Wow! What a night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIG NEWS: GLENN IS PLANNING ON RELEASING A SOLO ALBUM OF COVERS CALLED AFTER HOURS!!!

More details when we get to it...

Overall, what an amazing time we had! We are all just thrilled and I really feel this review won't do much justice to the experience... but we'll do the best we can!

The show was quite different from what we expected! We'll give you the set list rundown with little bits as we remember them.

Glenn came out in a suit. He looked handsome as always. He started off by saying that he was concerned about his jokes because he didn't want to repeat any from the last time he was at Fallsview "a couple years ago" (actually four)! He went from that into the "Dammital" joke - something along the lines of "I'm feeling real good tonight - I took this new drug called Dammital. I have teenagers." lol

The first song he played was Peaceful Easy Feeling. His voice sounded beautiful and I loved how he hummed at the end. He also said during the bridge, "Genuine California Country Rock!"

The next song he did is my favorite song, Take It to the Limit, and PLS, Dreamer, and I got a special treat then! He looked over at us and mouthed "I knew you'd be here!" That made us feel warm all over. ;) It was a terrific rendition of the song.

He moved over to the piano for The One You Love. He made a self-deprecating joke saying that the song was from his "failed solo career" and his first album Prelude to Obscurity. Again, his voice was very strong on this. I melted!

The next thing we heard was the strains of Silent Spring, and we knew Tequila Sunrise was next! It was so nice to hear it again. His voice sounded very rich on this. Loved it!

When he began his introduction to the next song, he talked about his daughter Taylor having a hard time, and how he thought of her when he wrote the song. Of course, you've probably guessed by now that the song was You Are Not Alone! It was so moving it brought PLS to tears. Magnificent.

Then he really started pulling out the surprises! He talked about how the Eagles really admired certain artists, including Buffalo Springfield (he also listed Neil Young, The Byrds, The Beach Boys, and "some other more obscure artists.") This transitioned into his performance of the Buffalo Springfield song On the Way Home. I'd never heard it before, but I definitely liked it!

Now here is where we get to the big news. Glenn took off his guitar and made an announcement! He said that he had been working on an album for the past couple of years and that is was pretty much done. He said that he had been working on it with his two keyboard players. Turns out it was the covers album he'd mentioned several years ago! He's been working on it all this time and we never knew! Even more exciting to me was the fact that he said the album would be called After Hours - I have always wanted him to record that song and, considering it's going to be the name of the album, I think chances are good that my wish will come true! The next four songs he performed were all tracks from that album, which he said he hoped would be out around Valentine's Day. (One of the songs he said he decided to do after seeing it on YouTube, but we forget which one.)

The first was Route 66. Glenn even danced to this one! He was adorable and so "into" it. He cried out "Everybody do the jitterburg!" lol!

The next one was Shadow of Your Smile, originally by the Sandpipers. I had never heard this song before either, and WOW, he was AMAZING on this song. He was so passionate as he sang it and his voice really nailed it. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!

Now, Tim fans, you're going to be surprised by his next choice... he said he was going to do a song that was a little newer... something he'd always wanted to record... it was Caroline No! It's a beautiful song and I'd heard it before thanks to Timothy covering it, so I was able to sing along. Glenn's old Beach Boys love is coming to the fore here!

The next song he pulled out was by Burt Bacharach - Glenn commented that Bacharach had a deep catalog to choose from and complimented him. He commented that Dusty Springfield was the first person to record the song. The song was called The Look of Love. This one definitely got a good crowd response, I thought.

After this, he said that it was time for a "mood change" - he joked that he called the band the "bipolar bears" because they were playing "mood swing music." The mood change took us to Smuggler's Blues... and yes, it was the slower version. Oh well, one can't have everything one wants all the time! It was still enjoyable.

