Well girls.......I'm home..... actually I got home last night. Now I'm under a bit of pressure workwise, so I'll leave you with a few tidbits and get back to do a proper review early next week.

Suffice to say .........
IT WAS WONDERFUL

The rain stopped about 5:30 pm and the sun was out by 7pm. It was warm and balmy and the rain kept off all night.

The lads looked FANTASTIC in their casual clothes. I'm going to post one of each now and will edit, improve, an post more later on.

The set list was NOT abridged in ANY way......we got everything that was in Belfast. Even 'Somebody' which has been dropped in some of the outdoor gigs.

Glenn  was at his best ever, charming, casual, and VERY humourous. He looked absolutely adorable.....:inlove:

Glenn  WHAT A Jacket

Timmy - Specially for you Willie!

And last but not least a man who needs no introduction......

I must have stayed on this post for about half an hour now, 'feasting my eyes' :smitten: You got some great shots! They all look so gorgeous. I love what Tim's wearing. And Don... I don't even think I need to comment! SO sexy.

Glenn is definitely Mr. Cool!

Glad you had such a great time. Can't wait for more.

As some of you know, that is my FAVORITE stance that Timothy takes on stage. That whole leg to the side, the other bent... OMG!!!

I have to admit, I even gasped a little at Don. Very nice.

Why oh why do they wear those dreadful suits? These pics alone are enough for anyone to clearly see why jeans are the way to go.

Lisa, I can't wait for your review. Dang blasted work!

Who woulda thunk it? Joe is the most conservatively dressed in his black jacket and dark wash jeans!

I think they all look fantastic - Glenn with his floral cuffs, Don in his faded jeans, Timothy in his vest doing his 'stance', and Joe, the epitome of a rock star! :inlove:

Looks like you had great seats GA - or did you get to go up to the stage to take pics?

I wasn't sure but now I am. Glenn's jacket is the one he wore at the press conference before the Andre Agassi benefit. I will post a photo of it. Love the pale blue shirt too. Thanks GA!!!

WOW!! My computer is still steaming :smokin: ...those are some great shots of all the guys, Lisa...some of the best of the LROOE tour, I must say!! All of them look stunning...I wish they'd done an outdoor show in beautiful downtown Newark, NJ ;)! I scanned those pix up and down, back and forth--and thoughts of what each Borderer would say came to my mind--and then I had to laugh as I read exactly what I thought y'all would say! (Well, all except FP and Andre Agassi...) Still waiting for Willie's comment on Timmy's right leg, too. Our boys look so much younger, cooler 8-), AND hotter  when they're in their rock star jeans...if they would only just realize it, and give in!!:inlove: I bet the concert was amazing, Lisa...can't wait to hear about it.

Seriously eaglesvet! These photos torture us with a taste of what might be every night, but instead is reserved only for the outdoors. :weep:

DON'T FIGHT THE HOTNESS GUYS! You know you secretly love it when the ladies feel faint before you even play a note! Heck, Glenn says that seeing women faint at a Beatles concert made him want to be a rock'n'roll star. So let go, guys! GIVE IN and LET YOUR HOTNESS BURN!

Hey - not so fast there, GA. You've got a few others that you are going to have to beat out if you want to "bag" Glenn. I've got my two Glenn pillowcases that I could use to bag him, not to mention a few bungee chords left over from Pebble Beach!

Well, Willie, we had to have something to tie Glenn down with when we put him in the trunk of the car ...

Now are you sorry you asked???

Sorry this review is a little later than I planned but better late than never....

