FIRST ROW guys. I got FIRST ROW. Right in front of Joe, within a stone's throw of Glenn. And it was SO AWESOME.

I'm actually kind of overwhelmed. Being up so close, I was afraid to take photos - besides I didn't want to think about anything but enjoying the moment. Hopefully other people got some lovely photos!

The crowd wasn't as into it as they were last night. It wasn't until Dirty Laundry that people started realizing they were at a rock concert. Once again, by Heartache Tonight, everyone was on their feet.

No Rocky Mountain Way and ASWTDID, but we did get Already Gone - yay!

Glenn was AMAZING, even more energetic and hot than last night. I know you probably think I'd say that regardless but it's true. He was 'on' from minute 1. Even the girl next to me, who prefers Don, got blown away by how sexy Glenn was. In the first half, he wore a black T-shirt and a colored overshirt, the same one he wore in Rome. After 'halftime' he wore a white T-shirt and a black overshirt. I think Don wore something red... actually I have to admit that right now my brain is kind of fried by the whole experience and I'm not sure what anyone was wearing except Glenn. Being up that close to him at a concert - well, it blew my mind. But I'll try to be as coherent as possible.

The other guys were great too, especially Joe. He and Glenn seemed very lively. I liked how Joe smiled and waved to the girls who were standing up trying to get on his helmet cam. Beforehand, he'd said 'I don't care what you do, just do SOMETHING.' I decided to go the shrieking and jumping route, lol, and was one of the ones rewarded with a smile! There were no extra frills to the songs that I noticed, although Glenn did that 'cloudy days' ad lib again. No mess ups - all the vocals and instrumentation was dead on. These guys have it down.

Nancy's moments: And here is why I'm REALLY freaking out. Glenn saw me and actually seemed to recognize me! I know I told you guys that I didn't want him to see me, and in truth at first I was embarrassed. There were times when I was standing up and not many around me were, and then he would occasionally squint over at me - I guess thinking 'Have I seen that odd girl before?' - and I would back up closer to my seat and try to get out of his line of sight. All the while I was thinking 'You're imagining it. He doesn't see you. He happens to be squinting in your direction. It's a coincidence. Don't worry about it.'

But finally, towards the very end when I was dancing around out in front, he actually winked at me. I turned to the girl next to me - 'Did he just wink at us?!' She said 'No, he winked at YOU!' Still, I couldn't believe it. I started glancing around to see if there were any cute girls or kids behind me. When I turned back, Glenn looked kind of frustrated and finally he just pointed at me. I was like 'SQUEEE!' and smiled a big stupid grin. I know something like is just a little thing, but it made my evening! This is especially true since I was worried that if he saw me and recognized me, he would get freaked out or something. I am so paranoid. Anyway, like I said, it blew my mind - sorry that my review is so sucky as a result! But it's just too much for me! AAAH!!!

Glenn: "Thanks, thanks...yah, I picked this up at the..Liberace garage sale, glad you like it..." ;)

I don't know - the more I think about it, the more I think maybe it was just coincidence, that he winked at me because I was dancing around and not because he recognized me. That seems too much to hope for, really. And nothing about me is striking or memorable!

Front row?!?!?!?!? That's fabulous! You probably wanted to run around screaming when you found out. (I know I did when I found out my seat in Bakersfield directly lined up with Timmy's mike.)

Not memorable? Don't sell yourself short!

Nancy, I know you hinted at this last night but this is awesome! He knows you for sure, and is being warm and charming! Sigh!

I have a few tales to tell from last night and will post them later. Suffice to say the whole experience has been mind blowing, and I am so glad I went! :pimp:

Nancy...great review! I am so glad you got front row and Glenn remembers you!!!!! So fantastic!!!