The next song also brought with it a treat... as he was introducing I'll Come Runnin' Back to You, he first turned towards where PLS, Dreamer, and I were sitting and said "This one is for my girlfriends over there..." gesturing towards us, and then he turned to face out and added "who have come from all over the world!" Of course, as we know, that's indeed very true and it made me wonder if he knew somehow about FP and GA! Of course we were so freaking excited we were dying! He added, "They love this one!" (I assume he was referring to when I asked him if he would record it at Pebble Beach, and I said that I liked it). What a memory he has! We were so thrilled!

Next was a smokin' version of Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed. He introduced it by commenting that it was written by Jack Tempchin and someone from Louisiana. It was terrific!

Then it was time for his biggest hit, You Belong to the City. He sat at the piano for this one as well and, to my delight, he did NOT do the falsetto. He sang it straight up. Everyone was getting into this song. It still hits the spot today!

After this, he walked off as if it were the end, but we knew more was coming!

When he came back out for his encore, he started off with The Heat Is On. Of course, this his most well-known song as folks were dancing in their seats and really enjoying it. I think this is the first time this song has appeared as an encore. Cool!

He moved from that into Heartache Tonight, which brought the house down! He rocked it and got a standing ovation after it.

The next song: I Hear You Knockin'. This one always goes over very well live. People love it. It was great! Funny moment: before this, he looked at his fret and it was apparently incorrect. He said, "I'm glad I checked that fret because it needs to be turned up!"

He went offstage again and I wasn't sure if he would come back, but I thought surely he would to play Take It Easy... well, I was wrong. He didn't come back to play that... but he did come back. The second encore song was Lyin' Eyes! He encouraged us all to sing along and people were eating it up. Great version. To our surprise, he ended with that. Another funny guitar moment: apparently he had been handed the wrong guitar. He said "Why did you give me a 12 string? It's hard enough to play a 6 string!" lol

So many people hoped that he would come out to do another encore that when the lights came up, there was a collective "awwww." The Fallsview crowd couldn't get enough of Glenn!

As far as band members go, he had a new bass player named Wade but I didn't catch his last name. I'll listen more carefully tomorrow! Steph - your Will was there! Also, Michael Thompson, Rich Mangicaro, Scott Crago, Richard Davis, and Danny Grenier were all there.

Well, I'll end there and let the others talk about their special moments... GA especially has something to say! ;)

You got me all excited when you started...."Now, Tim fans, you're going to be surprised"... I was thinking OMG---Timothy was there! :hilarious: Still cool that he did Caroline No.

Can't wait to hear everyone else's reviews and take on the night. And more yet tonight!!! I'll be on here several times today checking for the updates. Have a great day of sightseeing and have fun tonight!!!!

I would have been in heaven listening to The One You Love live. That song has been on my top 10 favorite songs list for as long as I can remember. Way before I even knew who Glenn Frey was!

I LOVE that Glenn acknowledged you ladies! That is so awesome! He's a pretty cool guy. I hope you have some pics to share. Can't wait to hear some other little details.

OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!!!

This was definitely the BEST concert I have ever been at and I was so thrilled to have had the privilege of hearing Glenn:heart:'s
announcement of the new album! He looked wonderful, sang brilliant, and was altogether Some kinda wonderful guy.

Now, before I left Dublin I had made a A2 size banner with the words

I've come from Ireland to see you :heart:GLENN:heart: (pic to follow when I get home) My plan was to raise it at some appropriate moment, just to let him know that I had made the journey to see him. If I got a nod, a wink, a smile or a  I've been over the moon.

Even where I was sitting I needed to gauge when would be best to put it up. I didn't want to look like I was stealing his thunder, or trying to distract him from all the news he was giving about the new album, nor did I want to annoy other spectators or draw the evil eye of the security staff.

Anyway I decided the best time was just before he came out to do the first
encore. Several songs earlier he had made the comment about people coming from across the world, so I judged it to be the best time. A few other audience
members really encouraged me, including Kath. so, out he came, up went the
banner and..........

Glenn  started to introduce the next part of the show. Then he STOPPED, TURNED, LOOKED at the banner and said......

