Does anyone have photos from that tour of Joe with the Party Boys?

I'm hoping to find some pics of Joe with Waddy Wachtel and/or Rick Rosas.

Thanks!

Mark Lane has some on his MySpace (https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/forum/myspace.com/marks_joe_site), but you have to be a member of MySpace to view them all.

OK, Soda, you've finally decided me. I have photos which I took of the Party Boys tour and also the Creatures From America tour. It wasn't referred to as The Confessor tour here. I don't even really remember which songs Joe played. I have been meaning to scan these photos and make them available to JWO for some time. I promise you that I will scan them and post them next week. I certainly have at least one photo of Waddy, if not Waddy with Joe.

Thanks, Sodascouts. I checked Mark's MS page, and I already have the photo he has up of Joe and Waddy.

Thank you, Freypower, for reminding me..... Waddy and Rick were in the Creatures From America, not the Party Boys.

Please let me know if you find and upload those pics? I hope you do.

December 7 1984 - the Party Boys. The songs included PMAIR which made me cry, LITFL, LBG, RMW and All Night Long. According to my diary, he did the Stones' Not Fade Away and I had 'contact'. It also says he smiled at me while he was playing a solo. And I have it listed as being from 1 am to 2.30 in the morning!!!! I was living in Randwick in Sydney's east, so the show would have been at Selina's nightclub in the Coogee Bay Hotel. I apologise for the quality.

Creatures From America December 7 1985. The songs included Walk Away, Help Me Through The Night, In The City and surprises were Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl and Carole King's Will You Love Me Tomorrow. The diary entry says an album was supposed to be recorded but nothing came of it. The show was at the old Tivoli nightclub in George St, central Sydney. For Nina, the photo of Waddy is at the end.

I'm glad people like them. I'm sorry there aren't more and that my memories of the shows aren't more comprehensive. It was such a thrill to see Joe twice before I saw any of the others. I didn't see Glenn until 1988.

Thanks so much, FP. What great photos!!!! And thanks for the info on the gig too.

Would it be all right with you if I added the one of Waddy to Waddy's web site? If so, what name should I give photo credit to?

-Nina

P.S. Would you have any pics with Rick Rosas (the bass player) in them?

Freypower

Nina, I didn't have any with Rick Rosas. I would have posted them if I did. I was concentrating on Joe.

You can use the photo of Waddy. My full name is Julie Gustafson if you wish to give me credit.

Thank you, Julie!

I've put the photo up on this page:

I love giving photo credit....... and I love it even more when people like you come up with these great photos. The guys need us fans to help them remember those gigs. We're a treasure!

Yes, Soda, I run the Waddy Wachtel Info web site. I also run the Waddy Wachtel Band MySpace page. What a great honor for me that they let me do it! :partytime:

P.S. I saw Glenn Frey when he was in Longbranch/Pennywhistle. But I didn't get any photos. :headshake:

That's great, Nina! You know, I've had the pleasure of meeting Waddy a couple times. One of them was at AHI 2005 with Stevie Nicks and Don Henley. In fact, you have that photo on your site - me with him, Don, Stevie, and my friend Kristin as well (I'm the brunette in the navy blue dress).

Waddy is so cool. When I met him that time in 2005, I joked with him, "I never thought I'd get my photo taken with Mr. Waddy Wachtel!" He laughed at that, along with Don. Later he waved at me in the audience (I went to several Stevie shows).

I also saw Waddy at Stevie's Soundstage last year. He was walking around and I waved him over and talked to him a bit. I'm pretty sure he didn't remember me, but he was very gracious and we joked around a bit about the show. I also brought up his famous mention on "Lola My Love."

When I went to see JD Souther a few months ago, he mentioned Waddy and how he helped him refine the song "You're Only Lonely." When he said Waddy's name, my friend Tiff (also a Stevie fan) and I gasped, "OH! Waddy!" And JD laughed and smiled at us (we were front row center). It was too funny!

Welcome and glad to have you. Waddy is awesome.

As for seeing Longbranch Pennywhistle live.... oh my gosh, please tell us ANYTHING you remember from that!

That's you in the blue dress? Small world! I searched all over that web page trying to find your name, but couldn't find it anywhere. If you tell me your real name, I'll add it and Kristen's to the photo.

Thanks for the Waddy stories. Cute!

It was so long ago, I don't remember which songs Glenn and J. D. sang, but their vocal harmonies were wonderful! They (and almost every other aspiring singer/musician) hung out at the Troubadour on Monday nights. Sometimes they got up and sang - and for only $1 admission it was the best gig in town.

Then Glenn joined Eagles and J. D. pursued his solo career. Here's something funny Glenn said: "It's not THE Eagles! It's just Eagles." He was very adamant about that. Hehe. I saw Eagles several times too.

Julie was kind enough to allow me to add these to tickypages.com/JoeWalsh too. *G* Thanks Julie. They're under the Joe In Action Album.

I also received Mark Lane's interview the other day and, with his gracious permission I've added it to JoeWalsh too, on the Biographies page. It's on interviews 1, If anyone is interested. It's posted in it's entirety with all the music and adds and stuff just they way Mark sent it to me.

Fame at last!!!:computer:

It gave me great pleasure to be able to contribute to these two great websites. Needless to say the photos are also available for use at JWO.

Is this a good place to mention that GFO also has a page of photos I took? I am sure you all know which ones I mean.... if only that could happen again.

Nina, it is so awesome to have encountered someone who actually saw Longbranch Pennywhistle.

What a great bunch you all are! Thank you for welcoming me and offering so much help.

Here are some photos of Joe with Rick Rosas you might not have seen? Hopefully I'll get the code right to post them.

Welcome to The Border, Nina and thank for the great pics. I had to laugh at that last one though. For some reason, the first thing that caught my eye about it was Smokey (at least, I think that's him) in the background on the cell phone.