The show was great. Meeting Joe was unbelievable!!!! He is adorable. I was worried about where we were sitting but luckily they turned out to be pretty good seats. We were to the left of the stage (looking from the front) in the first row. Plenty of room to dance and we did! When we got there we started talking to a bloke who turned out to be Glenn's guitar tech. He was lovely and VERY friendly ;) He even gave us one of Glenn's guitar picks each... :D We had some very special moments. One being Joe waved to myself, Toonie and Midnight Girl during The Long Run. He had wanted to know where we were sitting when we met him. He also gave us a chance to shine during Life's Been Good, some may call it being shameless lol. Glenn laughed at us quite a bit and came over to the side of the stage and gave us a little dance!! http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eek.gif There were a couple of bad moments but they had nothing to do with the guys. No More Cloudy Days and Take It To The Limit were again excellent. It was so sweet of Glenn to dedicate NMCD to their kids on Father's Day...awwwww. I didn't want this show to end, it was so wonderful in many ways. Today it finally hit me that it is over. It was lovely meeting you guys and I am so glad that we all had a good time. Lets hope we can do it again one day :D

WM, Kate and Nancy -it's wonderful that you all had such a great time. Thanks for sharing all the details.

Nancy, you are just too hard on yourself. Whether or not Glenn actually recognized your face -that doesn't matter -he certainly recognized how much of a fan you are and I'm sure appreciated how much you were appreciating him!

Z, seems I do remember hearing that in Sacramento security had to ask some crazy woman wearing only body paint to stop running around and screaming "Anaconda, anaconda" and to please take her seat. You mean, that was you?

Actually Molly, I had the urge to run around screaming in Bakersfield when I was still quite innocent. It wasn't until after Sacramento (when I met Nancy, Kay and Lissa) that I became the way I am now.

Wembley 18 June

Well, I travelled home on the coach yesterday with a smile on my face, occasionally breaking into a grin as I was reminded of little details. No wonder no one wanted to sit next to me!

More about the concert later, but first I will relate a misadventure that resulted from bad forward planning and ignorance. After saying goodbye, Nancy and the others headed to the tube station, and I went to wait for a taxi. There were two other people waiting (from the USA) and we chatted. After 20 minutes there was no sign of any taxis. The other couple decide to take the tube. I didn’t really want to wait on my own, so decided to get the tube to my hotel. I got the tube for one stop, and chatted to a Canadian couple who had planned their holiday around the Eagles concert. So far so good. Here things started to go pear-shaped. I wasn’t exactly sure which way it was to the Travelodge and it was a busy road. Suffice to say I was wandering around alone for a while in a ‘no go’ area until a kind girl took pity on me and persuaded her boyfriend to give me a lift – I think my guardian angel sent her! Bless them, they took me right back to Wembley Arena – she had mistaken the Travelodge for the Travel Inn! They dropped me there and I thanked them profusely. I went into the lobby and called a taxi. No problem, but the taxi would 45 minutes and by now it was 11.45pm. While I sipped a welcome beer, I suddenly decided I couldn’t be bothered, so ended up checking into the Travel Inn where I had a very comfortable night, and only had to stroll across to the tube station in the morning.

That was the low. Now for the fun! Nancy and I had arranged to meet at her hotel, as the coach stopped near it at Earl’s Court. The coach was 25 minutes late at Plymouth, and I had to switch at Heathrow, but arrived only a couple of minutes late. When I got to the hotel Nancy wasn’t there, so I left my mobile number and thought I’d walk down the street and see if she was at the tube station. About halfway down I saw a girl walking towards me and it was Nancy! We had a great meet up, and after a preview of the Twickenham photos we left a message on Elsbeth’s phone and made our way to Wembley Park. Imagine our surprise when at the station exit, there were Elsbeth (Witchy Mummy), Ulrika (Toonlass) and Kathryn (timfan) waiting, also Ulli and Suus! Elsbeth hadn’t got our message so it was a real coincidence; they were waiting for Gemma (Midnight girl). It was great to meet everyone and exchange a few stories before we went to get a bite to eat. It was here where I discovered my camera battery was dead!

Elsbeth, Ulrika and Gemma had passes for the Joe meet and greet, so left us to get there in time. We walked over to the Arena, past the emerging new Wembley Stadium. The atmosphere outside the Arena was great; Eagles music playing over the loudspeakers, people running through the fountains and the sun came out! I met Charisse and Barbara for the first time – such fun to meet up with people you have ‘talked’ to on line! The Joe fans went in for the m&g, then Nancy went in to the ILAA reception, and Kathryn and I made our way towards our seats.