'I see a sign but I can't read it, the lights are blinding me. I see it says 'GLENN'' Then he paused, kinda squinted at it, and said 'Iceland...... You're from Iceland??'. Then a number of people called out 'IRELAND' I called out 'Ireland' then, and he smiled and said 'IRELAND?... Lord have mercy on us' But he was grinning and we think it was a real WOW moment for him. He seemed really flattered. As for me, I collapsed into my seat and got a hug from my neighbour who I didn't even know. I looked at her and said 'did he just speak to me?' She said 'he sure did'.

WOW! What A GUY!
I think that's pretty much how it went. Obviously I've been riding the clouds ever since! I don't normally behave as a show stopper! Lol.

Ive a lot more to say but I'll post it later. Needless to say this whole incident took my breath away.

Oh and later after the show, a few of us were hanging around the stage, Victor the guitar yellow was giving out pics. He handed me one and said 'you a have to get one.......'

WHAT a NIGHT

GLENN FREY I LOVE YOU :iloveyou: :iloveyou: :iloveyou:

First of all, New album! Wonderful! I can't wait!

And girlfriends! What a sweetheart he is!

Sounds like you all had a great time last night - and another one to look forward to tonight. Wow!!:yay::yay::yay:

Lisa, you must be on cloud 9....getting personal attention from Glenn.

Hope you're doing some sight-seeing today, not spending all your money in the casino.:D

If someone with a camera can bear to take their eyes off of Glenn for a few seconds(I know it's a lot to ask!), a photo of Will would be VERY much appreciated. Is Will looking well?

Enjoy tonights show.

Will is looking very well indeed, Steph! I was in the third row right (3 seats down from Lisa) so he was directly in front of me. Sorry to tell you that they dont allow cameras in the theatre, so there wont be many pics. :-( Probably just a few that were snapped quickly when security wasnt looking. Hopefully there will be more chances for us to take more tonight! :shh:

I just want to add that the audience loved Glenn! As the concert progressed they, or should I say we, became more & more enthusiastic! They (we) seemed very impressed by his performances of the new (old standard) songs that he sang. Those really highlighted his ability to perform in yet another genre. He received several standing ovations during the show! The audience didnt want to let him go. Glenn appeared to be very appreciative of & humbled by the reaction of the audience. We clapped & clapped & cheered when he said goodbye the first time & after both encores! Everyone kept enthusiastically clapping after the last encore until finally the house lights came up & we realized that, as much as we wanted him to, he wasnt coming back to do another one. I still cant believe that I was actually there & so close to him! The setlist was such a wonderful surprise, so many of my favorites & so many new songs!!! I too love The One You Love & had prayed that he would play it, but I really never thought that he would!

I was overjoyed when Glenn acknowledged Kay, Lissa & Nancy & when he read Lisa s sign!

I am still on cloud nine & I get to see it again tonight!!! :partytime:

What a fantastic experience you guys had! And you get to do it again tonight!! I am really happy for all of you that you got that recognition. Can't wait to hear about what happens at this evening's show.

And I am super excited about Glenn releasing a solo album... maybe that means he will do some touring to promote it and we may get a chance to see him again :yay: Its ironic that he calls it a "failed" solo career...I consider it just the opposite because it was during that time that I discovered him and his music (that voice, that face, that hair....). I was a true blue Glenn fanatic long before I became an Eagles fan. So as far as I am concerned he was very successful in his solo efforts!

The show last night was FANTASTIC. I was 3rd row almost centre (slightly to the right of Glenn in front of the Bass player) I had an AMAZING view of Glenn for the whole evening. Watching him singing, dancing and genuinely seem to have fun was truly a pleasure. The moments that stand out for me (other than the obvious of new material from Glenn) are:

-Glenn singing You Are Not Alone. This has always been my favourite song from LROOE but this version was especially poignant as I remembered Glenn and I discussing how this song had helped ME.

-Glenn really encouraged the audience to sing with him on Lyin' Eyes... saying something along the lines of "you're gonns help me out right?" OF course the audience did!

