Shun mentioned this feature in another thread, so I thought I'd post an update here. Unfortunately, during our recent board transition, we lost the 'Today in Eagles History' feed that used to be at the bottom of the board in the "What's Going On?" section. I think I remember Soda saying that the functionality was gone for good, but she can correct me if I'm wrong. However, all is not totally lost - you can still view most of the events in the calendar. If you click on 'Calendar' on the top left menu, it will take you to the default board calendar. However, once you launch the calendar, if you click on 'Calendar Picker' over on the top far right, you can choose the "This Day in Eagles History" calendar. So, it's not quite as convenient as before, but, at least, the info is still there for those who are interested.

I have a question. Has the Today in Eagles History always been a day off? Example the calendar has Timothy's birthday on October 29th than October 30th.

Okay - this is weird. I checked mine and the dates are correct. However, I looked at the profiles for you and Soda and both of your calendar's are off by a day. The only difference is that both of your times are set on Central Time whereas mine is on Eastern Time. I played around on Soda's profile and set her time to Eastern and it corrected the dates. Then I set it back to Central Time, they are off by a day once again. I don't know why this isn't working correctly, and Soda may have a better answer than I do. But, for now, the only way I know to correct it is to set the time on your profile to Eastern Time. Very strange!

Oh ok. That makes since now. The board is set on Eastern Time. So when the board goes to the next day, its midnight when it does it, but still on the day before making it look like its a day off for us on Central Time and probably the other time zone.

I actually didn't know the "today in Eagles history" was on the right date. I thought it was just me seeing the "today in Eagles history" off a day.

Well - I did some more investigating and I think I figured out the problem and why certain time zones are affected. Trouble is I'm pretty sure it is a vBulletin issue and I don't know if it can be fixed. I'll talk to Soda and see if we can check into it.

Thanks, Dreamer. The days has always been off since i became a member of the board. I just never brought it up until after I thought the "today in Eagles history" was gone. I had thought it was just the board, but it looks like it effected someone who's on a different time zones.

I'm a couple of days late on this one, but it is definitely an event worthy of mention ...

On November 11, 1999, the Eagles were named 'Artists of the Century' by RIAA.

Not too shabby and well deserved - I guess all the hard work and perfectionism paid off, huh?

25 years ago today, Hell finally Froze Over even if it was for one day thanks to Travis Tritt's crazy idea of getting the guys back together. Thank goodness they got back together permanently 4 months later.

Wow - it's been 43 years! Although Bernie was immensely talented, it was a really smart move on the band's part to change musical direction when he left. Bringing in Joe definitely helped accomplish that, and then some!

Thanks for those videos, CA. Some of the guys acceptance speeches were cut for some reason. I think part of Joe's and definitely part of Felder's where he thanks Don and Glenn for writing the songs. Still fun to watch again though.

Thanks for posting the link, CAinOH. Unlike some here, I really like the song, too. We've probably all known someone (male or female) more concerned with impressing others than caring for their family. The video, however, is really fun---would have loved to have been an extra!

Same here - I like the song - and I was so happy to see a concept video when they put it out. It's crazy, but the Eagles had never put out a concept video before then. It was always just footage of them singing live or pretending to sing live. I'm glad we at least got one out of 'em.

I wonder why it's not on the official Eagles channel? They only have "How Long" on there.

TBH, the song is not one of my favorites, but I do like the video a lot. It's very entertaining and actually makes the song more enjoyable for me.

I heard on the radio this morning that this was the day in 1985 that Glenn's acting debut was shown. Jimmy Cole on Miami Vice in the "Smuggler's Blues" episode. I agree with the disc jockeys - Glenn was a good actor. ❤

Us, too! We checked out the tour dates (Cincinnati: check!)... then we found out ticket prices. Although a bargain compared to today's concert prices, we didn't have the money. Jeez, wish we could have gone!

I remember when HFO debuted on MTV and VH-1 (I think, might be wrong), we were so excited! The Eagles were getting back together! Life was good.

Thanks for the reminder, shun and for the picture, CA. Those HOF induction pictures will always be an indelible part of Eagles history since it is the only time all seven members appeared together publicly. It does boggle the mind that it has been that long ago since the band was inducted.
