That review hit the Denver Post quickly considering the concert only ended about 2 1/2 hours ago... Really nice to see a positive one for a change. Thanks Koala :)

Nice find Koala

About halfway through the band's lengthy second set at the Pepsi Center on Thursday night, guitarist Glenn Frey wanted to acknowledge a special someone in the audience before laying into one of Frey's best-known songs.
"He's partially responsible for me being here tonight," Frey said. "My good friend, Richie Furay. Let's do this one for him."
Frey then led the band into the soft rock jam "Love Will Keep Us Alive," dedicating the song to the Colorado musician famous for his work in Buffalo Springfield and Poco.

I believe this reporter may be talking about the wrong member here.

Looking sharp and fit, the four main members — Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit — gave faithful takes on the their catalog's most celebrated works.

Yeah, I think he got that part wrong, but I loved this part!

So cynd - what about a fashion report - what were the guys wearing? Did you get pictures? Any new jokes from Glenn? Tell us what we really want to know!

Oh no you don't cynd! We are diehard Eagles fans who want to know exactly what they were wearing! (Let's have none of this vague "casual wear" stuff.) :hilarious: We expect a full report when you get off work!

OMG - I didn't mean to be rude and I apologize. I was just so caught up in trying to get details about the show that I forgot to comment.

Congratulations, cynd!

Cynd! Great review, although us inquiring minds do need to have some of these things spelled out for us here! You know, what color were their shirts, jeans-light or dark, hair, stubble, blown kisses, winks, etc! It's the details that we love! So, get back here asap and do your job girl!

And yes, did that mean engagement during LWKUA? Awwwwwww! Very romantic and  I think it's a Border First!

CONGRATS!

Don't get me wrong, seeing our guys is an exciting, thrilling experience and I loved every single moment...but how many times can we say the same things without sounding redundant? If you've had the opportunity to see them at the Hollywood Bowl or any of the shows since (and quite frankly, if you saw them during the first portions of the tour), then you already KNOW what to expect.

Well, I would agree that the guys are predictable for the most part, but it's not like every show is exactly the same. If that were the case, they could just tape the show, put out a DVD, and be done with it. Each show that I've ever been to has it's little nuances that make it special. That's why I continue to go to see them, and it's those little differences that I try to focus on. For me, that's the exciting part, but I understand that some may find the shows redundant.

When we saw Joe with "Stone Temple Pilot" at the Hard Rock a few years ago, he introduced "In The City" as being the song containing the highest vocal note he's ever written for him to sing himself.

Prettymaid

Mike, I was just going to say, I cringe for him every time he goes for those high notes but by golly, he hits them every time!

I also noticed he has a new joke before Life's Been Good. :partytime:

Yeah, I thought it was funny that Cynd didn't mention that since we always try to notify each other of those changes. Also--I'm with everyone else here---I need to know what they were wearing, not "casual mode". What they are wearing always seems to get plenty of talk here on the board.

I don't remember if you said you had replaced your camera or not. I'm with PM---wonder if you got pictures.

Thanks Koala for the reviews you found, the pictures and all those wonderful videos!! You are my hero girl!!!

ETA: Was just thinking also....I would think there would of been more to say about exactly how Timothy was doing during the concert since I'm sure everyone (at least me anyways) is curious on how he's doing after only taking a few days to recover from a hospital stay and surgery.

05-23-2010, 12:19 AM
Sorry cynd if some of these posts upset you. I think some of us hardcores were just anxious for details about the show. I guess not everyone pays as close attention to those things as some of us do. As I said, the different nuances are what I focus on when I go to shows, but that's just me.

05-23-2010, 12:35 AM
Well, of course, you haven't committed a cardinal Border sin (well - you almost did - now, I'm just joking, okay). It's just that since this is an Eagles board, it is natural for everyone to want details about a show when we know one of our members was there. I think this is just a case of everyone over-reacting, so it's probably best to just drop it and let's move on. You can PM me if you want to talk about this more.

I did a screen cap from the Funk 49 video of what looks, to me, like a tattoo on Joe's left arm. I'm not aware of Joe having any tats but it sure looks like one to me. What do y'all think?

OOOH, those Denver photos are amazing! I'll never get tired of seeing photos from the shows or hearing details about what went on.

I'm intrigued by this possible tattoo on Joe's arm. Getting one after all these years would certainly be surprising, but hey, you never know! If I were to take a guess, though, I'd say temporary body paint or something along those lines.

I remember reading somewhere a while back that Joe had a tattoo. I believe its a yin-yang symbol or something like that.

I was thinking it might be a reflection off of something, like some clear colored plastic or glass? Just a guess, but also keep in mind Joe rarely shows his fore arms (which is truly unfortunate *G*). If he's in short sleeves at the M&G I'll let ya'll know! *G*

A restraining order would limit how close our seats could be that night! Gotta think ahead!! And I certainly wouldn't want to be in jail or the security office during the show *G* but I'll do what I can *G*
