ok are we thinking the eagles will tour again. There is mixed reactions to this lol last concert fwt1 everyone thought that be last one, then they came back thank god.
people seem to think the prolonged waving blowing kisses and thank yous to the fans at end of each concerts means they won't be back to europe again. Im guessing oz and asia will be the same.

i dont want to say they wont be back im hoping that t hey will be. time they get done with this tour they be 62-63, so guess looks mor like eagles wont be touring again after this tour.

im hoping that they tour one last time in 3 or 4 years time. whats everyone elses thoughts.

They had better tour sooner than that.Or my sanity will be gone. There's always the possibilty of solo gigs as well. If they are in the States a bit of 'relocation' may be necessary.

Here is my honest answer. LROOE may very well be their last studio album. However, I hope and pray they will do just one more! Even if it's just an LP w/five or six songs. If they do that, they can tour one more time to support that! That is my "hope".

Now, let's say they do not make any new music available to the public. I want to believe, in my heart of hearts, that about a year or so after they finish LROOE tour they will miss the feeling they've know all of their adult lives, which is being on stage and performing for their fans.

I want to believe their egos will take over and they will want to tour! I don't mean "ego" in a bad way either. Only, they have, for the past almost 40 years had their egos feed by the roar of the crowd. There has to be something to that. It reminds me of how Don said, (paraphrasing) "you pick up an instrument to fit in" and Timothy saying, "it's like, look at me, look what I can do". They are musicians, I want to believe they will miss being on stage and performing. So, I'm going to go on a wish and prayer and say I hope they tour again and I think it could be a good possiblity.

For what it's worth:

I think they will be touring as long as they are physically able. I really do not think that they are making this LROE tour just to promote the record sales of LROE. They may take a break for a year or two, but they are just too much in demand by those who appreciate music. Yesh, they are selling out venue after venue and most of the concert consists of old Eagles tunes.

They'll be back. No doubt in my mind.

But I do hope that they do have enough "interlude" so that the individuals in the Band can do some Solo work whether it be in the Studio or on Mini Tours.

I'd really give a lot to see Barnstorm reunite for a Season or Two!

With the recent release of Don's "Best Of" set and Timothy on the brink of releasing a new solo effort in the fall, I suspect they'll be doing some solo gigs after LROOE draws to a close. But I'm sure we've all heard/read the interviews in which they've all said despite LROOE being a double album, they have a lot more material that didn't make it to disc this time around. Maybe there IS a chance for one more studio release....it's hard to say.

I agree with Lighthouse that the rush of a live audience and the accolades of the fans has got to be a real pull for these guys. And I suspect they genuinely understand and appreciate that without the fan support and adoration, they may never have achieved the success and popularity status they have so rightfully earned and deserve.

Looking ahead, I think we'll see some more U.S. shows after Europe (although nothing is showing on the website yet), probably rolling into early to mid-2010. After that ..... all I can say is, LIGHT A CANDLE AND SAY YOUR PRAYERS. I would be heartbroken if this was the end of that road.

They will tour again, because as I think I said elsewhere, they have not been to Asia and Australia since 2004.

I think it's time that Glenn in particular did some solo shows. No, they won't be in Australia :ack: but it would be nice if he did some.

I've only seen them perform once in all the years I've been a fan. Fortunately was able to catch Don perform in brief amount of time from our Eagles show. I certainly hope to see them at least one more time before it's all over. Will travel within reasonable distance if need be.

I think all of them will stay in music, either together or as solo acts. Joe has said several times that he feels that he was born to play music. Don has his new CD out. Tim has a CD coming out soon I hope. Glenn and Deacon seems to be having fun playing music together. As a group they act like they are enjoying themselves and get along better than ever. They are still selling out concerts and making great money.

I found two video's last night that blew me away! Someone recently decided to share his 1998 recordings of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performances with ALL SEVEN EAGLES together on stage. The video is in super condition. They do Hotel California and Take It Easy. They can be found on Youtube! All of Don's fans (like me) will especially like the close ups. I don't know how to link them to this sight, so you will have find them. Sorry. If you have not seen these ,you must check them out. Enjoy!

It's difficult for me to speculate on another tour when, as FP said, they still have to finish this tour - Asia, Australia, and the U.S. West Coast. Although I'm always joyful when a Borderer gets to see them, my heart goes out to the ones who are still waiting...

Hi All,
Personally i think the LROOE will be their very last world tour....and i really hope i'm wrong but don't think so.:-(

In 4 years time Henley and Frey will be around 65 and although they have greater energy on stage now than ever before, i think another world tour in 4-5 years time will be expecting way too much from them but.......

Deacon Frey is an up and coming guitar player/singer and Will Henley is an up and coming Drummer/singer so maybe we have'nt seen the last of the Eagles.

Its all about `The Long Run'.

well im hoping t hey do tour, there was a great review in scottish daily mail tody gve them 4 out 5. vey complimenting don and joe . he says going by there performance he and other fans hope they stay around lil longer.

i for one hope they do stick around longer. there performance are great.

wat is up wa the crowds though at these concerts lol. the band always seems to start lil slow to begi with as does crowd then few songs in things really get going with crowd and band lol.
eagles concerts need to be all standing, cause seats just encourae people to sit. as do security with there threats of throwning you out if you dont sit. im guessing people listened to tim when he was waving for crowds to keep standing when security doing this.
yu get soe fans that will stand no matter what like me, and others who like to sit. you get that all concerts.

whats wa the roadies younever see them smiling lol. i have noticed tht even on fwt1 they never smiled either lol. tim dont smile enough either.

