Hi everybody!! I know that my introduction is long overdue, my apologies. I've been getting so wrapped up in all of the interesting reads and pictures on this board that i forgot to introduce myself.
My name is Jessica, or Jess, either one is perfectly fine with me. I'm 24 and work at the local casino as a blackjack dealer. I plan to go back to school next fall and finish my degree in Nursing. For now i'm just enjoying working and making money. I give credit to my mother for getting me interested in the Eagles. I can remember taking many long car trips with her and cleaning the house with the Eagles music in the background as i was growing up. It wasn't till i bought the Very Best Of cd that i became completely enamored with their music. I was definitely hooked after that and, i think only those on this board would understand, I had to have every album, cd, poster, tshirt, dvd... i had to have everything and anything Eagles.
After watching the HFO video, I was particularly struck by the voice of the amazing Mr. Henley. And it didn't hurt that i thought he was/is just completely and adorably HOT!!! In 2004, i came so close to seeing Don in concert in Oklahoma City but it was cancelled and i was incredibly bummed out about that for the longest time until Sept. 2005 when a friend told me that he would be giving a lecture in Denton, TX. Denton was only 2 1/2 hours away so i of course had to be there. Little did i know when i got there, i would actually get to meet the man. It was so great to get to meet him. Only problem was that i was so nervous that i couldn't hardly speak. I at least managed to get an autograph and ask for a picture with him. I finally got to see him in concert in Aug. 2007 at the Zoo Ampitheater in Oklahoma City. It was even more exciting than i ever thought it would be. The only thing that i had left to do was to see him live in concert with the Eagles and i got that chance on Sept. 6, 2008 in Tulsa. I was lucky enough to have front row tickets to that concert. I still think that i never would have gotten to have those experiences if it wasn't for my mother introducing me to their music. I was so glad that she got to accompany me to both of the concerts. It was the perfect mother-daughter moments and something she and i will always treasure.
I'm also looking forward to seeing the guys again on Nov. 11 in Tulsa. I've got a second row ticket for that show. I'm making plans to go to Tampa to see them in January for my birthday. Hopefully everything will work out with that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I would also like to add that i have already found everyone on this board to be a great group of people. It's so wonderful to be apart of a community that have just as much interest in the Eagles as i do.
