The concert last night was one of the best I have ever been to. Will try to write up a complete review that will do it justice.
We got two new songs. Analog Man and Wrecking Ball. I'm not sure where Personal Manager comes from. Joe did say that he wrote Wrecking Ball for the "old" Joe Walsh.

I read in a recent review that Personal Manager was originally by Albert King.

Glad you had a great time!!!!

I heard a short (and I mean SHORT) clip of Wrecking Ball tonight and that was enough to indicate to me that this album will totally ROCK! I'm so looking forward to it!

I was surprised how small the concert hall was when I got inside. The front seats were only about two feet from the stage. I was in the second row dead center which sounds great but I had to look up at Joe and the mic was in the way everytime I wanted to take a picture.
About 7:40 the lights dimmed and the key board player and the two drummers came on stage. It seemed like the stage filled with people and in the middle of them was Joe. Everyone was so surprised to see him not make an "entrance" that it took everyone a second look to make sure it was him. The crown went nuts. He walked to the stage and you know the first words out of him mouth. "How ya doin" followed by "Happy Halloween." He said "everyday is Halloween when your with the Eagles" then laughed.

He followed the same song list for most of the concert.
1. Welcome to the Club. I like the song and it sounded great.
2. Life of Illusion and the whole place started going crazy. Joe bent down and was messing with him sound equipment and a woman in the audience yelled "Hey Joe" Joe said "What" She called back to him "We love you" He just kind of kept his head down but grinned.
I could see Marjorie in back of the singers dancing but could never get a clear shot to take a picture.
He said that if he decided to run for President and that got everyone cheering, he could probably get elected because he would just stand there and let all the other canidates talk, blah blah blah. There started the crowd laughing.

Then he did Walkaway and the crowd was singing right along with him.
He said that the next song was a new one and that they had never played it before a live audience before. It was called Analog Man. I liked the song and a lot of great guitar work in it. Now I'm really anxious for the new CD to come out. I tried to video the song but I didn't realize that the mic was on the backside of the camera and I was trying to be sneaky and not get caught videoing. The picture isn't to bad but all you can hear is my heart beating and the camera rubbing against my blouse. darn.
Rocky Mountain Way was next and another crowd favorite. When he was doing the talk box he pointed to his right and said "Look over there" and then "what's that". I had never heard anyone talk about him doing that before but it was different.
He introduced the backup singers and when he got to the male singer(wish I knew his name) he introduced him as a long time friend and said "he's funky". Joe said check this out and he played a couple of notes on his guitar but they sounded like bells. They then sang I Shall be Released and it was awesome. Joe played a guitar solo in the middle but didn't sing until the last chorus. His voice blended so well with theirs that you couldn't pick it out.

He did Turn to Stone and then he said let's play an Eagles' song and he did In The City. Personal Manager and Funk 49 followed. During this time Joe said he was sick of vampires, all you can see on TV anymore were vampires.
He talked about how he would get on a computer and couldn't get it to do anything after a hour or more, then his sons would come in and get it done in a couple of minutes. "Dang, Dad your dumb. Brats" But he had a big smile on his face then he said it.
He did Wrecking Ball and it's a great song too. I did a video of it and it turned out ok, I will try to post it when I figure out how.
Then Life's Been Good and he did the usual apology to all the kids who had their minds warped because their parents played it so much.. He added that he would rather be playing new music "but let's get it over with". The crowd was singing the song louder than Joe.
He went straight into Life in the Fastlane.

They took a short break and then Joe came out in a long black cape and a mask. The back up singers had on Halloween wigs. I tried to take a picture but everyone was on their feet and I couldn't get a clear shot. He took the mask off right away and put it on his guitar tech. He kept the cape on for the last two songs.
He did I.L.B.Ts and since it was an older crowd they loved it. When he went to change guitars for the last song. A big yellow chicken brought the guitar out. Joe just looked at it and said "I don't know where that came from". As the chicken walked away Joe called after it "Mom"
He did All Night Long and the place rocked. When the song was over he just left the stage. I knew that was the end but a lot of people hung around the stage in case he came back. Several were trying to get guitar picks and there were only two left so I knew I didn't stand a chance so I went ahead and left.
When I got home Bobby asked me if it was worth it. You bet. I would go again tomorrow if I got a chance.

I'm confused as to why Joe is touring and not playing his new stuff everywhere!!! Is he afraid that people will record it at shows and post it on youtube and then people won't have to buy it? Is he afraid of oversaturation already? I don't get it. AZ says that he said he'd rather be playing new music....

Oh, and AZ, the part about you trying to video record Analog Man was hysterical.

Will try a few more pictures.
While the crowd seemed to "like" the new songs, they were there to hear his old music so that is what he gave them.

They are giving this as the set list. So I may have some songs out of order.

I thought it was funny at the concert that a bunch of men were going up to the stage and checking out the sound equipment. Two of the men were very friendly and one of them said that he wrote articles for a web site. I don't know if this is the same man. One man turned around and was kidding me. He said there were x number of ?? on the stage (as if I knew what he was talking about). They talked and pointed some more and the guy turned around and ask me if I "got that". It was all greek to me. But they were nice.

I saw the KOOL radio booth in the lobby before the show and thought I saw one of them with a very nice camera taking pictures. I was hoping that they would post some and here they are.
