Talked to Lou and Jess on the phone after the show and they had a great time! Gave me a few details...

- Don was wearing basically the same outfit he wore in Utah.
- No new arrangements; the only cover he did was Everybody Wants to Rule the World
- Voice sounded a bit shaky at times but overall goood
- Seemed happy and in good spirits
- Did an impression of Jack Nicholson while telling the story about "Last Worthless Evening"
- Prefaced "Witchy Woman" with: "This isn't about Stevie Nicks. When I wrote this, I didn't even know her. Now.... I know her." [the last said in a deep voice. lol] Then he laughed silently.
- Some security guy asked him a question halfway through the show and Don said to him, "I'm kind of busy right now."
- He left quickly afterwards.

Of course, they'll fill this out more when they get a chance, but since they might not have access to a computer for a while, they wanted to make sure I let you guys know this tidbits right off!

Soda and I were on the phone last night when Jess and Lou called her, so she patched me in and we had a "four-way" going on. Jess and Lou, it was really fun talking to the two of you. Your excitement was very contagious and I am very happy for you both. I hope you have another wonderful excellent adventure at tonight's show, and we will all eagerly wait to hear from you. I'm sure you both will be very tired after it's all over, but I know it will be worth it. Give Don some love from your fellow Borderers.

I'm sat right next to Jess in the lobby of a hotel in Tulsa, and couldn't resist writing something too. We'll give you a proper write-up of the show tonight or tomorrow, but in short, it was incredible. That man is something else :fainting: We'd had a couple of drinks beforehand (necessary to steady my nerves) and had a lot of fun dancing and singing along. We got a few pictures, but my batteries went halfway through and I was too wrapped up in the show to find my spares.

We called Soda afterwards while we were sat in the parking lot, and told her and Dreamer bits and pieces about the show. I'm sure we were completely hyper and largely incoherent, but it was fun anyway. Great to hear their voices. I only wish they could have been with us too!

The weather was beautiful. Don was sniffing a bit and complaining about the lack of a summer in Oklahoma, while I was about ready to break out the suntan lotion. (Us Brits are easily pleased.) He seemed in a great mood and told a couple of cute stories. My only complaint is that it went by way too quickly!

Still, we still have tonight. And we're about ready to hit the road again. Last night really whetted my appetite, and I can't wait to get to WinStar. 3rd row center is going to be something extra special!

Usually i've got a ton of pics from the concerts to post but for the most part my mind was only focused on one thing...or one man!!! We didn't take many pictures and the ones that we did take didn't turn out all that great but here are the decent ones.

Jess,

What's that BLUE stuff up in the sky and what are those dark things on the ground behind everyone? I thought I saw some of those same symptoms yesterday (Sunday) but wasn't sure. Today, I'm seeing quite a bit of them and just wondered what they were?

:hilarious: Mike you crack me up.

We were so happy that the weather turned out nice considering that we had a few storms during the days leading up to it. We were prepared with rain gear because we thought it might have been raining that night because it was cloudy all day long until we left our hotel and was on our way to Downstream. Once we got there the sun was shining down on us. It was a bit chilly but other than that the weather was beautiful.

Well, I'm home, safe and sound. I still wish I was in Oklahoma, but I'm having fun loading up my pictures and just taking the whole experience in. It's surreal. This is one of the best things I have ever done. The only problem is that now I'm more crazy about Don than I ever was! ;)

I only got these two at Downstream. (I told you my batteries ran out!) Still, I love them. The jeans, jacket, plaid shirt... It's alllll good.

Troub, glad you made it home safe and sound! I had a feeling you would be crazier over Don once you saw him in concert, although you were quite crazy about him to begin with! :)
I'm so glad you had such a great time-you will cherish those memories always!
Thanks for posting the pics-they are wonderful!
When I saw the Eagles in November, I took so many pics, and only a few turned out. I was so upset, but then I told myself to be happy that at least some did come out-it could have been worse!

Lou,

I know you would have liked to have been able to take more pictures, but look at it this way: You were able to focus on the performance and not worry about focus and framing and all that! Your memory will and recollection of the experience will far outshine any pictures you may or may not have been able to take!

And, the ones you did get are GOOD! Thanks for sharing them. (And Don is still hanging onto the telecaster guitar <LOL>)

Yeah... It pretty much set in right after the second concert! I'm feeling good now though. Taking it all in and telling friends and family about it. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. (Well, I could, but I probably shouldn't go there!) ;)

You're right about the photos, Mike. We did get a few good shots, and the most important thing is that I enjoyed being 'in the moment'. It's difficult to take good pictures when you're dancing and singing your heart out!

Yeah... It pretty much set in right after the second concert!

This is true. Shortly after the concert was over, I remember seeing a sad look on Lou's face and asking her if she was okay. She told me she was just sad that the concerts were all over and that it all went by too fast. I feel the same way.

I managed to get some video at the Downstream concert. WARNING: There is some shakyness in these videos. I was trying to dance, sing, and record at the same time (not a good combo). Plus, the people's heads in front of us would get in my way every now and then and we also had quite a few people in our row trying to get by us so I had to move out of their way. A couple of times I got so wrapped up in watching Don that I forgot to focus my camera and I kinda recorded the top of the stage for a few seconds.

Aah, DF, that sky was indeed beautiful. (Almost a contender for my attention that night!) I remember glancing around during New York Minute, when I got all choked up, and, predictably, when Don sang "and gaze out at the auburn sky". It was one of those perfect moments, where everything just feels right. You know there's no place you'd rather be and that you'll remember this experience and this feeling for a long, long time

I know what you mean, Lou. I had a moment just like that the first time I heard Don sing NYM live too, except instead of an auburn sky we had rain. It was at an outdoor concert on a hot June night and it had rained right through his opening act and through the first few songs he sang, but then it stopped raining as the sun went down. By the time he sang NYM the night was dark and misty, "the groaning city in the gathering dark." I'll never forget that moment either.
