I was posting in another thread thinking of the live tracks that I love the most. As you guys know, I have tons of 'em on the site, and there's tons on YouTube as well. In your experience, what are some of your favorite Eagles live tracks? (You can link to them on the site (https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/downloads/multimedialive.htm) or YouTube (http://www.youtube.com) or elsewhere if you like, but it's not required).

Here's some of mine, off of the top of my head:

Out of Control (BBC 1973) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJkAO1tYi-M)

Outlaw Man (Seattle 1976) (http://www.glennfreyonline.com/multimedia/live/OutlawManSeattle76.wmv)

Turn to Stone (Houston 1976) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh3_SSZElXg)

I Can't Tell You Why (Eagles Live 1980) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oHLGV7j7Qk)

Seven Bridges Road (Eagles Live 1980) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMdIyu2B_GI)

Heart of the Matter (Hell Freezes Over) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLgUuHl2xJo)

Help Me Thru the Night (Hell Freezes Over) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5NsJjVF4zc)

Peaceful Easy Feeling (HFO Second Night) (http://www.glennfreyonline.com/multimedia/MP3/PeacefulEasyFeelingHFOOuttake94.mp3)

Some fantastic ones already listed!

This is not technically the Eagles, but it's Don, and it gets me everytime. The intro is adorable and his voice is just gorgeous

Too Far Gone - http://www.eaglesfans.com/downloads/audio/henley/toofar.mp3

Also, You Never Cry Like A Lover. Sigh-ay-ay.

Oh Troub, those were fab! You Never Cry is one of my favorite Eagles songs, and it was good to hear it again. And the other one by Don, Too Far, was absolutely gorgeous--I had never heard it before, but I love it! His vocals were to die for!

Glad you liked it, EV! It still makes me swoon, even after about 3000 listens. I love the little female voice that pipes up with "Me!" when Don says he'd like to dedicate it to some of the audience members.

Again, just Don, but how could I forget Talking To The Moon?

In terms of audio tracks, I like the second night bootleg versions of Peaceful Easy Feeling and Lover's Moon.

I am a fan of the quirky cover versions like Lazy Days, Carol and the Wrong Beach version of King Of Hollywood. There is also a band version of The Heat Is On from 1995, I think, which is good.

I won't list favourite Glenn live tracks in this topic.

I don't know Don's solo stuff as well as I would like. Is Talking to the Moon a well-known song of his in concert? What album is it on?:smitten:
Although I realize it'll now be 1 1/2 to 2 yrs at least (and probably more), my next goal will be to see Don and Glenn in solo concerts, neither of which I have seen before.

Those are all great live tracks. When I first really got into the Eagles, I was watching HFO every chance I could. I just couldn't get enough of it. But even though it's a solo song, I fell in love with Heart of the Matter from HFO. I kept rewinding that song over and over and over. It's still my favorite version of that song. My other favorite is the newest version that Don did of End of the Innocence last summer. It's so beautiful. That's another song that I play over and over. Of course i have to include Seven Bridges Road (Live 1980) and Hotel California from HFO.

The song is from the first solo album I Can't Stand Still, but I don't know how often it is performed live.

Great choices, folks! Maybe we should start a topic for this in each of the guy's forums (I think FP started one for Glenn a while ago).

Two of my favorite live tracks are "Best of My Love" from second night of HFO, and "Learn to be Still", from HFO. I also love "Talking to the Moon" from "Live Inside Job". A live performance on You tube that I recently watched was Don singing "The End of the Innocence" with Bruce Hornsby at the 32nd Grammy Awards. This was absolutely sublime!:applause:

I was thinking exactly the same thing, TBF. There is no way I can really pick because I do love them all. I will say there are three that I would love to hear live, but probably never will...

Seven Bridges Road
Take It Easy - Eagles Live or HFO extended version
Peaceful Easy Feeling - HFO or Party of Two bootleg slow version

And OBTW - thanks GA for finding that live clip of Somebody - it's great, but too bad the last verse is missing - that's the best one, IMHO.

I suggest you get a copy of Don's "Live Inside Job" DVD. He's got a version of Hotel California on there that really rocks. My wife, a rabid Eagles fan, told me that this was they way they originally wanted to do it. I highly recommend you check it out. I think you'll really enjoy it.

It was the best I could find unfortunately, so I reckoned something was better than nothing! Although I agree, and to seeing it done Live was an experience in itself.

I must say I LOVE Glenn:heart: singing 'PartyTown' live from Dublin in 1992!

Who did the original version of Lazy Day? I've googled this query in various permutations and haven't gotten anywhere.

I don't know if it's the original, but it was played by The Flying Burrito Bothers. This is a live version (with Bernie) after Gram Parsons had left:

Thank you, UtW!

Glenn sings lead in the Eagles version, correct? Just want to be sure.

Don Henley's soulful rendition of "Come Rain or Come Shine" for the MTV Unplugged series. What a voice!

The Eagles' "Funky New Year" from the Millenium concert. Probably the best live song ever recorded for Y2K!

It's brilliant; I put Don's version right up there with Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra. And thank you, NOLA for inadvertently answering a long-held question of mine! I knew this song from the "Leaving Las Vegas" soundtrack and wondered where it was recorded.

It's Lazy Days and both the Byrds & the Flying Burrito Brothers recorded it.
