Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Sacramento-raised Timothy B. Schmit, all in fine voice – or as fine as Walsh's gets – wowed a crowd ...

Hey! :eyebrow:

And no closeups of Timothy. What's up with that?

Glenn looks great in his purple shirt and I agree with everybody that Don's hair is looking good!

Thanks for finding it Koala. Pictures are beautiful, even if there isn't one single one of Timothy-not that I'm bitter about that. :eyebrow: Going over and see if CL has posted pics yet---know I can depend on her for some Timothy lovin'!:hilarious:

Wow.. Great find Koala! (how's your knee feeling?)
I think Glenn looks great in purple and Don's hair is perfect!! I am disappointed there arent any pictures of Tim but Joe looks HOT! *G* I cant wait to read what Cami has to say!!!
As far as the review goes... Who cares about "Lisa Ewing"'s 50th birthday? There was more in there about her and her friends then about the guys! But then this woman was dissin' my man's voice!! Obviously all her taste is in her mouth. Not to mention that this Ewing person and her friends jumped seats! I guess We're paying $170 for nothing since that seems to be OKAY?? :eyebrow:

The guys look amazing! I mean, really great. Pic #4 of Glenn... Oh My! Lovin' Don's hair too. As usual, poor beautiful Timothy gets the shaft. Seriously people, he IS part of the band. I get that he doesn't have the 'big' name as the others do... but c'mon!

OMG - those pics are incredible. Make no mistake about it folks, these guys are some mighty fine looking 60-somethings! Love Glenn's purple shirt almost as much as the fuschia one, Don's hair length is looking great, and I even like Joe's hair length now that he isn't slicking it all back with gel. But, I am in total agreement that it is inexplicable that this Sacramento publication would not include a picture of their very own 'white boy'!

When he later drew a raucous response during band-member introductions, Schmit appeared truly touched, thanking the audience for making his mom proud.

The show last night was AWESOME! From my 4th row center seat they all looked and sounded fabulous. I loved being so close to them and I hope my pictures turned out ok... we shall see when I get home.

The show started a little bit late but they guys made up for it by playing until almost 11:45 pm. They started with Seven Bridges Road and ended with a four song encore that included Take It Easy, Rocky Mountain Way, All She Wants to Do is Dance, and Desperado. And of course, in between, were selections from LROOE and the past. I kept track of the entire set list if anyone wants to know what it is. I was thrilled that No More Cloudy Days was in the line up tonight. And i have to say that hearing No More Walks in the Woods and Long Road Out of Eden performed live brought me a whole new appreciation for those songs which are ones I will occasionally pass up when I listen to their album. Don's voice was really spot on last night and when he sang Waiting in the Weeds it was amazing.

For all you Tim fans you will be happy to know that even though the Sac Bee didn't give him much love the crowd did. When Glenn did the intros Timmy got a HUGE, long, screaming, cheering, and shouting ovation. And when Tim got his turn to speak or perform it was the same thing. He was really in fine voice last night too and he looked really fantastic in this grey mandarin style shirt and black jeans. He had a ton of family in the crowd and I think half the people in the section next to me were related to him.

Don looked mighty fine too and had that fuzzy face thing going on that is very appealling to me (oh and the plaid shirt that is so "Don"). He seemed to be having a lot of fun last night which was nice to see (sometimes he seems so terribly serious). When his time to speak he said "its nice to be here in Sacramento on music business instead of political business. I haven't had much luck with politics here". Then he asked the crowd to shout back some song titles in order - How Long Busy Being Fabulous I Don't Want to Hear Any More Guilty of the Crime and said that "this goes out to the California Legislature".

Joe is the other one who got the most love from the crowd. Most of the people sitting around me were big Joe fans (probably something to do with the fact that we were pretty much in front of him). Unlike the reviewer, I like Joe's voice just the way it is and it sounded terrific to me - just like Joe's voice is supposed to sound. And no one could argue that his guitar playing was superb. He really ripped on everything he played. And this whole 'man in black" thing is really looking good on him as well as the longer hair.

As for Glenn, he looks almost as good in purple as he does in pink. He was having a great time up there - grinning and joking and dancing (I love it when he dances at the keyboard in ASWTDID). I was a little annoyed that he didn't seem to get as much appreciation from the crowd when he was intoduced but did but I did my best to cheer and shout for him. As I said I was very happy to see NMCD in the line up but the lessening of his lead vocals (and the reason behind it) is pretty obvious to me and made me a bit wistful.

After eight years it was so exciting to see them live and every once in a while I had to mentally pinch myself to be sure it was real. So worth the money and the trip!!

I only have a second before we have to check out of the motel, but I had to post in this thread. Cami - I am thrilled you had such a wonderful time (from such a great seat, too!) It sounds like the guys were in good spirits and I'm delighted to see the setlist.

As for the pictures... :thud: Oh my goodness. Don may have been wearing that same plaid shirt, but his hair looks so good. The picture of him holding off the applause is freaking adorable. I am seriously impressed with Glenn, too. That purple really suits him.

Aaaaaaaahhhhhh. The excitement has well and truly kicked in!

All these concert reviews & pics make me so excited for those who were or will be at concerts this season!!! Thank you for the reviews posted so far & I am eagerly awaiting the reviews of concerts to come! Have fun everyone who is going to a conert & to those who have already been, I hope the PEW does not set in for awhile & is not too severe.

I just have to add that I too think that Glenn looks HS&G in the purple shirt!

Following that was a trumpet solo with one beaming red light on him, and he had the crowd guessing what song was next.

Several people around me were asking each other about what song was next when the trumpet solo was playing and all I could thing was "You don't know? Seriously????"

Now this review more closely mirrors my own feelings about the concert. Glad to see something by a real Eagles fan!! Thanks Koala :D

First---his name is Schmit---S-C-H-M-I-T!!!!!

and Walsh was introduced as familiar to the law and hotel staff around the world.

This just cracked me up!!!

I thought it was funny when the reviewer talks about "keeping the audience guessing" with the trumpet intro to HC. Is there really people still going to these shows that doesn't know that's the beginning to HC now? I suppose there might be huh?

ETA-Wish those pictures were bigger! Love Timothy's!

Solid when singing lead, Frey also seemed to pull the whole thing together on stage, through his guitar work, harmonies and wit.

From one of the earlier reviews Koala posted, I had to think of FP when I read this. She often thinks Glenn doesn't get the respect he deserves in these reviews. This one is better.

And I loved this part from the most recent review Koala posted.

The Eagles are in a musical time capsule. They have great chemistry on stage as well as musical talent. The show was emotional for most, as they relived their youth with every song played. Henley reflected on their summer days, and Frey said, “We did everything fast...almost everything.”
After the show ended, I felt as if I’d relived their past with each song and album they played. I grew wiser and more appreciative of each album. Everyone should get a chance to see The Eagles perform live in concert, since they still rock.

First thing I noticed is they spelled Schmit wrong. Seriously people, get it right already.

As for HC, I don’t think the masses know about the trumpet solo. I think the diehards do, but not the casual fans. They know the old school version, which btw, I prefer. They really don’t play the “new” version on the radio, so unless people have been to previous show, or own some HFO, FW1 they wouldn’t know. Or, forgot.

Prettymaid

I agree LTL. We are so into them that we forget that most people who go to these shows do not own an Eagles concert DVD.

Now, I like the concert version intro to HC. I think it's neat when an obscure intro is created for a very popular song. When the audience finally recognizes the song, the vibe is so cool!
