First, i'm working on the pics right now. There are TONS!!! I was actually quite shocked at the number of pics that we took.

Second, some of you know about the surprise I encountered when we first arrived in Wichita yesterday and I'm gonna get to that in my review but i'm still typing it up and trying to get the pics ready. For now here's a little taste...

Ok, i've only got the "before the concert" stuff typed up so i'll post that now. I'm almost done with the pics...my gosh i have nearly 300 :stunned:. I may have some videos too.

Before the concert

This was my first trip to Wichita and I really enjoyed it there. The Intrust Bank Arena is kinda small but it was a really nice place to see a concert. It was a very easy 3 hour drive. That was nothing compared to driving all the way to Cali a couple of months ago. We arrived in Wichita a little after one yesterday afternoon. Our hotel was only half a mile from the venue so we drove around it a couple of times. A gate was open so we were able to see all of the huge semi trucks and buses behind the arena and at that moment the excitement really started to kick in. It got even more exciting when we got to the hotel. As soon as we got out of the car we spotted two tour buses parked in front. I remember thinking to myself “No way are they staying here too!! But it could happen!! It already happened in San Jose, why not here too?” I was doing my best to remain calm. My friend Christi was already getting the scoop from valet and we weren’t even inside the hotel yet. Before we even stepped through the hotel doors she found out that the guys were staying there. This is when my freaking out began. We got checked in and as we were going up to the room, Christi was getting even more info from the bellhop lady. God bless that lady, she was so sweet and kind. She told us that the guys had arrived the day before and that they went out to Old Town later that evening. Then she said that the guys had already gone to the arena for sound check at around 10 am and came back to the hotel about noon. Christi was doing all the talking to this lady while I was just standing there stunned by all of this info we were getting. She then told us that if we want to try to see them to be down in the lobby by 2pm because they would be leaving for the arena sometime after that. She also said that they had a dinner to attend at the arena at 4. We got to our room and we had about 30 minutes to get back downstairs. My mind was racing in so many directions because I was so nervous and excited…more nervous, I think. We went back downstairs and at first our plan was to stand around outside. Christi’s hubby thought we were crazy to wait around for them and he decided to walk around by the river near the hotel. I felt completely weird just standing around outside in the heat and decided to have a cigarette. I was also thinking that it probably looked less conspicuous if I smoked instead of it looking weird with me and Christi just standing around outside the doors. We first saw Stuart walk out and go to one of the buses. I was shocked to actually be seeing him in person and didn’t say a word. I just watched him walk by. Too late, Christi asked me if he was anyone in the band. I told her who he was and she told me to tell her when someone Eagley goes by so she could say something to them. I’m way too shy for any of this kind of stuff and was trying to talk Christi out of saying anything to any of them unless it was Don, Glenn, Tim or Joe. I know I know, I was stupid about that but I get really nervous and shy in situations like this. A few minutes later we saw Al Garth then Christian Mostert come out and because I was so nervous I still didn’t tell Christi who they were until after they had walked by us. After about 25 minutes outside and 4 cigarettes later we decided to wait in the lobby because we were getting really hot and my lungs were starting to hurt because I don’t smoke much more than that in one day. We saw a few people coming and going with Eagles VIP and crew passes. We saw Will Hollis checking out and as he was walking toward the doors Christi asked to take a picture with him and he said sorry but he couldn’t because he had to get going. Boooo!!! A little bit later Christi overheard a man say that Joe would be coming down soon. My heart was already racing when she told me that but it started to pound a few minutes later when I saw Smokey coming our way. I whispered to Christi “It’s Smokey”. I don’t know why I whispering…nerves, I guess. “What?” she said. “That’s Smokey, he’s Joe’s bodyguard.” After he checked out Christi walked right over to him to say hi and began to tell him that we were big Eagles fans and was wondering if we could get a picture with Joe. He kindly said sorry and that we wouldn’t be able to. I was still standing back a little bit and Christi waved me over closer and at the same time asked him “Well, can we get a picture with you?” Smokey looked my way so I took a few steps closer, smiled and said “Hi Smokey”. That’s it, that’s all I was able to say. I don’t know if he didn’t hear me right or what but he said to me “You’re not Smokey, I’m Smokey. But we can take a picture, sure thing.” So I got a pic with him and then Christi and her hubby took one with him. Smokey was a really nice guy. That’s was pretty cool to get to meet him. We waited a little while longer then gave up when we didn’t see any more Eagley people around. We had to start getting ready to meet up with some friends of Christi’s that had front row seats on Tim’s side.

