Goodness, they will be busy being fabulous jetting around all those cities. My first reaction on seeing this was
'Glenn  is not going to have much time to recover from his 60th birthday celebrations'

Oh, to be in Dallas on November 15, my birthday. It seems that on November 6 and on November 20 they have a night off. I wonder why?!! :birthday:

Edit: Just checked and they are in Washington on Joe's birthday. Our Fearless Leader, however, gets the night off.:armed:

Is Cincinnati on or not? I don't see it on the official site. Dreamer-where did you see it was back on?
I was talking to hubby last night and mentioned that they are back on the road in November and might be doing a show in Cincinnati and were also scheduled for St Louis, and several Pennsylvania stops. He looked at me and asked if this was going to become a new obsession trying to get to these shows? Well--duh!!!! He didn't say no-right, so I figure it won't hurt to look into it. Cincinnati would be the closest.

:shrug:Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

On another note about these November shows...my ticket says (just like all concert tickets) "No cameras..." And we've seen and heard that in some locales, Glenn will announce that pix are OK, just no video. So, my question is, if I bring a camera to the arena gate, isn't there a risk they will confiscate it? Or have they been letting people take them in anyway? Otherwise, I was just planning on using the camera on my cell phone; but to truly take some good pix I'd rather use my real camera. Maleah, how did you accomplish it (or anyone else who succeeded?)

Brooke
10-21-2008, 01:45 PM
Even though there were signs posted everywhere about no cameras, I hid mine in the bottom of my purse and took it in. They looked in, but didn't dig around and therefore, didn't see it.

But then, security inside the seating area were adament about no pictures, so I didn't get much.

But I'd still take it, just in case. Ya never know!

sodascouts
10-21-2008, 01:50 PM
When I was caught with a camera one time at the gate, I was told to take it back to my car and then get in line again to come through. I've never had it confiscated at the gate. However, during a concert, if you've got real camera Nazis, they can confiscate your camera, film, or memory card. They'll give those back to you, though, after the show.

Maleah
10-21-2008, 10:10 PM
I put mine in my jeans pocket and pulled my t-shirt over it and then hung my purse on the opposite side so they would pay more attention to that side. My friend stuck close to my other side. lol As for the camera nazis....they just told me to put the camera away before Glenn gave the go ahead. ;)

Ya know.. and I know this sounds kind of gross but it's always worked for me. If you take an old tampax box or kotex bag and put whatever it is in there and stuff it in the bottom of your purse, usually the guards wont TOUCH it *G* (works sneaking candy into the movies anyway)

eaglesvet

Ok, got it...camera in bottom of big purse full of junk (won't fit in my jeans pocket); arrive early enough to trudge back to car if necessary. Otherwise, wait for the go-ahead and try to snap away discreetly. If the worst that could happen is I have to go to security afterwards to pick up my camera snatched by the Nazis, I'll give it a whirl! Who knows...maybe this will start me on a whole new trend of contraband photo shoots at other artists' concerts as well!!

Sounds like you're ready! I wrapped my camera in an envelope too and then piled stuff on top.

At the one concert where they found my camera at the entrance they told me to take it back to the car. I went to the car and hid it better and then went through a different gate! Worked too! :nahnah:

At the recent Green Bay show, I had my camera in a zipper pocket of my purse, and at the door, I was asked to open the zipper. The security guy looked at my camera and said, "Oh, it's just a small one -go ahead" and let me take it in. ?? I was really surprised by that.

Recently, someone passed along this trick. Put the camera on the very bottom of your purse and cover it with a scarf that is the same color as your purses lining. The scarf will appear to be the "bottom" of your purse.

Off topic, I inadvertently went through Miami airport security with a picnic knife in my bag. I found it just before boarding, but decided it was safer with me than ditched in a bin where some unhinged (well, more than me, lol) person might find it. Love your camera hiding tips!

On our way to London earlier this year (yes, for the Eagles gig!) Laura waved to the pilot from the tarmac. When we got onto the plane the hostess told her that he would like to meet the little girl in the pink coat who waved to him. He brought both children into the cockpit and showed them around, chatted to them and then welcomed them on board later on. Needless to say they were chuffed and it was a prefect start, but I couldn't help thinking also that it would have been a perfect decoy if one had wanted one to get a kiddie to wave innocently to a pilot!! I'm too paranoid!!

I'm sorry WT--here I am feeling sorry for myself because I really want to hit this Cincinnati show and others haven't gotten to see them at all. I know I should just be satisfied that I did get to see them in September, but I want more more more!!! The PEW is really bad for me now that I have faced reality and can't go to KC. In the back of my mind I'm thinking "there's still Springfield". When I was born my Dad was in the Army, so I was only a few weeks old when we left for Florida and I have never made it back that way. Bob and I have a motorhome and swear we are going to travel BUT the price of gas keeps us close to home. Thank you for the offer, with the motor home we at least have our own bed, kitchen and bathroom. lol If the Eagles get close I can probably talk Bob into going to see them, he is a fan too.
