I knew about Live in Dallas (which I have), but I just found out that Randy had another live CD that was recorded in 1981. I just ordered it from Amazon. I'm pretty excited because it's got Too Many Hands on it.

I like instant gratification, so I went to iTunes. That voice makes me melt...

I'm sure Meisner fans would like to listen to and/or download this concert recording that has just turned up on the marvelous Supermegs.org live archive. (http://tela.sugarmegs.org/)

Randy Meisner and the Silverados
February 28, 1981 (1981-02-28)
Rainbow Music Hall
Denver, Colorado
USA

I guess it's the same show as the Live in Denver CD but recorded from an FM Radio broadcast. Judging by the stage banter, this was a day two after Randy had been introduced as Rick Meisner before a live TV performance :-?

The 49:10 minute set list is;

01.[03:25] Bad Man
02.[04:25] Gotta Get Away
03.[06:30] Take It To The Limit
04.[04:50] Try And Love Again (not One More Song)
05.[03:57] Come On Back To Me
06.[05:58] Too Many Hands
07.[03:16] I Need You Bad
08.[04:13] Trouble Ahead
09.[03:35] Lonesome Cowgirl
10.[04:54] band intro > Hearts On Fire
11.[04:07] Deep Inside My Heart > FM outro

PS Supermegs also has both Fred Walecki Benefit gigs from 2000 which opened with Randy singing Take It Easy and Take It To The Limit and also had Henley performing The Boys Of Summer, My Thanksgiving and Desperado. Bernie Leadon was in the house band and Timothy B Schmit made a special guest appearance with Spinal Tap, as 4th bassist on Big Bottoms :-). Not to mention all the other LA superstars on the fabulous bill.

This was a special set of shows, called Gathering of the Clan. It was a benefit to aid Fred Walecki who ran the top music store in LA in the late 60s thru the 90s, until he came down with some sort of throat cancer. He was a mentor and friend to many of the main SoCal musicians, and this was their way of repaying him.

Omigosh, thanks Funk 50!! :yay: I will definitely look into this and the Walecki benefit concert too. I didn't know Timothy ever played with Spinal Tap on "Big Bottoms"; that is too funny.