Loving the review so far and the pictures. You must have read my posts in another thread about not being able to tell which song is being played by looking at a picture. It's great to see a caption of exactly what part of the song they're doing! Can't wait for more!

I’m not going to go into this too much because it just makes me mad but we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and that nearly made us late to the concert. The service there was horrible. There were 7 of us at the table and only 4 of us got our food after 35 minutes of waiting. We complained and got the meal comped and was told that we could come back later after the concert or the next day and eat for free. They had 2 shuttle vans going back and forth from the venue so we piled into one and were dropped off right at the door. I knew that the guys wouldn’t start right on time and that we would have about an extra 10-15 minutes before they would be on stage. I was freaking out because we were running late and I DID NOT want to miss seeing 7BR. That is one of the highlights for me. Thankfully the line wasn’t too long and we got to our seats fairly quickly with about 5 minutes to spare before the lights went down. I would’ve loved to have been front row again but we can’t always get we want, you know. We were in the 6th row on Joe’s side right on the inside isle. It was a great view and I had plenty of room to do some dancing. I’d say that we were about 20 feet from the stage. I’ll give all the details that I can remember but I may skip a few songs if there wasn’t anything any different from what we’ve already heard/read from previous concerts.

Seven Bridges Road:
The lights went down and the crowd was going crazy. I love how I can still tell who is who when they’re walking through the dark. Even though it’s just a second long, It’s so intense how that first chord starts when it’s still dark and the guys start into the song. It’s simply breath taking to hear/see it performed live. Joe was doing cute little foot stomps along with the beat of the drum. We got the shorter version this time but it was still amazing to see it again. Perfectly done!!

How Long:
I love how they go right into this song after 7BR with barely a pause in between. I think it keeps the initial shock and awe going. I was a sad when they didn’t do Busy Being Fabulous next. Dang it!! I didn’t get to hear my favorite “Do do do doooo” part after Don sings “A little time in the country”. I love that song! They need to stop messing with my emotions because they put it in the set list then they take it out then they put it back on there then they take it out again. Ugh!! Come on guys!! Just leave it in the setlist…PLEASE!!

IDWTHA and GOC got some good applause but it didn’t seem like many people know the new songs so they didn’t get the proper applause that they deserved, imo. Hotel California finally got everybody on their feet and got a huge ovation afterward. Witchy Woman even got a response. I could hear a lot of people around me singing along.

Lyin Eyes:
I have such a huge appreciation/adoration for this song now after the San Jose concert. I completely got lost in this song. I swayed in my seat and blocked out everybody else like I was the only one there. It was beautifully done. I did notice that Glenn didn’t add the barely heard “much” part after he sings “A rich old man and she won’t have to worry”. I like that part and wish he would’ve left it in.

Boys of Summer was a great chance to see Don front and center. I’ve always liked this song but the more I see it live it moves further up on my favorites list. I got a few pics of Glenn and Stuart slowly squatting down and then back up.

In The City is sooooo much better live. It never used to be a favorite till I saw them live for the first time in Tulsa back in 2008. Now I look forward to them doing this song. Joe really cranks it up during the guitar solo. He’s so cool.

Don did his usual speech before The Long Run about how they are gonna take a break so that we (the audience) can rest. I like how that still gets a good laugh. Btw, Glenn’s jokes got some good laughs too. Everything was pretty much the same during this song. I always love when Don does his cute little shuffle as if he’s running when he sings “Just keep on running, baby. Just a little bit faster now.” *sigh*

The second set started out like normal but I was so incredibly happy that they did Best Of My Love. I never thought that I would hear that song live. It was beautiful. The crowd was into it too. Everybody was singing along. I gave this one a standing ovation. Next was Take It To The Limit. I thought back to what Soda wrote about it during the recent Survivor game and I could totally feel everything that she was describing about that song. I wanted to stand up but everyone around me was sitting so I just swayed to the music and sang my heart out along with the guys and everyone else in the arena. The way the lights turn on the audience when they sing the chorus makes the song so much more memorable because it really gets the audience to be apart of the song.

