View Full Version : How many Eagles related songs on your Ipod?

It occurred to me last night in the tanning bed (where I do my best thinking) when I got 2 in a row from Tim & Glenn that even tho my Ipod has over 1700 songs on it, I sure get my fair share of Eagles or solo works when on shuffle. And so I thought I would figure out how many I actually have on here. I have seperate playlists for the guys, the band and bootleg stuff. I also know that what I have here is not all I have in Itunes because a few weeks ago ran out of room on my ipod and had to start taking stuff off to add more :-(.

All together right now I have 455 Eagles related tunes! Heres a breakdown I think is pretty accurate unless I'm missing something.

Eagles albums 111 songs
Glenn Frey albums 45 songs
Timothy B Schmit albums 46 songs
Don Henley albums 45 songs
Joe Walsh albums 112 songs
bootlegs (Christchurch, etc..) 73 songs
Misc. (Poco stuff, tv appearances, Tim duets etc...) 23 songs

I'm pretty sure I might have a few duplicates. Unfortunately Poco was some of the stuff that had to go.

It also occurred to me that I have several songs that I have several versions of on here! Which is pretty ridiculous I guess, but I know all of you here will understand! :hilarious:

Edited to add---I forgot about James Gang!!! geez!!!

Don't have a iPod. But have a cell phone with tons of memory that I use while traveling. I have on it Everything "officially" recorded by the Eagles and also the same with Joe Walsh including James Gang and Barnstorm.

But I also have on some Zep, Dilana, Bonnie Raitt, Cream and other Eric Clapton, ZZ-Top and Guns n Roses. I've captured a few John Fogerty tunes and some Allman Bros. Pretty eclectic mixture I guess.

..whenever my husband uses my IPOD, he complains that it's all Eagles...I have everything they ever recorded..Glenn's entire solo collection...practically everything by Joe ....some of Don and a few POCO songs too......can't get enough..:eyebrow:

Much as I love the Eagles there is no way I could have nothing but the Eagles on my iPod, which after all is capable of holding 15000 tracks.

At the moment the breakdown is as follows:

Eagles 126 tracks
Glenn Frey 112 tracks(I am in the process of listening to all of this at the moment)
Don Henley 49 tracks
Joe Walsh 62 tracks
Poco/Tim Schmit 34 tracks

PM--your post kinda cracked me up--It made me think of my sister in law on Christmas last year, my nephew bought her one of the small ipod shuffles and he told her it will hold about 200 songs. Her reply... "I don't know 200 songs!" I couldn't stop laughing. Then you have my son who owns a 80 gig Zune--he's had to take songs off of it and currently has about 14,000 songs downloaded on it!! Now that amazes me!

Prettymaid
03-18-2009, 09:15 AM
I have to admit I'm very picky about what goes on the ipod. Of course, hubby has downloaded some stuff on there, too - not as much I me. I have very discerning taste!

Koala, when I wanted to know some of Joe's solo stuff I bought Joe Walsh's Greatest Hits/Little Did He Know.

Koala
04-06-2009, 08:23 AM
Thanks Prettymaid, these CD and the Barnstorm CD I regarded already, after the hint of Ticky,
I will buy as the first the Greatest Hits album.
I think this is the best entrance in Joes Solo Stuff !
A Joe Walsh CD will certain be present at my next CD order .

TimothyBFan

Koala as far as Tim cd's --his best (in my opinion) is Feed The Fire. Unfortunately, his cd's come with a price! If you do decide to buy any, be aware that his usually cost more than average and are somewhat hard to find also.

Koala
04-06-2009, 12:21 PM
Thank you for the hint, I have just looked, Feed The Fire costs at the moment 23 US dollar, I think this is a normal price of a CD!
For the price I will probably buy them.