-Victor Glenn's trusty tech was very sweet to me and gave me a glenn guitar pick as well. I went up to him after many others had and he told me he was sorry he had just given the last pick away.. . I replied "aww thats ok" However upon glancing arounfd the stage he told me to hold on that he had found one! He gave me the pic Glenn used right before he played the keyboard! (It was sitting on the edge of the keyboard lol)

-Glenn was not overly chatty, did not tell the plaintiff joke or the credit card joke! But he seemed to be in a good mood. It was a very unique show from Glenn, unlike any I've seen before. I was pleased to see him trying new things and seeming to enjoy it! :)

I will leave the main review to Soda and the others, but I just wanted to let you know that the show tonight was even better than last night, if you can believe it!!! Glenn was in a livelier mood & this crowd was even more into him than the audience last night! There were a number of changes. He changed up the set list a bit & he changed his outfit to jeans & a sport jacket. He looked much more relaxed. (although he looked some sexy in that suit while singing the (new) standards! He chatted more & we thought that he sang the new songs with much more confidence. The audience ate them up! :partytime: You could tell that he was pleased with the audiences reaction.

GA, FP, Dreamer, Soda, PLS & HH were all sitting at the front. I will let them tell you, but I will just say that Glenn gave them more recognition tonight! Even more than last night! I was thrilled for them!

Glenn was so gracious, thanking the audience genuinely after every song!

Anyway, those were just a few tidbits to tide you over until the others post the details.

Glenn :iloveyou:!!!!

YOU BET! This has been the best week I have had in a long long time possibly ever!

Thanks for the good wishes for home everybody. Most of us are (sad) in transit. Nancy, Kay and Lissa headed off this morning to Buffalo about 9 am. They DID offer to drive Ann, Harold, Julie and myself to Toronto, but it would have meant a 5am start to get them back for their flights. Considering we left the Casino at 2:30am.............. (just can't get enough of those screwdrivers)

So Harold investigated the idea of getting a cab later in the morning to Toronto, and it was quite reasonable so we left at about 11am. I've checked in
and should board in about 2 hours. I think like last Tuesday night Nancy and co will put up a new review. Then we'll add our own little special moments! That's why it's a bit scarce for now.

Oh, and the cell phone I lost? It was in my car. It must've fallen out of my purse when I grabbed it to rush to the terminal (I was running late as usual). Since it was 4:30 in the morning at the time, I didn't see it fall in the dark. I'm just glad it didn't fall into the parking lot!

Nancy, glad to hear that you're home safe & sound & you found your phone!!!!! :yay:

I got home about an hour ago. Had a short delay, about 3/4 hour, but smooth sailing besides that. I'm still flying high! My sister picked us up at the airport & I got even more worked up telling her about it! Still can't believe what a fantastic time we had! Harold's already planning for the next Border party! We've got him hooked!

I'm like an addict now (not that I wasn't before), LOL. I need more Glenn!!! I am anxiously waiting Nancy's review too, even though I was there! Guess I just want to relive the thrill!

When he began his introduction to the next song, he talked about his daughter Taylor having a hard time, and how he thought of her when he wrote the song. Of course, you've probably guessed by now that the song was You Are Not Alone! It was so moving it brought PLS to tears. Magnificent.

The first time I heard this song in '07 was just 2 months after my grandfather passed away. I had just started to come out of the fog of the first part of the grieving process when I found I was able to go to Canada. As I sat there listening to the words of the song tears were raining down my face. The song was like a warm hug. It was so comforting at such a painful time in my life. I can listen to it now without crying (usually) but hearing it live had me in tears once again. But in a good way. lol

Awwwww Lissa what a touching comment. I'm sure Glenn  would be so touched to hear how his music has the power to comfort you and so many others. He really is a man in a million.

I really feel too that I should post a BIG
THANK YOU

To Nancy and Kay particularly for organising everything in such a smooth and efficient manner. They organised hotel rooms and transport and entertainment, and their attitude was 'get to your airport and we'll do the rest' and they did. Nothing was too much trouble for them and it was sooo reassuring to have someone on the 'other side' to do this. It wasnt just me that they did it for, they were available for all of us. And they are busy people too.