My review of this performance starts at the unusual hour of 4am local time in Dublin when I was woken with a flash, a crash and a lot of rain..... Yes that famous thunderstorm that lashed 2 weeks of rain onto Dublin in an hour had commenced. My first thought as I woke was 'Oh NO the GIG'. I listened in anguish for the next hour or so as the thunder and lightening continued and all I could think about was the idea that water, lightning and sound equipment don't mix. 'What if its a washout? Christchurch? Shortened set lists?' All these thoughts were flooding through my mind and things were no better about 8am as the torrential rain continued to bucket down. Of course I was getting texts from people teasing me about the weather and one neighbour commented 'You have to have a crush on one of them to go ANYWHERE outdoor in that rain' me? Crush?
It cleared only slightly as the day progressed and I decided to abandon the fuschia coat in favour of my red mack. It was still raining as we left the house about 4pm although it had abated somewhat from the awful downpour of earlier. In fairness it was warm too so we didn't feel too bad. At least at this stage it looked like we might have a gig.

Well somebody above us was definitely looking down because as we arrived at the RDS it began to get noticably brighter and just as I started to collect the tickets (And Paul started to get some cash!) the sun began to sneak through the clouds. We didn't feel out of the woods completely but things were looking a lot better. The guy in the ticket van then told us he had no tickets for us, but then rechecked the ILAA email and eventually found them. I wasn't too worried because I had Helen (from ILAA)'s phone number. Anxiously I looked at them

ROW 11 Glenn  and Tims side Thank You Helen

Our 'Exclusive Eagles Gift' was a set of LROOE luggage tags. They'll do when we go on our 'Eagles Tour' to the States which Laura and I are already planning.

Once inside the ground I divested Paul of most of the cash he had obtained a few minutes earlier as I just HAD to get Chris a t-shirt, and the LROOE hoodie jacket and poster that I couldn't manage in Belfast. For the next hour we ate hot dogs drank coke and savoured the warm summer sun that had finally made its presence felt. We met quite a number of Eagles fans and then about 7pm made our way to the seated area. Now I had had to endure quite an amount of teasing from Paul over the last 7 months about the amount of money I spent on those tickets. Well he was GOBSMACKED when he saw our location and immediately took back EVERYTHING!!!!! They were spectacular. 11 rows from the stage with a clear view. While we settled and waited Laura and I saw Helen and thanked her for such good seats. She had remembered our 'Favourites' from Belfast and had done her best for us!

We took a few pictures and watched the tuners working on the lads' guitars, the sound guys and the lighting guys getting into place. This was chris's first concert and he was thrilled with all the excitement. Finally 730pm approached, the backing band took stage and we looked anxiously at the right hand side where we could see the EAGLES assembling. All I wanted to see was 'What's Glenn  wearing??????'
As they came out I wasn't disappointed. Glenn  looked fantastic in his jacket jeans and shades. IMHO he had just sliced another 15 years off his age and as I'm convinced he stuck at 40 it made him look about 25. Don looked resplendent in his black and white t-shirt and Jeans. Joe rocked in a black 'sparkly' top, black jscket and jeans, while Timmy sported a black t-shirt, black waistcoat and jeans. As expected to a loud cheer they launched into 'How Long' a major hit for them and one that everyone could sing along to if they so wished. Out came the camera, and it seemed there was no problem taking either pics or video footage, which continued through the show. Then Glenn  took the stage and gave his intro,
'Hello Dublin great to be back in this beautiful city, this beautiful country. It looks like the weather is going to co operate with us tonight'.
He said they were the 'Band who refused to die' and for our entertainment this evening they would play both old songs and new and that Timothy and Joe would take us out with the next 2 songs which were from from LROOE'

After that the first section of the gig went pretty much as usual. The audience were very vocal, appreciative and everyone's humour was fantastic. I think most people just couldn't believe that the weather had come up trumps after only s few hours previously. Laura and I were certainly delighted that nothing had been cut from the set list. Just before the break Don introduced 'The Long Run' and added the well documented story about the fire alarm going off in his hotel at 4am and wakening him. Also that in the 70's the party would only have been starting then. So it looks like I was in good company (in mind at least) earlier that day. I must confess I missed most of 'The Long Run' as nature called my little people and I thought it was more prudent to bring them to the bathroom then. I was right as there was an almighty queue once the interval began. I'd say we'd have missed much of the ballad section had we waited.

