....probably for the 'slightly older members'

For the last few days i've noticed that my left arm (inside elbow area) has been twitching.....really - you can actually see it pulsate, like there's a little alien in there trying to break out whilst sending morse code! :fear:

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Well, tg - I think I qualify as a 'slightly older member', but I've never experienced anything like that. If it keeps up, you need to get yourself to a doctor though and get it checked out. Have you tried to research it on the internet to see if can get any info?

Yeah, it's best to get it checked out if it continues, for your own peace of mind. It's probably that it's just a muscle spasm though. I've had them occasionally in several different places and usually they bug me for a few days, and then disappear. I remember in the week before I left for the States, my eyelid was twitching like hell - you could see it moving and it drove me insane. Stress and tiredness can affect twitches, along with too much caffeine. I hope it eases up for you - keep us updated, Carole!

Can you feel it or just see it? Is it a muscle or a vein?

Regardless, I'd have it checked out!

Nancy, I can feel it and see it - it seems to be a vein, but has become less of a regular occurance over the last day, so I think i'll give it a couple more days and see how it goes - thanks for the input guys! :)

I would also think it's just a minor spasm. I've had things like that and they eventually go away. I'm also not one to go to the doctor unless I'm on death's bed! I figure if it doesn't hurt it can't be too serious. But that's just me!

That's exactly how I am Brooke.....I haven't seen a Doctor in over 10 years :)

A fortnight ago when my brother & sil were here we all managed to pick up a chest infection from somewhere, Shirley had to go immediately to hospital as she suffers with a lung problem she was straight away put on anti biotics and steroids (if these things are given the chance to get a hold on her it means weeks in hosptal :-() Colin & I did nothing about it for a week after which time Colin gave in and went to the Doc & got anti biotics - I stuggled along - it will be 2 weeks tomorrow since we contracted this and mine has all but cleared up (I had my first proper nights sleep last night) Colin has just about got rid of his too! ........So exactly the same time scale with & without anti biotics

and as for the pulsating vein thing......it's stopped!

sorry for the long-winded post

...okay so another totally random question..........

DO any of you suffer, or know anyone who suffers from "restless leg syndrome"....I was still up at 4am this morning, scrapbooking, because I could not keep my legs still...it has been EXTREMELY awful lately...don't know what to do about it anymore?

I sort of do - my legs always wanna move. I've been very restless and having a hard time sleeping as well (here I am, up at 2:30 am). My father suggested I try over-the-counter sedatives like Benadryl but I'm not comfortable with that. I don't know what to do. Anyone else have any suggestions for us?

PS I modified the title of this thread to make it a bit more specific for folks who might also have totally random health questions.

I've been having trouble sleeping too... I guess there's just a lot on my mind. Some nights I'm even up till 6:00am, and it's driving me insane! I'm like you Nancy... I don't like to take Benadryl very often, but I'll tell you, it sure does help!

EF, you could try Rescue Remedy Sleep - it's very helpful for "mind chatter" which I get often. I've found it very helpful, and it doesn't cause that almost-hungover feeling that sleeping tablets give me.

Glennhoney - Retless Leg Syndrome is one to check with your doctor if its ongoing. If you know you have low iron levels you could try a supplement to see if that helps, but if you've had it for a while, it's getting worse and it's preventing you from sleeping - get it checked out.

I have the same problem. I'm usually still up at 3 or 4 in the morning. I've taken Benadryl several times and while it works I hate the way it makes me feel in the morning.