While obviously, the main reason I went was for the gigs it was SOOOOOO wonderful to be able to spend time with what I would now consider to be the best bunch of friends I have ever had. Cyber friendship is great, but it's
wonderful to meet up and with such a fantastic group of people.

I really hope we get the chance to do this all over again.

Long live the Border

I will have to divide both this & the next review into two parts. Now I need to explain something here. These reviews are about Glenn. He is the focus of them. However, a lot of it will be about me & my reactions. I 'ask for your indulgence' & I will try not to let it overshadow the reviews; but it's important that you understand how incredibly significant I felt these nights were as a fan of Glenn. What I will be writing will also no longer have the spontaneity that the others were able to give you; as you know I had to wait until I came home. Anyway let's go.

First, though I was deeply excited & privileged to be there, my expectations were just for a delirious 90 minutes of all Glenn. I thought the most I could hope for was I'll Come Running Back To You, which I hadn't heard him sing at all. I had been more preoccupied with being in Canada & meeting my fellow Borderers (I will write about that in the What's Happening In Your Life thread).

After the band took the stage came the tantalising moment while he was introduced. As soon as he appeared I could see he was wearing a suit. This is the first of a series of apparently endless hopes of mine that he fulfilled. I can't say enough about how delighted I was; but I was also in a daze of gratitude so I didn't absorb much of the first two songs. I also had a very strong sense that these shows were to be 'special'.

I saw him look over to Soda, PLS & Dreamer on the left (I was in the centre). But when he acknowledged them he said something else. He talked about people who had come 'from all over the world'. I therefore felt that somehow, he knew about GA & myself, and that made me happy, but I wasn't really expecting any recognition from him (and I didn't really get it; if I did, I barely noticed).

So at last I heard The One You Love & the 'failed solo career' gag. I thought 'I hope that isn't the theme of the evening' but his face was very close to where I was & I watched him during the entire song. And then of course it was great to hear Silent Spring/Tequila Sunrise again.

Then he started talking about the plans for the Eagles' 40th anniversary and I started to think that perhaps I was going to hear him sing something I had never heard. I wanted that so desperately but didn't dare to think it could happen. He said they were going to do Buffalo Springfield's On The Way Home; ironically not a song I know very well. So I just sat & stared while he sang it. I don't think I've ever been so happy. I thought 'he'll sing that on the new Eagles DVD'! So already, far more from him than I ever thought could happen.

And then we were treated to a magnificent rendition of You Are Not Alone & he did it again - gave me something I just didn't expect.

To be continued immediately.

Part 2

You all know how I've always wanted to see Glenn sing a song without a guitar. When he put the guitar down all I could think was that I was going to be privileged with I Love To Watch A Woman Dance. But of course, that is not what happened. I won't repeat what has already been said about this, except that once again, he was completely exceeding my expectations when he talked about After Hours & the songs they would be playing from it. As he walked to the mic I could have died there & then. I thought I was witnessing a seachange in his career & also in my appreciation of his talents.

So they started Route 66 & on came the charisma; finger clicking, dancing, air guitar. He was also singing brilliantly. When he finished the crowd did not know what to do, but I thought 'he did that for me. Bless him'.

So then he stood there & sang The Shadow Of Your Smile, a song I don't really know well. It was exquisite. He would keep gazing at the ceiling as he prepared for each line. His voice was rich, creamy & expressive. This was Glenn Frey the SINGER, as if I hadn't already had enough to sweep me away completely.

This has to end now, I thought, as he said 'thank you very much'. But it didn't. He said the next two songs would be more familiar, that 'I've always wanted to record this' & sang Caroline No, in a much more anguished rendition than either the original or Tim's cover version. Watching him sing the words 'break my heart' as he leaned back & threw back his head was extraordinary. He started imitating the percussionists (Scott was using brushes) & he didn't seem to mind for once standing there & watching the other musicians play.

