Just want everyone to be aware of the latest computer scam:

I had this thing take over my computer at work and it's now in the shop getting fixed. :enraged:

If you get a pop up on your screen that says you have a virus and would you like for your antivirus software to block it-don't believe it! It makes you think that it's from your software, but if you click on it-it's the virus! And it's nearly impossible for you to fix on your own.

Be on the look out!

I think the same thing may have happened to my mom's computer because now hers has a virus. I tried to use the anti-virus software that I paid for when I first got it for her but I don't think that she's scanned her computer with it like she's supposed to. I would scan it whenever I would go back to visit my parents but that's only about once or twice a month. She doesn't know how it happened but now she needs to take it in to fix the problem. I'd do it for her if I knew how but I'm not that computer savvy. I know a little bit but not enough to fix a computer virus.