LROOE, what can I say that I haven’t already said about this song before. IT ROCKS LIVE!!! Don’s vocals are so good and Joe’s guitar work is superb on this song. I could listen to Joe’s guitar solo over and over. I love it! I still can’t believe that this song is 10 minutes long. There’s so much to get into and enjoy that it doesn’t even seem to last a few minutes.

Walk away came next and everybody was on their feet. Joe cranks up the energy and really gets the crowd and the rest of the guys going when this song starts. I think you all will understand what I mean here, I love every song that they do during the concerts and I get into and really appreciate hearing and seeing them performing live right in front of me but it seems like the guys don’t completely loosen up until the second half, specifically when Joe starts to get more amped up with his solo hits. The audience and the rest of the guys really seem to feed off of his energy. I’m not saying the guys didn’t seem to be having a good time until then but they just really get into it at this point. They really seem to be having a lot of fun.

One of These Nights was gorgeous and sexy as ever. I heard a lady behind me say “Wow!!! I can’t believe they can still hit the high notes!”

Glenn did the intros next. Tim got a good round of applause. Glenn did a cute little dance when Tim introduced him. I think I got a couple of pics of that too. Don got a good response from the crowd but his applause got a little drowned out (in the section I was in at least) by chants of people yelling “JOE JOE JOE!!” Glenn introduced Joe as being born in Wichita and crowd went crazy. He got the loudest applause I’ve ever heard. Joe was walking towards the mic to intro his next song but turned around and started pulling out tissues from a box of Kleenex. Yup! I got pics of that too. He had all of the guys on stage laughing. Man those tissues went all over the place. Joe did his little speech about Life’s Been Good and dedicated it to Wichita.

Dirty Laundry came next. I had the camera ready for when the guys line up but there was no jumping this time. Joe did a couple of little jumps but the rest of the guys didn’t follow his lead and join him. They still smiled and laughed during that part though.

Funk 49 started and I was really disappointed that Glenn and Joe didn’t do the guitar duel before the song started. I think it’s such a fun and comical thing for them to do and they left it out!! The song still rocked and everybody was still on their feet throughout this song.

I like the bluesy music they play before Heartache Tonight but everybody was starting to sit down and I leaned over to Christi and told her “You watch!! These people have no idea what’s coming next and they are all gonna jump to their feet once they hear what this next song is!” I was right. The song started and everybody jumped up and clapped along to the beat. I love this song!! I was really excited to be hearing it live again because I’ve had this song on repeat a lot over the past few weeks. I always get stuck on one or two Eagles songs for a week or two and this was the one I’ve been stuck on.

Love these pics and stories.... and I read that fine print and I sure hope to death your video turns out!!!

Finally done with the review...

Life In The Fast Lane is a great rocker and I think it’s a good song to end the set with before going into the encore. I like seeing Glenn and Tim do there little guitar lean move (whatever you call it) together during that one part of the song…does anybody understand what i’m referring to here? I just can’t think of any other way to describe it. Anyways, I like seeing those two do that. It’s cute. I always hope to hear Don say the “Are you with me so far?” part but he didn’t do it. I don’t think he’s said that at any of the concerts I’ve been to.

The encores!! Yup, that’s right. They did TWO encores this time. I hadn’t seen them do two encores since I saw them for the first time in Tulsa in 2008. I was so happy that they did it this time. Rocky Mountain Way is such a cool song. All of the guys were totally into it. I saw Glenn dancing a little bit and every time I looked at Don he was totally rocking to this song. He was really getting with it on those drums. I also noticed that when Joe was on the talk box Glenn seemed to really be into it. It was like he was in awe of Joe’s playing. I didn’t mind one bit but it seemed like Joe did this part a little bit longer than usual. Glenn even reached over to get a drink of water.

