I'm making a Playlist for America's Independence Day and I'd like some suggestions on what you think would be the best ones.

Here's what I have already:

Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA"

Ray Charles' "America the Beautiful"

James Brown's "Living in America"

Bruce Springsteen's "This Land Is Your Land"

Whitney Houston's "Star-Spangled Banner"

Glenn Frey's "It's Better in the USA" (http://www.glennfreyonline.com/multimedia/MP3/BetterintheUSADelMar85.mp3)

Any suggestions?

And as much as I dislike Bruce Springsteen, this one is pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em comin'! Personally, I'm looking for songs that make you feel good about America / being an American.

A Month Of Sundays!

There's Saturday In The Park by Chicago, which says 'think it was the Fourth of July'. I am not a fan but it works in this instance.

American Tune - Paul Simon
America - Simon & Garfunkel

Bear with me, Soda, but Knopfler's Sailing To Philadelphia is an inspirational song about how Mason & Dixon drew their notorious line and dreamed of American liberty.

Nancy, there might be something on this album that will help you. There are 3 discs so .... maybe

Hope all my American friends on The Border have a great 4th of July. I'm off to a concert in London with DD1 today so won't be here to chat. Normal service will resume tomorrow.