TimothyBFan
04-06-2009, 01:03 PM
Koala--where are you getting your cd's? It is really unusual to see FTF for only US $23.00, (which is actually pretty high over here for any cd to be honest). FTF usually goes for a lot more than that as does any Tim cd, can you let us in on the place you buy from or is it a secret? :shh:

Koala
04-06-2009, 01:16 PM
No secret :)
The CD for 23 Dollar I have found at www.jpc.de (http://www.jpc.de) .
I have also found a FTF CD for 120 US Dollar. This was too expensive for me for one CD!

I agree that Joe's Greatest Hits - Little Did He Know is a good introduction to Joe's solo music.

As far as Tim - I think Tell Me the Truth and Feed the Fire are his best solo efforts. However, I would personally give a slight edge to Tell Me the Truth as being my favorite. I think it may be out of print though, so it is probably expensive and hard to find.

You are quite correct, Dreamer. It is difficult to find new, let alone at a cheap price! Good luck, Koala. I hope you find all the cds you are looking for.

I thought I posted my Eagles music breakdown on here, but I guess I missed it somehow  I have one of those 80 gig ipods and as much as I love it, I always find myself finding stuff I didn't know I had on it.

Eagles 118 (there are some repeats in there)
Timothy B. Schmit 43
Joe Walsh 61
Don Henley 44
Glenn Frey 13 (definitely need to find more Glenn...)
Poco 124
James Gang 47
I also have the Farewell I and Hell Freezes Over videos on there.

Could anyone suggest any Glenn cds they think I should check out first? I know if I'm going to get advice about Glenn, this is the best place to do it! :hilarious:

Glenn's first solo CD..*No fun aloud*..was and still is a great CD..I can honestly say I like every song..
"The Alnighter"..was excellent as well....I think you have to get them all:rockon:

I know it's trite to suggest a greatest hits album, but his Solo Collection is a good jumping-off point.

His best albums are Strange Weather and No Fun Aloud - get those before the others, definitely (IMHO)!

Koala
04-15-2009, 01:39 AM
Glenn Frey Universal Masters Collection was my first album, (I think Best of CDs are never wrong for the beginning! They give a good overview about the songs of the musician), then followed LIVE and No fun Aloud!
The next Glenn Frey albums I will buy are to Strange Weather and The Allnighter!

Melissa--You seem to be our resident Poco expert--I've always liked them but must admit don't really know which songs Tim sang on except the few obvious ones. Didn't you provide someone with a list awhile back? Would you mind PMing me also if it's not to much trouble? Would like to add some more Poco to my playlists and of course want them to be Tim songs!

Koala--Love your new signature!

Koala
04-15-2009, 12:35 PM
Thanks TBF, I like your signature too! :)

Today I have bought both Eagles albums which were still absent,
with it I have 162 songs of them on the IPOD, some of them of course twice or triply.

I has ordered Feed the Fire, but I must wait 3-6 weeks or longer on it.

Glenn's CDs in order of how good they are (my opinion)

Strange Weather (if you only have one, this is the one to get. It is almost flawless)

No Fun Aloud (perhaps the most consistent of the other three albums)

The Allnighter (has some wonderful songs but also contains Glenn's two worst ever songs)

Soul Searchin' (this has grown on me but some of it is very bland)

Solo Collection (I am not ranking this, but it includes his big hits plus four songs which don't appear on the studio albums and should be heard).

Live (diehard Glenn fans prefer a couple of bootlegs, but this includes Wild Mountain Thyme & Desperado)

melrose

Thanks for that Freypower. Looks like I should look into Strange Weather next.

All of Randy's stuff is great (although I'm a bit biased).

iTunes has all of Randy's albums except One More Song. I think either Love Me Or Leave Me Alone or Randy Meisner (1982) is a good place to start. iTunes has both self-titled CDs listed as 1978. 1982 is the one with this cover (http://randymeisneronline.com/images/randymeisner82.jpg).

Brooke, i've just recently become the proud owner of an ipad and if you click 'artist' it should give you the number of songs..ie I just did "Don" and i've got 59 songs
I assume they're very similar