Take It Easy was next. This song totally brings me back to the road trip. You’d think that I would be tired of hearing it after we got stranded in Winslow on the road trip but I honestly love it even more now. I had a huge smile on my face when Glenn sang “Standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.” I let myself get completely wrapped up in the lyrics and groove of this song. I don’t think I was the only one either because everybody around me was on their feet and singing along. The guys got a huge round of applause at the end of this song and people were still clapping even after they left the stage. A few people started to leave but I knew that it wasn't over yet.

I was a little unsure if they were even going to do this next song but I knew they were once I saw Glenn walking to the right side of the stage to take his place at the piano. I know that some are upset about Don getting another song on the setlist but All She Wants To Do Is Dance really gets the crowd going. A lot of people were dancing in the isles, including myself. And it’s always wonderful to see Glenn dancing too. He’s such a cutie when he dances. I got a few pics of him dancing but he sure does move a lot so most of them came out blurry but there’s a couple of decent ones.

Desperado **SIGH** This is my all-time favorite Eagles song but it makes me sad when they start it because I know that the concert is coming to an end. Don was wonderful on this one. I didn’t hear any difference but I noticed him adjusting the pack thing on his side a few times (I’m not sure what that thing is actually called). I finally got a good pic of Don after he sings “You better let somebody love you” and then he points to the audience. I love that he let’s the audience sing that part.

I always love seeing them get together and bow at the end and I’ve tried to get a good pic of that at every concert I’ve been to. The good thing was that the way the seats were set up, the isles led straight to the stage and we were on the center isle in section F3 on Joe's side so once the lights went down after Desperado I hurried to the stage to get closer to the guys. A lot of people had the same idea but there was only one person in front of me and the stage so I had a pretty good view. They came to our side first and they all seemed very appreciative of the responses they got from the Wichita crowd. I blew kisses to all of the guys but sadly none were returned. Christi was standing right behind me and she swears that Don smiled and waved at me but I don’t think that was for me. It was kinda hard to tell but I think he did that to someone next to me or the person standing in front of me. Who knows? It was still cute of him to do that. Joe tossed a pic to someone standing a few people over to the right of me and someone else try to snag it from him and a security guard had to stop the guy trying take it from Joe’s intended receiver. Glenn had a guitar pic too but I didn’t see him give it to anyone. There was a little boy in the front row pretty close to center stage that I noticed got a lot of attention from the guys. I saw Tim give him a guitar pic just before leaving for intermission. He literally stepped off the stage onto the steps that the stage crew uses to give the pic to the little boy. The boy looked to be about 5 or 6 years old. At the end of the concert Joe gave him a pic too and Don gave him some drumsticks. Don was walking away and then turned back. He was walking back towards the boy and next thing I see is Don sitting down at the edge of the stage and a man, who i'm assuming is the boys father, picked him up and handed him to Don. Don had the boy sitting on his knee as he posed for a few pics with him. It was such a wonderful and cute moment. Afterwards, everybody gave Don a big round of applause for doing that. That boy was incredibly lucky that night. Wow!! He’ll be able to tell that story for years to come.

I went into this concert knowing that it probably wouldn’t be able to top me and Lou’s front row experience in San Jose but I still knew that I would have a great time and the guys would put on a great show. I did have a great time and the guys were amazing like always!! I gotta say though, like Brooke said about the concert in St. Louis, I have a feeling that this was my last Eagles concert. With no other tour dates nearby, I just don’t see it happening again. With that feeling in mind, I took in every single song played and every single moment that happened during this concert. I wanted to make every moment last in my mind for as long could. I will definitely try to go if they come around my area again but I just have a feeling that it won’t happen. But you never know….It could happen again!!!

Thanks everybody!! I gotta say a big "Thank You" to my cousin Francene for letting me borrow her camera. Mine got broken a few weeks ago and Francene was kind enough to lend me hers for this concert.