Just as the band took their 'stools'for the next part of the show ypurs truly hopeed out of her seat and walked right up to take a close up pic of the boys. I managed one, then as I took the second felt a pair of (male) hands grip my waist. Sadly it wasn't Glenn . It was a security guard who literally turned me 180 degrees and pointed me my seat. But it was all very good humoured. I think Glenn  must have seen everything! :hilarious:

So that was the first part of the evening. As I don't want to rush it I'll do the second part in the next day or so when I get a bit of spare time.

We seem to have two threads for both Dublin & Birmingham, so perhaps Soda could merge them.

Thanks again everybody for all the wonderful comments and compliments. Because the threads have been merged its difficult to respond to the individual comments but rest assured I appreciate them all and the great bunch of people who come here.

Now I'll attempt part 2....

As most of you remember part 2 started with me being 'turned' and 'redirected' to my seat. However the manner in which ir was done was more funny than embarassing. It seemed these guys had been detailed to keep us pretty much in our seats but they were very good humoured and took to the spirit of the gig very well. Anyway with the twilight starting to approach the boys began their seated section and as expected played NMWIWW followed by WITW. I'm at the stage now where I'm remembering the backdrops to the indivual songs on the tour, and WITW is one of the most spectacular. I hope if they bring out a dvd after the tour ends that they will include this (Ie before F2 tour ). Glenn  as before thanked both Don and gave mention to Steuart who of course composed WITW and then went on to introduce 'A song that has special meaning for us here tonight...... No More Cloudy Days'. The crowd certainly DID see the humourous side of that comment. And Glenn  sang it so beautifully, with that gorgeous sky background. After that of course it was Timmy's turn to give a little intro and he talked first about spending a week in the 'beautiful Irish Countryside' and commenting that his wife's family was originally from Co Derry. Of course that gave him a big cheer. he said his next song was written by Paul Carrack who also sand 'Tampted by the fruit of another......' singing it along to Glenn  and Dons accompaniment for a few seconds. he then said they would do something from 'Hell Freezes Over' and went into LWKUA. Glenn  then introduced the last song while they were seated, deviating slightly from his usual introduction. 'Our wives call this the credit card song....' It seems Dublin has NOT heard that joke in a while judging from the level of applause and laughter Glenn  got. It was a lovely mellow song to finish on.
Now Laura and I were a little anxious as we had heard that they sometimes drop the next 2 songs, but no, they did LROOE in its full entirety with all its thought provoking background imagery which it was now dark enough to see. I wasn't really expecting 'Somebody' as it seemed to have been dropped in all the outdoor gigs so far this summer. Glenn  must have known I was in the audience and wanted it . Lets just say Laura and I FREAKED OUT when those first three notes sounded and once again Glenn  ROCKED it. I dunno, but it is just such a sexy daring song, and he sings it perfectly. However I still would be quite happy to meet him up a dark alley some night....

