When I was in Toronto on August 26 after Glenn's shows, I was walking down Yonge St when I spied an HMV store; so I went in & looked at some of Gordon's CDs, one being A Painter Passing Through. It contained a song called 'On Yonge Street'. I probably should have bought the CD but I waited until I got home, bought it from iTunes & put it straight in a playlist which features a lot of other Canadian music. In it he talks about 'the longest street in the world' and 'the city by the lake' and I will now always have that association; it's funny that I first heard about the song on the actual street itself.

Yes it's a hugely underrated tune and needs to be back in the setlist IMO (along with several others).

That is Felder's opening lick on that song and because it is his birthday today I've been listening to songs which are pretty much Felder-based guitar-wise (Hotel California (with Walsh together), One Of These Nights, Victim Of Love, Already Gone, etc). Victim Of Love is one of them. Walsh plays the slide bits but that opening Stratocaster riff is Felder. It's a cool lick with a lot of cool harmonics and palm mutes.

I LOVE this CD. I only wish I would have discoverd him a lot sooner. I started listening to the Cars again a couple of years ago (was always just a casual fan). Then, dohh, I realised Benjamin sings, too. Yeah, dohh. Here I thought all along it was Rick O. So I bought his CD and just love it.
