View Full Version : Border Chat Party Nov 1, 8:00 Eastern

10-21-2008, 03:34 PM
Time for another Border Chat party, to celebrate Tim's and Glenn's birthdays as well as the one-year anniversary of Long Road Out of Eden!

For those of you that are new - a chat party is when we go to the chatroom (see link to FlashChat (http://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/forum/misc.php?do=flashchat&room=1)at top) and watch a video together. Usually it's Farewell 1 or HFO, but sometimes we do bootleg chats as well! And that's what this one is.

Our bootleg will be the Christchurch, New Zealand 1995 show.

If you don't have the bootleg, you need to let us know far enough in advance that we can send it to you. Overseas folks: that means ASAP. Americans: no later than Oct. 28. Either reply here or PM me.

Overseas folks: feel free to come in early and we'll watch some downloads. I'll be there starting 6:00 Eastern time.

Note: Eastern Daylight US Time = Greenwich Mean Time - 4 hours.

Feel free to come in late or just drop by for a little while. It's fun to chat even if you can't be there the whole time.

See you there!

I'll try and be there, but that's Cliffy's and my anniversary. We'll prolly go out that night. BUT it's early enough for me I might be able to make the beginning. Either way, Ill need the video if I can make it. Maybe he and I can go out on Friday night instead. I'll talk to him but "Honey! I have a chat party that night, cant we celebrate our 22nd anniversary a day early?" Probably isnt going to fly, but then you never know!

10-21-2008, 04:49 PM
The night before is Hallowe'en Ticky!! Maybe you can suggest a 'spooky' night out to Cliffy instead!

I'll definitely be there. Works to my advantage as there'll only be a 4 hour difference instead of 5 hours, as we'll be back to GMT. Disadvantage is that the kids might not be in bed early though!!

Still I WILL be there!! Never fear!!

10-21-2008, 05:03 PM
the night before is Halloween and we have a 5 yr old.. not to mention Cliffy is a 5 yr old at heart *G* Halloween is almost as big an event here as Christmas!

10-21-2008, 06:50 PM
I hope to be there also. Boy what luck, I just recently acquired a copy of Christchurch from a friend :hilarious:!!

I was just thinking about the one-year anniversary of LROOE yesterday. My birthday is the same as Timothy's and I loved the fact that LROOE came out on Oct 30!

This is a great way to celebrate, but unfortunately I can't be there. My hubby & I host a Halloween/bday party every year, & there are so many fall festivals & other Halloween activities going on in our neighborhood that we had to schedule the party for Nov 1 this year! Christchurch is one of my favorite bootlegs--I wish I could be there to help celebrate with all of you. Have fun!

I probably can't make it either.

Now a couple weeks later would have been great as raccoon hunting season begins and I'll be a "coon hunter's widow" most every night weather permits!

Sorry, I can't make it..

10-30-2008, 09:25 PM
I am disappointed I can't be there. I promised a friend of mine I would go over to the coast with her to look at some property she wants to buy so I will be sans internet all weekend... :headshake:

10-30-2008, 10:04 PM
Sorry, can't make it. Will be in upstate NY visiting my college alma mater, for an afternoon football game and an evening concert featuring campus acapella groups (which I find very entertaining.) Thank goodness we gain an extra hour of sleep that night!

10-31-2008, 08:48 AM
Darn--I was thinking it was a Friday night (duh--Halloween on Friday) so don't know if will be able to pull it off during Vinyl Record Night here (got to play the 35 albums we bought at the record show 2 weeks ago when Soda was up here)--sure am going to try and if they give me any crap, I will make them all set and watch Christchurch with me!!! I actually wouldn't get to many complaints probably because they all like the Eagles also.

10-31-2008, 10:48 AM
I sure hope you can make it, Willie!

Seems like this might be a small, intimate gathering! I'd move it, but a couple people specifically said they wanted this date.

10-31-2008, 06:44 PM
Well, I'll be there. I just didn't feel I needed to say so!

10-31-2008, 06:46 PM
I'm sure I'll pop in for a chat! I'm an idiot and I didn't "order" the Christchurch bootleg in time, but hopefully I can join you guys for a natter anyway.

10-31-2008, 08:29 PM
I haven't rec'd Christchurch yet, unless it is in the mailbox today, but even if I don't get it I will join in for awhile, if just to read the comments.

10-31-2008, 08:50 PM
I sent it out Saturday morning. I hope you get it tomorrow!

10-31-2008, 10:01 PM
I just checked the mailbox & it wasn't there :-(. The mail service isn't what it used to be. Thanks so much for getting it out so quickly, Soda. I'll be glad to get it whenever it does arrive . As I said in the last post, I'll drop in to the chat anyway. I have watched the video of some songs. Thanks again.

11-01-2008, 01:42 PM
Ditto to Troub!

11-01-2008, 02:24 PM
Wow Soda, you're AV is aging right before my eyes! is this like a Dorian Grey thing? does this mean the REAL Glenn is getting younger?? be sure and stop him around the HFO or HC era.. *G* then can we do that for all of em?.. heck can *I* do that too??

11-01-2008, 02:34 PM
lol! My fave era for Glenn is definitely "Hell Freezes Over" - perfection!

But this avie will catch up with Glenn on his 60th birthday this Thursday.

Which age had Glenn on that pic?
I love it Soda!

11-01-2008, 02:37 PM
That's Glenn's senior high school yearbook photo! The year was 1966, and he was 18. For future reference:

I want to thank everyone who came, and also apologize for any tech difficulties as well as my untimely exit!

I had a great time Soda, as always and you could not be held responsible for the tech problems. As regards your exit, we all totally understood. I hope your friend is ok too!

Heres to the next one!

11-04-2008, 01:48 AM
I enjoyed it as well. We understand the glitches & your duty to be there for your friend. Hope all is well with her.

11-04-2008, 11:17 AM
Thanks for the concern, guys. She will get over it, but she is very disappointed.