After that of course came OOTN followed by the band introductions which took the same format as the Belfast intros. Glenn  looked and sounded genuine and adorable as he gave everyone in his back up band a compliment as he introduced them, finally moving to Timothy, who in turn introduced Glenn . Glenn  took back over and introduced Don and Joe after which Joe took off with LBG. I love where he sings 'They send me emails, tell me Glenn's great' And Glenn  has the courtesy to look a bit sheepish. Joe also put out the helmet cam for some of this song which got the crowd cheering more. It was getting very funny, the stewards wanted us to sit down, then Timmy pranced across the stage waving his hands at us to stand up and clap, which we all duly did. At that point the stewards gave up and only started at the people who were standing on chairs givibng their OH's piggybacks (which I suppose WAS a little dangerous) DL followed with Don in great singing form. Glenn  and Joe then did their 'thing' where they sparred off each other on the guitars, Joe eventually winning out. Cue Funk #49 with its large coulorful images in the background. These alternated between guitars and fish, with each Eagle made into a swimmer. Hard to describe but very interesting to watch. I'll post a pic.
Glenn  then took the lead for 'Heartache Tonight' one of hubby's favourites as well as mine and we all joined in once again, as darkness was taking hold of the arena. The 'main' concert finished with a riproaring LITFL and with the fast imagery behind we really felt we were in the fastlane with the Eagles. Of course I'd have stayed there all night listening to them......
After a short break of course they were back out and Glenn  thanked all the audience 'VERY VERY MUCH' . As in Belfast you could see that this was very genuine and that Glenn  (and the others I presume) are really gratefulto the audiences of all ages who come out to see them in all weathers. Anyway, of course it was time for TIE which I always is a very joyful celebration of what it is to be an Eagles fan, and it pulls the whole crowd together. We all have our favourite Eagles and favourite songs, but this is pected, like an anthem. As expected, they retreated afterward to the strains of 'More' 'Encore' 'Eagles' 'We wantcha Glenn :heart' etc' and sure enough they were back out. Don took the front of the stage and sang 'Desperado' as the finale of a wonderful night.
Afterwards they bowed to all corners of the crowd from the stage and lingered a few minutes (Though I didn't see any picks this time) while we started making our way to the exits to the sounds of 'Billie Jean' on the sound system. Of course they went before we did, (catch me leaving ANYWHERE if Glenn  was still known to be there!!)

But it was a great night. I have hubby totally converted to both the band and the ILAA. It started to rain again on the way home and then the car started to act up and we were lucky to make it home......

Thank you for a wonderful week Eagles

Glenn Frey :iloveyou: forever.

As this is already quite long I'll put some pics in the next post

The fellas looked AMAZING in their jeans & cool shades........they simply oozed with sex appeal.

As Lisa's review is so good I won't try to compete; I'll just post photos soon. There should be a few of each of the Eagles & some of the other fellas......plus more than enough of Will, I expect!

Hi,

At last, here are my Dublin photos.

The security guys were semi-strict on use of cameras - they seemed to let people take some photos during the first few songs but then they started telling people not to. I managed to get quite a few though, when they weren't looking my way. I also used camera binoculars and as we were in the 3rd row they were close up shots, so I've included some of those as well. I took over 500 with the camera binoculars(as you can never be sure what they will turn out like). About 340 came out OK, but about 200 were of Will Hollis!! (surprise). Don't worry, I haven't posted all of them!
I must apologise to Timothy fans. I did take close ups of Timothy, but they all came out really light. I think it must have been where the sun was shining on the stage at the time.

Here are 3 which I hope will get you interested enough to go to the link below & view the rest.

p.s. We had a great time at the show. At the ILAA pre-show party raffle I won a set of Joe Walsh guitar strings.
The food was excellent. The weather turned out sunny for the show, even though it had been showery all day. They guys looked great in their casual clothes and cool shades. 8)The show sounded good and the guys were in good spirits, except for Will, who looked distinctly 'under the weather'.:ack: He was the last to take his shades off & left the stage at the end of the main set in a real hurry, without even a wave to the crowd.
Only 1 encore at this show, but never mind - the atmosphere was really good, and we all enjoyed it. :applause::applause:Happy memories.

The camera binoculars work best at outdoor shows. Indoors can be a bit hit & miss. It depends on the lighting. The ones I took at the indoor show in Birmingham are not so good, but some are OK.
They're a good thing to have when the camera Nazi are around!

Yes, Will hasn't been looking very happy. He's not big on smiling at the best of times but I think he must have been unwell during the Ireland shows. At the Dublin show, at the end of 'I can't tell you why', Joe turned to Will, said something, then patted Will on the shoulder.
The European leg of the tour has been the longest time without them going home - they just had a 10 day break before Ireland for a rest.
I guess being in hotels, airports, train stations etc you pick up every bug going, especially if you're a bit tired.
Anyway, they should be back at home now, and can get a well-earned rest.