So in my delirium I thought he might favour us with After Hours itself, but we got The Look Of Love which was beyond mesmerising perfection. How brave he was being, taking these risks; it was history & I was there to see it. He was fairly relaxed now so that he started putting his hand on the mic stand which he normally only does when he adjusts it; but here he was singing while clasping it delicately. When he sang the chorus 'I can hardly wait to hold you/feel my arms around you/how long I have waited' I thought that summed up the night. Then it got incredibly poignant, as he sang 'don't ever go. I love you so'. Quite.

The audience was now eating out of his hand & I won't say much about the rest of the set. YES, I got the 'bluesy' Smuggler's Blues. YES, I got I'll Come Running Back To You whichh was gorgeous. He got a standing ovation for Heartache Tonight & encouraged us to sing Lyin' Eyes, which was the final song; 'let me hear ya' he said, so I got a command from him as well.

I was shattered at the end of it, overwhelmed & deeply grateful to this man I love so much, & now I think I should write the next review.

Just went and listened to the original version - wow, there's no comparison with regard to emotional intensity. (Admittedly, I've never found Brian Wilson's voice compelling beyond the Beach Boys harmonies).

I don't know about anyone else, but I find that a live performance often adds 'something' that you don't get in a studio version. I always found Tim's 'Ella Jean' a bit insipid (for want of a better word) on Expando, but live in London it sounded completely different. Admittedly it's still not my favourite song from Expando, but I do like it better. :)

I also think the fact that Glenn and Brian Wilson are two different 'types' of singer (or do I mean voices?) would have a lot to do with how the song is interpreted by each of them. I'm no musician (couldn't tell a B sharp from an F flat if you gave me a million pounds :)) but presumably Glenn sang 'Caroline No' in a different key/register to Brian, which alone would surely have made a difference.

Well - I finally got power back on Saturday night from the hurricane. I'll just say it was one helluva week - it was truly one of those weeks when you have to constantly keep reminding yourself how lucky you are. I'm still having sporadic issues with my pc, but I'll try to get through a few posts. And, of course, I want to start here. I came home from Niagara Falls on Cloud 9 as I usually do when I return from these trips, but Irene tried her best to suck the enthusiasm right out of it for me. I was jazzed and ready to get on the board to gush about the trip with everyone, but it was not to be.

But, I'm here now so I'll just share a few thoughts since everyone has written such eloquent posts already. First of all, as always, it was a treat meeting up with old friends, as well as, new ones. I was almost as excited for all the Borderers that were seeing Glenn solo for the first time as I was for those of us who have already been there and done that. Of course, I won't lie - it was a thrill to have Glenn acknowledge us. Like Nancy said in her first post, when he said that he was doing I'll Come Running Back To You for us because we loved it, I was amazed by his memory of Nancy mentioning that to him. What an incredible man - and, yes ...

I  Glenn Frey!!!

You know FP, my first (and so far only) Eagles show is much like that for me. It saddens me. I barely remember the concert and I can't relive it. I remember being pretty emotional during Hotel California and I remember how amazing the show was and how it blew me away and it was the best concert I've ever been to, but I can't remember any details or anything. I watch some of the YouTube videos from it and I remembered Joe's funny lyric change during Life's Been Good and I also remembered other things from the videos but I can't remember any details and it was a very faint memory for me. I think it is probably due to the same reason you mentioned although I was trying out a new experimental pain drug for my spine and I took a dose that night before I left for the show. I can't help but to think it affected my memory or it caused some amnesia as sometimes narcotic pain meds will do.

All I remember from the show was that it was great and that I welled up during HC and had chills and that I was in the 8th row on the right side and it was September 25, 2008 in Chicago. Other than that I can't tell you much. :( I hate it too as it was the best night of my life and I can't remember much of it. All I know is that it was awesome and it was the best guitar tone I'd ever heard.

But with Niagara Falls I do know what a privilege it was to be there & how significant I thought it was for both Glenn & myself as a fan. I tend to remember more of the things he said rather than the performances of the songs. There was one moment from Show 2, however, which is etched in my brain for all time. Memories inevitably fade for most of us. That's why I always write it all down, in as much detail as possible, as soon as I can. It's not just for the board. It's for ME.

