I am listening to Glenn's "Live" CD and whenever I hear it I wonder why Don never released a 'live' album. I'm going to have to give this some thought myself, but if you could make your own "Don Henley Live" CD with about 14 - 16 tracks, what would you include?

Ooh! Just to clarify - only Don solo songs, no Eagles stuff?

I say you can include anything you want ... Eagles stuff, duets, and/or covers are allowed.

I was just halfway through my solo list... Now that makes things a lot harder! But a lot more fun, too. ;) Okay. Back to the drawing board...

Okay, this is my tracklist. I have chosen what I would like to hear, so I'll admit it's fairly ballad-heavy... and doesn't include a couple of the bigger hits (eg: Dirty Laundry). But I would be extremely happy if Don released a live album consisting of these songs.

1. Boys Of Summer (the slowed-down rendition from Storytellers. Sigh.)
2. Not Enough Love In The World
3. The End Of The Innocence
4. Sunset Grill
5. I Will Not Go Quietly
6. Wasted Time
7. The Last Worthless Evening
8. Leather And Lace
9. New York Minute
10. You Don’t Know Me At All
11. Talking To The Moon
12. Break Each Other’s Hearts Again
13. Lilah
14. Come Rain Or Come Shine
15. The Heart Of The Matter
16. Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ The Boat

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else picks.

Argh! I forgot to include Don's live version of Too Far Gone... :fainting: Can I have a bonus track? Pretty please?

I doubt I can put this in any sort of 'concert' order but I would include:

Witchy Woman
One Of These Nights
Dirty Laundry
The Boys Of Summer
The End Of The Innocence
You Don't Know Me At All
The Last Worthless Evening
Little Tin God
Political Science
I'm The Fool *
Talking To The Moon
Lilah
The Heart Of The Matter
Damn It, Rose
Miss Ghost
Hotel California

* I could hardly leave this out. Such impeccable taste. I would just like to hear him do it.

I am aware that this doesn't bear much resemblance to a real Henley show. I know diehards will say 'where's IWNGQ? Where's Desperado'? Really, I think I would be happy with this track listing.

I might go and make up an alternative listing for Glenn later.

Don did release the Inside Job DVD, of course.

Hmm, I'll have to give this one some thought!

Lou! I can see this was a labour of love. and you have made a fantastic selection. I love them.

Julie, yours is brilliant too and you are right not including songs just because people expect them to be there. At the end of the day its what is personal to you that matters and that you are happy.

I don't think I'd have enough knowledge of Don's solo work to do this justice, though I may try. Although since becoming friends with Lou, my knowledge of same has VASTLY improved!!

Julie....... BRILLIANT idea for Glenn  Now that is something I would LOVE to get my teeth into as well.

Okay - this was really tough, but I as I usually do when making these kind of lists, I tried to stay with what I thought was kind of realistic rather than a real 'wish' list. I tried to put them somewhat in order, but I would probably 'tweek' it a little more.

1. The Boys Of Summer
2. One of These Nights
3. The End Of The Innocence
4. Dirty Laundry
5. Taking You Home
6. I Will Not Go Quietly
7. The Last Worthless Evening
8. Everybody Wants To Rule the World
9. Leather And Lace
10. Lilah
11. New York Minute
12. You Don’t Know Me At All
13. Talking To the Moon
14. All She Wants To Do Is Dance
15. The Heart Of The Matter
16. Hotel California

OK, my Henley Live Album:

Boys of Summer
All She Wants to Do Is Dance
Those Shoes
Not Enough Love in the World
Last Worthless Evening
Heart of the Matter
Talking to the Moon
Lilah
New York Minute
Taking You Home
End of the Innocence
Sunset Grill
Dirty Laundry
You Don't Know Me at All
I Will Not Go Quietly
Leather and Lace (with special guest star Stevie Nicks) ;)

And no, I didn't put Hotel California, LITFL or Desperado because they don't sound as good solo - plus, I can always play the Eagles live album if I wanna hear 'em.

The Eagles songs I included were my 'concession' to realism. However, I did not include any LROOE songs because to me all Don's LROOE songs are 'Eagles' songs that would not work without the Eagles - not even Waiting In The Weeds, which needs the Eagles' harmonies. Such a contrast to Glenn's LROOE songs.

After much thought and in no order:

Boys of Summer
Wasted Time
Lilah
Talking to The Moon
New York Minute
Leather And Lace
The End Of The Innocence
Sunset Grill
Not Enough Love In The World
The Heart Of The Matter
One of These Nights
Desperado
Little Tin God
Everybody Wants To Rule the World
Damn It, Rose
Hotel California

That was really hard (my mom and i had to work on this together lol)
