While hunting vinyl yesterday we came across a solo Keith Moon album. Neither my husband or I knew that he had even had a solo album so thought we would pick it up. The cover was very interesting also! Got all our new albums home and started going thru them to find that Joe Walsh was credited on several of the songs on the album.

Solid Gold he is credited as Guitar and Arp Synthesizer
The Kids Are Alright he is credited as Electric Guitar and Arp
Move Over Ms. L credited as Guitar and Solo
Back Door Sally credited as Guitars

There were several other well known names on it also, Ringo Star, Rick Nelson, Harry Nillson, Jay Ferguson, Spencer Davies & John Sebastian to name some.

Was any of you big Joe fans aware of this? Also, what the heck is an Arp Synthesizer?

I had no idea Joe was on this (though I guess it's not surprising since they were such good friends) - sharp eyes, Willie!

As for the "arp synthesizer" - you got me!

ARP is a brand, an instrument company I believe and they primarily made synthesizers.

As far as I remember Joe was given one by Pete Townshend in the early seventies and Joe gave Townshend a Gretsch in return.

Thank you Toonlass --I had just found something on the Arp to come and post and found that you had answered our question.

per Wiki--"ARP Instruments, Inc. was an early electronic music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_music) company founded by Alan Robert Pearlman (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alan_Robert_Pearlman&action=edit&redlink=1). Best known for its line of synthesizers that emerged in the early 1970s, ARP closed its doors in 1981 for financial reasons."

That takes me back because my favourite Australian pop band used ARP synthesizers, and they used a clavinet before I ever heard Glenn play one on LITFL.
