In a recent interview, Stevie has said that due to her desire to continuing touring to support her new album In Your Dreams, Fleetwood Mac won't get going again until 2013.
Guess this means I can concentrate on spending my money on the Eagles in 2012! ;)

Well, I'd love to see Stevie solo, too. Has she posted any more dates?

I realise that most references to this sort of thing are to the United States. For those of us who don't live there, however, it seems natural to us to mention it if dates are scheduled outside the US. Especially if we are attending one of them ourselves.

Likewise, it's only natural for Brooke, when asking if Stevie had posted dates, to be interested in hearing about those near her.
But I'm happy to hear you're going to see Stevie, FP! Have fun and be sure to write a review!

Darn - I was really hoping to see FM this coming year. Hopefully Stevie will come close on a solo tour. That'd be fun - plus I can hear "Edge Of Seventeen", which obviously isn't done at Mac shows.
So I guess concert wise coming up next year I have the Eagles (hopefully) and maybe Joe Walsh solo if I'm lucky. Also if Aerosmith or any other favorite Classic Rock bands come to Peoria/Springfield I will go. I usually save Chicago for bands I REALLY like (ie Eagles, Stones, etc).

Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist dies at 64, very sad news..

Oh no! I always hoped all of the Mac members, even the former ones that I'm not as familiar with, would all live to ripe old ages... but we're starting to lose them. While Weston was only in the band for one year (he was fired after he was caught having an affair with Mick's wife), he left his mark. He wrote the opening segment to my favorite Fleetwood Mac song pre-Lindsey and Stevie, called "Why":

There's no use in crying, it's all over... and I know there'll always be another day. My heart will rise up with the morning sun, and the hurt I feel will simply melt away.
May he rest in peace.

New movie features love affair between Christine McVie & Dennis Wilson. Interesting, never knew about that...

Wow. I knew about their romance but never imagined it would be turned into a movie like that. Christine McVie is a very private person, but maybe she didn't sign off on it. As far as I know, you don't have to get a person's permission to do a movie on them (as George W. Bush found out the hard way, lol).
I wonder if they'll have people playing Stevie and Lindsey as well? I'll go see it!

I didn't realize this full episode was on VH1. I watched this "Behind the Music" when I was a brand-new fan after seeing "The Dance" and I found it fascinating. I recommend any FM fan watch it!

PS Bad news for Mac fans regarding touring... Mick recently complained that Stevie would rather tour with Rod Stewart promoting her new album than with Fleetwood Mac. Even worse, he worries that they may never tour again! I hope he's just being melodramatic, though. He has a tendency to do that, so I'm not overly worried.

I got Ken Caillat's book in the mail last week. I'm trying to save it for vacation in a few weeks but I don't know if I can resist the drama!

It doesn't have that much drama. He details one fight between SnL and that's it. He does talk more about his own drama with Lindsey, but most of it is tech stuff. Interesting, but not dramatic.

Aaah. Ledge fan drama blown out of proportion as usual. Heh.

Ain't that the truth. FM fans and message boards tend to amp up the drama! For instance, even though I use the same admin style as I did on my old BN board, drama on this Eagles board is very dialed-down. The old BN board, on the other hand, had crazy drama right and left. I have no idea why that is.

Because no one in the Eagles slept with a bandmate (that we know of) or continues to write songs about a 35 year old breakup!

Yikes! I hope not!
I'd love to watch that BTM, but no time today. Will that stay up a couple days?
Thanks for posting about it Soda, I had no idea about it.

Brooke, it looks like the BTM will be up for a while. You'll love it!
And PFD - good point! lol

Checking my email this morning, I saw one from Amazon entitled New Fleetwood Mac Biography. My heart skipped a beat and I thought to myself, how is it we haven't heard about this from our resident FM expert? So I anxiously opened it:
http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/email/s.gif Dear Amazon.com Customer,
Customers who have purchased or shown an interest in music biographies and memoirs at Amazon.com might also be interested in "Making Rumours: The Inside Story of the Classic Fleetwood Mac Album," available in hardcover and Kindle book.

I clicked the learn more and was taken to this:

How do they call this a Fleetwood Mac Biography? Interesting, I'm sure, but not what I was hoping for.

 Now that's funny!!! Maybe that's why we haven't ever gotten an "official" biography from any of the guys.

Checking my email this morning, I saw one from Amazon entitled New Fleetwood Mac Biography.Yeah, that advertising is a bit misleading. That's the book PFD and I posted about yesterday. It's not so much a biography as a detailing of the Rumours recording sessions, written by Ken Caillat who was one of the album's producers. There are bits of Ken Caillat's personal life in there (mostly about his hook-ups at the time) but most of it is focused on the recording sessions. Very little is written about the personal lives of the band members.
He did talk about one fight between Stevie and Lindsey which was telling because they would scream at each other between takes, then harmonize together beautifully without missing a beat as soon as he hit "record." So, you'd get swings like [record] "You make lovin' fun. It's all I wanna do..." [rewind] "You are so full of yourself!" "I'm moving out as soon as we get back to LA!" [record] "You make lovin' fun. It's all I wanna do..." Talk about compartmentalization!
Another interesting factoid about Stevie and Lindsey was that Lindsey deliberately held out as long as he could before telling Stevie what the lyrics were for "Second Hand News" because he knew they would upset her, and she complained about the lyrics to "Go Your Own Way." Likewise, Christine told John that "You Make Lovin' Fun" was about her dog to spare his feelings (it was really about her new boyfriend).
That's about it in terms of Stevie/Lindsey drama as recounted by Ken Caillat.

See, that's how observant I am. I saw your discussion yesterday but never put 2 and 2 together. Duh! Does sound interesting tho. If I can get it cheap enough used, I might try to get it. Be a nice one to add to the RNR books collection I suppose.
