That will be their first ever visit to Taiwan. Does this mean they will also go to China?

Perhaps - if there's money to be made there!

The last time they were over there they also played Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand. Maybe they will hit those again, too.

I hope they hit Hong Kong again. I have a friend there who loves the guys, and has never seen them in concert. She would be in heaven if she found out they are playing there!:)

OK, the Rolling Stones went to China first, but this is big. It had to happen some day. It makes you wonder when they will do South America.

Although Joe mentioned Korea in the Undercover interview there are no Korean dates on his site as yet (or at the Eagles site).

Lot of unrest over there with North Korea threatening all kinds of war and violence. Hope it calms down by the time they go.

These guys have good sense. I'm sure they will only go if they feel it's safe.

As an English tutor at Purdue, most of my clientele consisted of South Koreans. Each of my clients was hard-working, kind and generous, often giving me "thank you" gifts in addition to my pay. Part of my tutoring sessions involved "conversational tutoring" where they would practice English conversation skills by question-and-answer sessions. Often we talked about what was happening in their part of the world. They are deeply saddened by the situation, and frustrated by how much North Korean policies affect quality of life in South Korea, damaging its economy as well as threatening its safety.

I am glad the Eagles are going over there and giving South Korean fans some joy in such troubled times.

Well one thing about Irving is that he is usually a pretty astute business manager. I would bet he's done his homework and can't imagine him signing the guys up to play anywhere at any price that would not be safe and profitable.

Your right Dreamer. He would want to keep them save because he wouldn't want anything to happen to his "golden geese or cash cows". I know that is kind of mean and from what I read in the new Eagles book, he has been a personal friend with members of the Eagles for years. In an interview Joe told about him and Irving living in a car together once, so they go way back.

Music fans face hard choices as legends land in Seoul

First paragraph---"Music lovers in Korea will find it hard to resist the temptation to devote an entire paycheck to more than a dozen upcoming concerts by world-class musicians scheduled through March. The lineup ranges from superstars such as Eric Clapton, Santana and the Eagles, to contemporary pop musicians including Far East Movement, Kesha and Ne-Yo."

Thanks Koala--that's really cool!

Based on the current rate of exchange, the price for tickets (99000-330000 WON) translates to an approximate range of 88-295 US$ or 65-216 Euros. The beginning of the article would have us believe that the prices are pretty astronomical - and I suppose for the economy over there it may be for some. But those prices translate to the same range as tickets were for the US tours, and in some cases actually LESS than we paid for a few shows.

Well - it's gettin' close to show time again, so, hopefully, that means some new reviews and YouTube videos to salivate over. Thanks for posting that ad, Koala. I think it's funny that several of the songs in the ad aren't even in their current setlist - most notably Already Gone. Of course, there is a possibility that they will change up the setlist a bit, but if they actually were to bring back AG, I'd be  !!!

Hey, they brought back SBR and BOML, didn't they? You never know. I think on our board at least, Already Gone is now the most requested "reinstatement."

As I sit writing this, it is nearly 11:30 p.m. Sunday night in Bangkok. Show was scheduled to start at 8 p.m. local time which means if they haven't already sung Desperado, they're darned close! I'm going to monitor the Bangkok papers and news sites for the next several hours --- am anxious to see the reviews and get the scoop!!!

I've been all over the internet today and can't find anything other than the advance ticket info for lastnight...not one mention of the show and not one photo. It is 8 a.m. Monday morning in Bangkok -- apparently they don't have a clue we're all sitting on the edge of our collective seats in anticipation of the reviews!!!!! I'll keep on tryin' and hope others are busy searching as well. Maybe someone closer to that time zone will pull something up soon!

Unfortunately Singapore doesn't have many newspapers online that are translated to English so I haven't been able to find anything on my usual newspaper websites...but I'm continuing to montior. It's now very late Thursday night over there and I'm surprised there isn't anything out there yet.

Yeah - it is getting a bit confusing. But everyone please keep on posting anyway until we get a chance to reorganize the threads. Hopefully, we can get it sorted out this weekend. It's a good problem to have - that's for sure. Love all the positive feedback we're getting on the Asian shows so far. :partytime:

Nice piece...and so good to see them meeting with the press in advance. It's now the early morning hours on Saturday in Taipei. Having been to several Eagles shows myself, I can easily sense the excitement and anticipation that the fans in Taiwan are experiencing as showtime draws nearer. How I envy them!!