I don't like sitting at a concert either, but the Eagles have a well rounded audience, those who are up in years shouldn't be expected to have to stand for the entire 3 hr set. Now should they have a section up front for those who do desire to stand the entire show, yes. I'd hate to see the ticket prices for that section though.

scottishlass
07-12-2009, 09:30 AM
yes i do agree wa that, but u get some people who just sit period lol.

im sure the eagles dont mind people sitting during there concerts, but when someone behind you moans cause ure standing dancing. i just tell them well, not my problem u lazy git that you want to sit down all concert. there for they have to stand up lol, u look at them later and there dancing lol.

yes there was seats down front that cost alot. there should be half and half on pitch. you get the drunks there to who your happy to see siting, cause we had one in 2006 at hampden omg, this woman was annoyingto say the least. then you got one running down isle flashing lol. she was heading down to joe with his cam hat, but she got lost in the crowd some where, she was drunk

just cause u sit i suppose dont mean your not enjoying it, just cause band dont smile all concert all the time, dont mean there not enjoying either
thinkthey enjoyed most places they played as has the crowds..

hope they come bck to uk soon.

I don't think they will hang it up any time soon. They know how to pace themselves. They have a general set that holds the attention of the crowd no matter where they've gone or how often they go to certain cities. People are still in love with their music even if the classics get the most attention the fact is people still want to see them perform older and new songs alike. And until they get to where they physically can't then is when we may see them less and less.

Joe has described himself as a valid creative statesman. I think that all of the Eagles have stated in one way or other that they do not want to appear "silly" on stage as some bands do as they age. I think they are very conscious of that, and it will partially dictate how much longer they perform live. Perhaps they gauge themselves to other artists who are still performing in their sixties and look great - look at Paul McCartney!

I'm going to say, if they are selling out stadiums world wide, they probably don't think they look too silly now... and hopefully think they all have a good few years left in them.

Personally, I hope that, "if they will play, the people will come" is part of their motto. :)

Just read in an austrian newspaper that the O2 Arena in London is trying to fill the many dates reserved for Michael Jackson next year. It is rumoured that Robbie Williams and Whitney Houston will play their comebacks there.

Could that be a chance to see the Eagles there too ?

I'd be surprised but since the O2 is one of Irving Azoff's projects, it's a possibility.

As they played 4 shows in London in March 2008 it is really a chance for me to daydream about seeing the guys there next year. And I swear: I would buy tickets for every single show !

Yep! I've heard that about Robbie Williams and Whitney Houston as well. Also They left London out of the 09 tour, presumably because Jackson would have been in the O2 and it wouldn't have been available to them in early July when they did Ireland and the UK.

Those dates were for this year, not next year. The Eagles have just finished Europe.

I think those guys love playing live, so I hope they will tour again.

So-called age doesn't really mean much these days. I think it's great if musicians who still love their craft continue to work. Why should you give it up if you are still inspired to play and write music?

I haven't seen them live and would really like to.

Was just reading Timothy's Facebook interview and he mentions the Eagles hitting the road next year (2010) at some point, just no specifics. What a relief to have some sort of generic confirmation from someone "in the know"!

"62-63" is nothing; (a) just a number, and (b) certainly not old, particularly by today's standards. Take Levon Helm and Willie Nelson, who become incrimentally cooler with each passing year. I hope they never stop.

I think Willie is 75 and when people ask him when is he going to retire, he telled them, that he love playing music and playing golf and he doesn't plan on giving either one up. In an interview Joe was quoted as saying that he was put on this planet to play music so it doesn't sound like he plans to retire any time soon. I think it all depends on how his health holds up and right now he seems to be in a better life style than years prior when he was drinking.

Unrelated but a little story about Levon Helm. I have a friend named Starla who is a dancer and bit part actress who used to live a couple of doors down and now lives out of state. As a child she played in a movie called The Dollmaker with Jane Fonda and Levon as their daughter. She kept in touch periodically with Levon. One day about 7 or 8 years ago, I was at her house when the phone rang and she was busy with one of the kids so screamed for me to get it, it was him. I about fainted. He was going to be in Chicago and wanted to know if her and hubby would like to come over and meet up with him. Of course I knew he had played in the movie but all I could think of was I'm talking to a member of The Band! He was really nice and funny.

Sorry, I digress. Just had to name drop a bit. :hilarious: Anyways, on with the thread topic....

I for one would flip out if the Eagles decided to tour again. If anyone can get Don Henley tickets fro his upcoming tour, go for it! His performances are like a mini Eagles concert. When I saw him in '07 he was accompamied by Stuart Smith, Scott Crago, and Will Hollis. We (TT and I) met Smith, Hollis and Crago after one of the Eagles' shows at the Borgata.

He is appearing in Atlantic City on Novemeber 14, but the Casino (Ceasers) put the tickets up for pre sale to their premium club members. When I logged on and tried to buy themthey were gone in less than 60 seconds! Maybe my luck ran out.

I check all of their individual sites regularly but for now all is quiet. I am sure they will not remain quiet for long.

All of their sites.... yes, three of them.

Actually I suppose there are four sites if you count eaglesband.com. Any tour dates will be announced there, not on the DH/TBS/JW sites.
