Happy Halloween everyone!! Just for fun, here are a few Halloween quotes!

One need not be a chamber to be haunted; One need not be a house; The brain has corridors surpassing material place. -- Emily Dickinson

You can't kill the Boogeyman. -- Tommy Doyle, "Halloween"

There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin. -- Linus Van Pelt, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

Why do you want to live? If you would learn just a little from me, you would not beg to live. I am rumor. It is a blessed condition, believe me. To be whispered about at street corners. To live in other people's dreams, but not to have to be. Do you understand? -- Candyman, "Candyman"

Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing, For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. -- William Shakespeare, "Macbeth"

My candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open... -- Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

I have to go now, Clarice; I'm having an old friend for dinner. -- Hannibal Lecter, "The Silence of the Lambs"

Where there is no imagination, there is no horror. -- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "A Study In Scarlet"

We all go a little mad sometimes. -- Norman Bates, "Psycho"

In the streets on Halloween
The spirits will arise
Make your choice
It's hell or paradise -- Helloween, "Halloween"

Sarah just left with Cliff for trick or treating. She was pretty dramatic about the make up so we minimalized that part and let the costume do the talking...

We get hardly any Trick-R-Treaters any more. Guess either parents don't have the time for their kids or they are too scared for their safety.

Anyway, Amanda brought Miles over and we had a couple of nephews come by.

Here's Miles

Hope everybody had a wonderful Halloween!! Wish mine could've been more eventful but I had to work. I did get to see a few customers wearing some pretty interesting costumes. I dealt to a ladybug and a pimp at the same table :hilarious:. Thanks to daylight savings time, i had to stay an extra hour. Oh well, more for the paycheck.

Sarah and Miles' customes look great. Sooo adorable!

Aw, such cute kids!

I went over to my friend's and got all dolled up for the first time in a long time (usually I just smack on a witch's dress and hat). She painted my face up and I looked even scarier than usual. ;) I guess that makeup made me look younger because when I went to buy some alcohol, not only did I get carded, the guy actually thought the ID was fake! He looked at my birth date suspiciously than asked me to take the driver's license out so he could run it through a scanner. I was like "AWESOME"! lol

Hope everybody's Halloween was fun and safe.

Great quotes Ticky. And thanks for the pictures, both you and Mike. The kids look adorable! (I'm sure that's not the look they were going for but...) :hilarious:

Soda, now we're never going to get you out of that makeup!

Mike, Miles is so cute as a pirate.

Nancy, what kind of face paint was that that you used? :hilarious:

We only had 48 kids. We usually have over 120! I don't know what happened. Maybe it's the H1N1 scare. The national news was warning about the threat & advising parents what to instruct their childen to do when they go trick or treating to reduce their chances of catching the virus. The news is making everyone paranoid! However, those that did come had some really cute costumes. There seemed to be more effort put into them this year. My favourite was a little girl dressed as a skunk.

Miles and Sarah are very cute! Thanks for showing us those!

Loved the quotes Ticky! Very creepy!

I didn't even have one trick or treater. We live in the boonies and off the beaten path. Nieces and nephews used to come, but they've grown out of it! I really miss them!

We only had about 20 kids show up for Trick or Treat. So disappointing!
We usually have around 50 or 60.

I wonder, also, if it has something to do with all the bugs going around.

Well - I got somewhat of a break this year, but not much. One of my neighbors usually decorates for Halloween (and Christmas) very extravagantly. Of course, word has gotten around about the house over the years, so it is usually a main attraction, and brings hoards of 'trick or treaters' to our street. But for some reason, they didn't decorate this year. I still don't know why. However, apparently a lot of people hadn't gotten the word, so we still had a lot of activity. However, it wasn't quite as heavy as years past.

And ticky and Mike, Sarah and Miles are so cute in their costumes.

Love the costumes on Sarah & Miles!

Boy-we didn't fare as lucky as the rest of you. We really put out the candy. Had about 250 pieces of candy and ran out with a half hour left to go. Sorry kids! I swear I only had 2 3 Muskateers while handing it out so it wasn't me! :hilarious: Some cute costumes. One family had 3 kids and the mother had made out of boxes a train car for each of them, one was the engine, one was the coal car, one a regular train car and then the caboose. Too cute. Must be nice to be that talented.

Here's a pic of my nephew and his son. I had to crack up when I saw them walking down the road. Bad taste perhaps but he looked so good!

Love the pictures! Awesome costumes, and the kiddies are all so cute.

I was working on Hallowe'en, although I was due to take one of my service users to a Led Zeppelin tribute concert. Unfortunately the lead singer was ill, so it was cancelled - but we went for a (soft) drink at the pub instead! It was fun seeing everyone dressed up. It seemed like people really got into it this year.

Troub, people really got into it around here too, not just the kids. I saw a lot of people on the street & working in stores who were dressed up.
