This is just so sad. First Holy Communion is probably the biggest event in the young life of a child over here. Its a family celebration thats bigger than Christmas or a Birthday in most families. Yesterday a little 8 year old girl celebrated her First Holy Communion with her classmates in Co Waterford. Later in the evening, a gust of wind shook the bouncy castle her parents had organised in the back garden and knocked her out of it. She suffered severe head injuries and never recovered. She died later that evening.

I echo what everyone else has said - how terribly sad. My heart goes out to her family.

GA, until you posted this I did not realize how unsafe those bouncy castles were.
Tonight on the news they were showing 2 seperate cases where those things were picked up by the wind and children were injured. There were 6 kids in one of them but the parents managed to get all of them out before it went airborne. In the second case, two little girls were in it. One of them was thrown out of it into a yard that had grass so she wasn't hurt to bad. The second little girl was carried onto a roof.
These things need to be tied down somehow to keep this from happening.