For instance, I went back and re-read one of the old Pebble Beach threads the other day and there were all these little things I'd forgotten... the same is true for the review of the first Eagles concert I ever attended (see review here (https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2465), if you're interested). thank God I typed all those out when they happened!

My, what fun we had! Let's all hope that once After Hours is released, Glenn will be able to play a few shows to support it. I get so excited just thinking about a new album and tour (even if it's a mini-tour).

Much as I would love to do it again, I'm afraid that I can't justify it, which is why am I so deeply grateful for what happened.

And in a way it's a relief to make this clear now & not later if any dates are announced. :weep:

I would just love to meet all of you ladies again. It was wonderful and the whole experience has kept me going all year.

'the time we had went by so fast.....'

I'm still really hoping that If Glenn  does any solo shows in support of 'After Hours' I will be able to make it. Realistically it would have to be during my school holidays, preferably summertime. And like last year, two back to back shows or similar. I dunno if I could justify all that travel for just one show. We've had a blast of unexpected expense recently, but I AM continuing to sneak a little cash away every so often and know if costs are similar to last year I already have enough saved to go.

Julie even if you don't make any more Glenn  solo shows, it was wonderful that you made these ones and that they were everything you hoped they would be. I sincerely hope our paths will cross some time in the future.

The same goes for me. With all the expenses that we had last year & will have this year (we really do need that new roof) there's no way that I could swing it. The only way would be if there was a concert within one day's drive from home & there's no way that's going to happen so I too will resign myself to the fact that there are no Eagle's band or solo shows for me this year. I am so grateful that I got to see two Glenn solo shows last year. Those were so wonderful. They were something that I never thought I would ever see.

GL, if they do a Boston show, that might be doable for you. You're welcome to stay with me to save hotel costs, if so.

Thanks very much, WE. I'll keep that in mind.

I probably would not fly to the States just to see an Eagles show that could quite possibly come to Dublin or the UK. However I would fly to see Glenn  solo again in a heartbeat. :inlove:

There is something special about seeing the Eagles in the USA, so don't rule it out completely!
Money is going to be the problem for me this year, which is why I hope they come over to the UK. I'm sure in the current economic climate it's the same for many of us.

Oh come now, girls ... let's not let a little thing such as money stop us from experiencing the Eagles.

Don't we wish - It's a good thing I'm not rich cause if I were, the guys would think I was stalking them. ... Just sayin'

I'll be there as well -- absolutely, positively.

Unfortunately the silence on Glenn's front has become so deafening that I very much doubt there will be any solo shows. If by some miracle there are solo shows all I will say at the moment is I may think about it. I just wish the album would surface; he's letting Joe go first, it appears.

Going to see the Eagles in the United States is not an option for me at all. I would not even consider it (even with a revised setlist). I have seen them often enough.

You mean you're NOT stalking them Dreamer....... ?

Could've fooled me!

Steph, honestly, I hear you! An Eagles gig in the States would be wonderful I've no doubt, with the added bonus of meeting some Borderers! But I have to balance my cash and see what I can afford, and I'd rather keep it in the hope of seeing Glenn  even once more! And it's eminently possible that they will tour Europe at least with the same show!

If you only knew how much I've spent since 2008 in travelling around to see the Eagles(and my darling Will, of course):inlove: and what I've had to do without so that I could do that. Not that I regret a penny(or cent) of it.

I only hope they appreciate the lengths and expense to which true fans go to see a show(sometimes I'm not sure that they do).

I'd love to see them this year but unfortunately I'm out of work at the moment, so until I get some money coming in, I can't make plans to spend any more.
David Cameron(Tory-boy - UK borderers will know where the nickname comes from!) & George Osborne are in BIG trouble from me if I have to miss out on the Eagles 'cos they are grinding the UK to an economic halt and thus I can't find a job.:cuss:
