Now there you are. When they refer to Glenn's jokes in such nice, positive terms, I like it, although I have to take issue with 'you've be hard pressed to think of songs that didn't make the set' - don't start me on that. Nice photo, too, of course.

Oh, I've worked it out now. The St Petersburg Times Forum is in Tampa Bay. Is this the first venue ever named after a newspaper?! :eyebrow:

I'm back from Florida and had a wonderful time. Like DF mentioned, I was able to get a seat in the 5th row. I've got some pics from the concert that I will post but it's 1 in the morning here and i'm really tired from a long day of traveling. I'll get everything posted later today but i've gotta get some rest first.

First of all, Ticky, I love the new av!!! It looks great. And Willie, my most sincere apologies, i'm now rested and ready to post away.

Everything was so up and down as far as going to this concert. I literally didn't know that i would be going till about 4 hours before it started. My cousin and I were going back and forth about going. Should we go? Should we not go? Do I go by myself? But wait i don't want to go without my cousin. I finally let her decide what we would do. Her 16 month old daughter was not feeling well and in the end she decided to stay with her baby and i would go by myself. We drove to Tampa to see if I could get a ticket. At this point I was just so glad to be going that I didn't care where I would be sitting, I just wanted to be there.

We got to the arena and I walked right up to the box office to see what I could get. I know our fearless leader has done this many times, but waiting till hours before the concert to get a ticket or not get a ticket is so freaking scary. The first guy I talked to said the best he give me was section 118 row 3 next to the stage. I kept asking him to check for anything on the floor and that i just needed 1 ticket and he said that they never know when a floor seat is going to open up. He then asks another guy about floor seats. This second guy was much more helpful. Right away he pulled up F3 row 5 seat 12. SOLD!!! I couldn't believe that i payed face value for a 5th row seat.

Traffic from St. Petersburg to Tampa was INSANE!!! From my cousin's house to the St. Pete Times Forum in downtown Tampa, the drive should've taken us 25-30 minutes but because it was SuperBowl week and there was so much going on in Tampa, it took us an hour and a half to get there. My heart was racing as we turtled our way through the downtown streets and it kept getting closer and closer to show time. Finally, as we were 4 blocks away, I just got out of the car and started walking to the Forum. I could walk faster than the traffic was going anyway. I had about a block and a half to go and by my watch it was already 8 pm. I made my way to through the doors and just as i walked in the arena the lights went down. The boys were on!! I was still walking down the steps to the floor when How Long started. I missed half of it as I was making my way to my seat but once I got there and looked up at the guys it was all worth it. My view was kinda far off to the left but i could still the guys fairly good, especially when they would come over to my side.

Like always, they all looked FABULOUS!!! Even though i've seen them twice before, I still get the feeling of "I can't believe i'm here and they are right there, Wow!!!" During the first half, both the crowd and the guys seemed to be really reserved. Some of the people around me would get up and dance (especially the 2 drunk ladies sitting 2 rows in front of me), but for the most part there didn't seem to be much interaction until after intermission. I read in the Orlando thread that Tim was sick and I noticed that in Tampa. His voice just wasn't all there. He did okay through I Don't Want To Hear Any More but i really noticed him having some problems hitting the notes on ICTYW. He did sound much better on LWKUA. I think that a cold must be going around with the Eagles camp because I noticed Glenn sniffling a lot and wiping his noise. I even saw Stuart blowing his nose between songs. Hopefully they will all get the rest they need to get well during this month off.

Joe's hair is really getting long. It's passed his shoulders and I could see it curling and flipping up at the ends. As always, Joe was a crowd favorite with his guitar playing and his funny on stage antics. A few times during the concert, a group of people around me would be chanting "JOE, JOE, JOE!!!"

I'm really skipping around here but i'm just writing as it's all coming back to me. I finally got to hear Tim sing the small part of Tempted by the Fruit of Another. That was a real treat. During the band intros, when Tim was introducing Glenn I noticed this time that he added that he is "A man with a thousand jokes" he even called him "Our alustrious emcee." Glenn did sing a part of My Girl and did the usual jokes during his intro. Don got such loud cheers and applause that I couldn't even hear what the band was playing for him. When Joe came out he got the loudest cheers. It's always great to hear Joe say "How you doin?" He then said even louder as he pointed to the crowd "How are you doing?" and then said "WUUSUUP!!!" as he did the rock and roll thing with his fingers. He did the little speech about parents playing this next song while their kids were growing up and asked if we'd like to hear it again, everyone screamed and Joe said in a very girly voice "OH MY GOD!!!":hilarious:

Don scolded the audience about taking pictures. Here's what he had to say "I want to remind some of you that this is a concert and not a personal photo session. We don't mind you taking a few pictures but be mindful of your neighbors so that they can enjoy the show and not be blinded for two seconds, thank you. It's distracting." It seemed like this was mostly being directed at people in the middle and right side on the floor seats because when Don said thank you he looked at a few people on that side and nodded at them. I took more pics than i thought but most of mine came at the end. I hope Don wasn't mad at me too.

