I'm not sure who everyone is but here's who I do know:
Back row: Mary Beth McLemore, unknown, Tommy Nixon, Glenn Frey, unknown, unknown
Front row: Steve Melton-engineer, David Hood-Bass, Wayne Perkins-guitar, Roger Hawkins-drums, Duncan Cameron-guitar

And a couple of pics inside the studio along the Tennessee River:

I am sorry, but I do not see Glenn in that first picture.

He is top row center, hiding under that hat, third from the right. That studio used to be a naval reserve station so they must have done some digging and found those outfits. Duncan Cameron is a great guitarist and in the pic, he is wearing a pilots outfit. Fitting because he is now a pilot for one of the airlines. What a way to make a living!!!

Thanks for posting those pictures--I have never seen them before. I live in Alabama and was actually in Muscle Shoals two weekends ago when I was in Huntsville helping to take care of my mother. Next time I will try to locate that sound studio.

Muscle Shoals was famous in the 60s when some of the R&B that Glenn loves so much was recorded there. I think he said he may have also gone there because Paul Simon recorded There Goes Rhymin' Simon there, but frankly I don't know if the studio is still operating.

I am familiar with the photos but thanks for posting them. I have always loved the ones where he's singing.

Thanks for giving some of the names that go with the faces in that first photo - I always wondered who they were.

BTW - doesn't Glenn look like Scott Bakula there? I had to do a double take!

I knew he reminded me of someone in that picture. Thanks, Soda. That's who it was.

It' hilarious to see them in their fatigues and wearing sneakers and sandals. I could've sworn that the guy in the middle of the bottom row was Danny Kortchmar who played on a lot of Glenn's solo stuff as well as Don Henley's. David Hood, the bass player for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section helped me out with that one. He said, "That's not Kootch, that's Wayne Perkins. I hope he doesn't tell Wayne that a fellow Perkins didn't recognize him but it has been almost 30 years. By the way, Hood didn't recognize himself at first because he didn't have a beard back then.

It's easy to find the original Muscle Shoals Sound Studio but it can be confusing because it is actually in Sheffield. FAME (Florence Alabama Music Enterprises) is actually in Muscle Shoals. The original MSSS used to be a casket factory and it's located right across the street from a cemetary at 3614 Jackson Hwy. That's where Glenn and Seger first worked. It is now a museum and for all the people who say it's haunted? I won't argue with them. This is a pic:

Of course that's Cher in front. Behind her you can see Sonny wearing an Alabama shirt with Bear Bryant on it. Second from the right, beside Tom Dowd is Donna Jean Thatcher who was in the Grateful Dead for many years before coming back home to Florence.

The studio Frey recorded his 80's albums is down on the banks of the Tennessee River. It is now a movie studio and it's a little harder to find.

Thanks for identifying some of the guys in that pic for us kperk. I always knew it was Glenn and Tommy Nixon, but I never knew who any of the other guys were.