I'm still surprised about how many pics we took. Christi and I took turns taking pictures. There were moments that I knew I wanted to capture and so I would get the camera from Christi and there were times that I was totally into a song that I didn't even realize that she had taken the camera from me so she could take some pics. We got a lot of pics of Joe. He was pretty much right in front of us so a lot of the pics we took of him turned out pretty good. Most of the pics of the other guys were a little blurry but still good. I tried to get some good pics of Tim but (like in San Jose) he moved every time I tried to focus the camera on him and the pic would turn out too blurry. But there were some decent ones of him. I'm glad that I got some of Don on the drums. At past concerts, I couldn't ever get any good ones of him on the drums or when he was on the percussion.

So Jess, was the new arena a good venue? I've never been there. Wondered about the acoustics and seating.

It's a great venue, Mike. We really liked it. Me and Christi have already said that if another concert comes through that arena would go back. It's kinda small for an arena but it's really nice. It's easy to find. I don't know how the parking was because we used the shuttle from the hotel. The seating was good too. As far as the acoustics go, I could hear everything just right. I didn't notice any bad echo or anything like that. Everything seemed to be spot on.

You must have read my posts in another thread about not being able to tell which song is being played by looking at a picture. It's great to see a caption of exactly what part of the song they're doing!

Well, with the pics from this concert I can tell the difference because either Christi or I took pics during almost every song so that made it a little easier to tell which song the pics came from. I don't know which song every pic came from but I can kinda narrow it down.

There's so many pics that I'm just gonna post the link to the pics on my photobucket page.

I didn't realize that Christi had done a video recording until we got back to the hotel and I was browsing through the pics. They aren't the full songs but she got the last minute of Hotel California, about 2 minutes of Best Of My Love, and about a minute of Take It To The Limit. I hope the link for these videos work. Let me know if they don't.

OMG!!!!! Thank you a million times for the incredible reviews and pictures, Jess. I wanted to quote so many of the Don pics but I just don't have time right now. Sigh. They are BEAUTIFUL. How cute is that about Don taking the little boy onto his lap?

I'm thrilled you had an awesome time. Keep reliving those memories for as long as possible!

Peek, I finally had a chance to read through!:applause: You wrote a Sodatype review. That's awesome! I can never remember all those little details.

The pics you posted are great. Haven't had a chance to go to PB yet. I recall the last time I saw the guys smiling so much. I mean, pic after pic of real smiling, even TBS! You can just tell the guys were spot on.

Thanks so much for sharing your expierence. Made me feel as if I were there. I'm happy you had such a great time!

WOW, Jess! What an awesome review, photos, and videos. Very cool, that you got your picture with Smokey, but, too bad, you didn't hook up with the band. But, PLEASE - this is surely not your last Eagles' concert - there will be others!!!

Here's some pics of the moments that I mentioned in the review...

Glenn and Stuart during Boys Of Summer when they both squat down at the same time.

I didn't mention this part in the thread but I was able to get a pic of when Joe sings "They write me emails and tell me Glenn's great" during Life's Been Good. I've always wanted to capture that cute moment when Joe sings that and everybody looks to Glenn and he gives an adorable smile to the audience.

Jess - I forgot to mention this earlier, but I noticed in the set list that you posted a couple of pages back that "I Can't Tell You Why" is missing. Please tell me it was an oversight sight on your part, and that they have not dropped this song.

And I had to comment on these. That one of Glenn is adorable and the one of Don made me literally chuckle out loud when I saw it - too cute!!!

WOW!! Jess, sounds like you had a wonderful evening. Thats a brilliant review. How much better are the reviews the Borderers write compared to the so called 'pros'? I felt like I was there beside you. Helped of course by your wonderful pictures.

I really hope it won't be your last Eagles gig. We all say it when dates arent announced, but they always come back! I'm sure you'll see them again.

You know, I'm not sure I can! Lol! Joe did it at the show I went to in 2010 also. After he was introduced by Glenn, he just went to the box of Kleenex and quickly tore them out one by one. I don't know whether he was trying to say he was choked up by the applause he was getting, or what, but it was pretty nonsensical!

There are a couple I am thinking of that are really close to the arena

That is what I figured, it is probably the nicest hotel closest to the Arena. Hum, there is a pretty good dining area, maybe we will have to dine there before the concert in October
