As web design progresses and more sites use things like flash, embedded video, hi-res images, etc... I was wondering how many here still are on dial-up on their personal computers?

My speed test comes out at 2.09 Mb/s download and .42 Mb/s upload. It is DSL through AT&T.

You can test your connection free at http://www.speedtest.net

I'm on dial-up. Not fun. But it beats no internet connection, heh. For the last four years, we kept hearing, "Yes, high-speed is coming to the Middle of Nowhere," but that's yet to happen. The tower is up. It's just down the road from my house. My fingers are crossed, hoping it'll finally happen before the end of teh year.

At one time I had a satellite internet system (through Hughes). The download was moderate, the upload wasn't much better than dial up. So those with satellite internet would be considered a slow connection. For instance, the VPN at my office wouldn't run on it. Just something to think about. I'm lucky that I was able to eventually get a cable connection. My neighbors could not and they use VerizonWireless MiFi. Faster than satellite, but all videos and pictures add up quick to the monthly data limit.

I have hi speed Braod band which works most of the time and is pretty good generally in terms of speed. But don't ask the specs! I haven't a clue. I have too specs - working, or not working! I must say, we have has 100% coverage here for a few years now!