After getting an ‘official’ t-shirt, I got my seat – row 23 and to the outside left, but ok. The couple to my right were friendly and she had been to Twickenham as well (a true fan!). They both had binoculars too.

Ok, to cut to the chase, the concert. It was amazing. The crowd were really receptive. The girl next to me was a die hard Don fan and started to let it rip with TBOS when she was up and dancing. The people behind us didn’t seem to mind so I soon joined her! For me it was mind blowing to see the lighting and backdrop, and to be able to see the guys interact. I think the performance was even better than at Dublin and it’s hard to describe the excitement of hearing a live concert that is so good. All the guys seemed more relaxed. Glenn joked about the intimacy of the Wembley Arena after Twickers, said it was like being in his living room, got a good laugh (my mind went elsewhere). Through my bins I could see all his expressions and believe me, what Nancy says is true – that man is hot. In the first half he was wearing the Rome shirt over a black t-shirt. It was warm and you could see he was starting to sweat a little… His voice was better than ever.

During the interval I caught up with Nancy, and also met Junie who introduced me to Lisa and Melissa, so I pretty much met all the Eaglelanders there, which was great!

In the second half, the crowd really started to warm up. NMCD was beautiful, as was TITTL, which got a huge reception. Joe was outstanding on LBG (and I’m sure WM et al will give a full report!) Joe and Glenn shredding again on Funk#49 was amazing, as was Glenn’s solo on DL. Ok, after LBG, everyone around me was up on their feet and dancing and my view wasn’t as good, but the music was fantastic.

Then it came to Desperado. Only a few people had left, so I didn’t get the chance to upgrade. On Don’s last notes I decided to creep forwards, so got a good view of the group hug, then Glenn came over to my end of the stage, and I was within about three metres of him, and waving wildly, and he did a little thumbs up, realistically to all of us at the end, but it was very special. Then Don came over, and I was still waving, and he looked at me and smiled!

Lovely reviews! Glad you finally manged to get around to a hotel, Kate - sounds like the kind of thing that happens to me!

Anyway, I've been thinking, and I've decided to go ahead and assume he recognized me. ;) However, I no longer think he was pointing at me. There was a kid cattycorner to me and a little behind - he probably was pointing at her. Doesn't diminish my experience one bit though!

Kate, wonderful review!!! That sucks about the getting lost, though...I would've been freaking right out, hehe! Glad you finally found your way!!!

This show sounds incredible...and yah, I would've been getting some wonderful mental pictures of myself in Glenn's living room, at that comment... ;)

Nancy...you hush. ;) I do think he was pointing at you...that sounds almost exactly like what happened to me at the first concert I ever ever went to, I got waved at and then looked all around me to see who they were waving at, only to look back and get a finger pointed at me and then a very deliberate wave, LOL! If he could recall the Little Shrieking Girl for a month and a half, he could recall you whom he talked to and saw several times for twice as long. So just take it and enjoy it. :)

So glad you all had such a wonderful time!!!

I never worked out if the wink I saw in December 2004 was aimed at me. It was aimed in that general direction but I thought it was at the front row, not the second row. I know what Nancy means when she says you can't be sure and you don't want to flatter yourself that it was you. A few night earlier I had had a long stare at the beginning of ASW, and although I stared right back, I still wonder if it was in fact me he stared at.

No bad thing! Actually, Nancy and Kathryn took some group shots, they may appear in due course. I also managed a self portrait on Nancy's camera before I realised it was the wrong way round!!

I've edited my review bacause I completely missed mentioning that I met Lisa and Melissa and Junie as well. It's great to put faces to names, and well, the Eaglelanders are just a great bunch of people.

Sorry for my lack of clarity - I meant "it" being your photo, not that particular photo. You're right, that one hadn't been posted.

Actually, at first I was hesitant to post photos of anyone. A lot of people aren't comfortable with that. Then, I looked at the Texas Embassy thread on Eagleland. It seemed everyone was already up there, so I figured that green-lighted photo posting across the board. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

BTW, would you like me to remove the photo from Eagleland too?