For those of you that have seen the guys in concert on this tour, have any of you noticed that Michael Thompson plays a guitar on Somebody. I didn't notice until this concert but he stands in the back by the piano and plays guitar. Glenn and Joe were really getting into it when they were doing their guitar battle right before Funk 49. At one point, Joe did a couple of thrusts with his guitar that really made Glenn laugh and seemed to be surprised that he did that. But then Glenn came back with a big thrust of his own. It was great!!!:):):)

I'm going to go ahead and get some pics posted and if I think of anything else I'll let ya know.

A few more things that I remember about the concert:

-It was really cute to see Tim dancing and clapping after he introduced Glenn and the band was playing My Girl. It was one of the few times that I saw him seem to really have a good time that night on account that he was under the weather.

-Don gave away a pair of drum sticks to a young boy sitting third row center. I had a feeling that would happen because i saw the little boy during intermission and at the end I saw Don asking for the drum sticks but i never saw him hand them to the little boy because Joe and Glenn were on my side and I was busy taking some pictures but I heard people cheering for Don when he gave away the drum sticks. Good for him!! That's one lucky kid!!

I'd like to say it's solely down to enjoying the music, but, in truth, I'm a bit of a wimp, so I hardly ever take cameras to concerts (especially when I run the risk of a "deathly glare".) Thank goodness we have brave soldiers like Peek and Maleah to do the dirty work for us!

I'm so glad you managed to see the show, Jess. Fifth row, too! Your box office story is most definitely an advert for persistance! Thanks for the review and the great pics.

Shame it's not a personal photo session though... It might justify some of the ticket prices ;)

I remember hearing him say that now. There's was quite a few people around me that was laughing when he said it.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that when Glenn first spoke after BBF, he had his eyes closed the entire time he was talking. He did this for most of the the nite that I could see anyways.

I nearly didn't get my camera in there this time because I almost forgot to hide it. I saw them checking bags and purses and just as I was walking up to the bag checking guy I remembered my camera being in my purse and I grabbed my cell phone and turned away as if I had to make a phone call. It's the best I could think of to do at the moment. I didn't have any pockets on me so I just stuffed my camera in my bra as quickly as possible. Embarrassing but it worked .

I tried to take pics when the lights were still on between songs. Only when I think about I would take pics during the middle of the song and of course I have it ready at the end when they bow and wave to the audience.

If you are lucky enough to have the 'much' ad lib it is a special moment, especially when it is directed entirely and specificallly to you. Yes, he does it frequently, but when it happened to me it was like the one and only time.

Reviews only seem to talk about Glenn's jokes, not his singing. For instance they never mention what a showstopper Heartache Tonight is.

Edit: Wow, he looked good and sounded good. And in the clip of him introducing it I liked the 'tender love triangle' part.

Well, he must at least be in agreement with Don on the issue, or it wouldn't be said. But it is confusing, since Glenn used to tell us it was OK with no qualifications....

(P.S. Just saw the video clip. How bogus was Don's "Don't take pictures.... Be considerate of your neighbors"? Nobody in the audience is bothered by picture-taking! But he knew it would make it more palatable to the crowd and even get some of them cheering if he phrased it that way. "It's not that WE'RE agitated... we're just concerned about YOU" - An old politician's trick.)

Is Glenn (or Don) giving the "take videos and burn in hell" speech still?

Me too. I spent quite a bit of time in Tampa back in the late '90's, but I never heard about this hotel. I would have definitely stayed there if I had known.

The Hard Rock Cafe looks nice,
the text line over the door is great!

That is cool, Pb!

I love the Hard Rock Cafe in Austin. It has tons of stuff, too. I've never been to a HR hotel or casino though.

Peek, that is so cool! I am a nut about everything Hard Rock---I will definitely have to save my money for a trip to this hotel!

I went to the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi to see Stevie Nicks. They were selling chips with her photo on them - of course I got some. Gamble with those? Hell no! They went into the purse!

No Eagles stuff there, though - and I looked!

I wish I would've had more time to look around in there. It was a really beautiful hotel and casino. I recomend it, if any of you get the chance to make it to Tampa. Even though it was the only Eagles thing I saw in there, it was pretty cool to see it written really big over the doors like that.
