Been losing my posts with this airport connection so I will be brief for now. The show was great; they sounded good and looked good. They also seemed to be in good spirits. They played the same setlist as last time. Peek got tons of photos. More later!

Feeling better, although my sleep schedule is probably messed up royally! I started feeling bad after the concert ended. Maybe my PEW just hit me physically as well as mentally. ;)

But on to the review! In order to get this up faster, I'm doing it in parts. This first part is the pre-show stuff.

When I got there and scoped out my seat, I was delighted! My seat was on the far end of Section 17, which was the closest riser to the stage on Timothy's side. In other words, I could not have been closer unless I had been in the front of the floor (or in the four rows ahead of me, as I was in Row E). Considering the haphazard nature of how I attained the ticket, I felt very blessed! This is especially true since the box office told us the show truly was sold out, and the only remaining choice would have been a "street scalper" - or, more accurately here, an "MGM Lobby scalper." We talked to a few going around muttering "Need tickets?" in a low voice (MGM doesn't allow scalping on their property, so it's all done under the radar). We thought perhaps Jess' friend could get a ticket, but what they had wasn't great.

We went to our seats as soon as the doors opened, so we had over an hour to kill once inside the venue. I chatted with Lou for a while, who was essentially catty-corner to me in Section 15. I went back to my seat about 7:55 and who should I see but Jean Schmit leading some of her (and presumably Tim's) guests to a small section of folding chairs set up on the floor right next to my riser. In other words, I was next to the "VIP" section, even if I was elevated and they were on the floor! I tried to discreetly see if I recognized anyone else, but it was impossible to tell without scrutinizing them closely and I felt awkward doing that! (However, turns out actor Luke Wilson was there - he was standing near us as we chatted about the show afterwards.)

VIPs trickled over to where I was as well; the couple sitting next to me on the riser in Section 17 were friends of Marjorie Walsh, and had gotten to meet ALL of the Eagles backstage at one of their rare meet'n'greets. While the Eagles traditionally don't do those, I guess when you're dealing with the kind of wealth you see in Vegas, even the Eagles make exceptions!

What I was most afraid of - that I would be so far over that I wouldn't have a very good view of the guys - was definitely not true. However, the angle of one of the spotlights behind them made any photos I took come out crappy. I wasn't too bothered, though, knowing Jess was getting the goods down front much better than I ever could!

However, I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll start my review of the show itself in the next post...

Sorry this is taking so long - Jess took hundreds of photos! I've gotten them narrowed down to about 150 and I'm uploading those now. I left many out so of course if I've left out any favorites they will be uploaded once Jess gets back home! Because the images have such high quality resolution, uploading even that many will take hours.

I'm organizing them by band member, so they might be a bit out of order.

First of all Soda, I'm glad you're feeling better. Thanks to Jess for taking so many pictures and to you for taking the time to sort and upload a bunch of them so that we don't have to wait for Jess!

I have to admit, when I looked at the seating chart to see where you and Lou would be sitting, I was worried for you. Those corner sections are at a weird angle and sometimes stage equipment can get in the way. I'm so glad you were happy with your seat.

I'm so glad that you and Lou were happy with your seats. Of course, Jess must have really been disappointed with her front row seat. I know it must be a horrible pain having to look at those pictures over and over again. :stunned: Seriously though, I know it is time consuming to sort through them, and then upload them so I'll just tell you ladies right now how much we appreciate your efforts. Awww, poor Glenn! I saw the bandages on the wrists and on his hand and was immediately sorry for him. My hubby has arthur in his hands and some days they really hurt. (He's a carpenter, which doesn't help at all.) I'm glad Glenn can still muster up the courage to play geetar!

Yup, Don sure loves the gray shirts, doesn't he?! I must agree with dreamer and wish him and Glenn would try blue. Glenn is much more adventurous, at least!

Awesome pictures so far! I LOVE the ones of Don, but I am just a tad bit prejudice :-) These will definitely help me remember the concert. It went by so fast and I keep trying to remember all of it. It was an AWESOME concert and everyone sounded so good. I was just a little disappointed that there wasn't a lot of talking from Glenn. I actually think that Don said almost as much as Glenn did. But I think the boys were definitely have a great time together.

Yeah, Poor Glenn :heart:. I too am so grateful that he keeps touring and bringing us all so much happiness through his playing and singing. I suppose he still loves it, and its part of him. But its not like he NEEDS it i'm sure.

I agree with AZ -Timothy's shirt is fab! I like Joe's jacket too. Dare I say, I wish Don and Glenn would act like the rock stars they are and buy a new shirt every now and then, or in Glenn's case, switch up the look a little, maybe tuck a shirt in or wear a dark colored t-shirt or a jacket. Their looks have become so predictable.

OMG!!! I've gotta tell ya, I was scrolling down this page telling myself I have to comment on how gorgeous these pictures of Joe are and then I saw this picture.....I literally gasped!!!! This is beautiful. Lou told me about this shirt (Don fans eat your heart out!!) and told me I would love it. The pics Jess sent via the phone didn't do it justice!! I'm speechless!!

WOW, What fantastic pictures! They all look good.
Timothy loves his vests, as he's been wearing them pretty much since he joined the Eagles, but the shirt is great! Love Joe's tee & jacket, but Glenn has gotta let go of those plaid shirts. Don's shirt is a bit boring.
You got a lot of great shots there; LOVE some of the group shots. I saw some of the album, but not the whole thing yet, but I will.

Well - I have to say that I'm loving Jess' pictures - they are incredible. I have to say, it does make me sad to see Glenn in pain too. I'm with everyone else - I appreciate each and every show that he (and the other guys, too) does. I know it must be hard sometimes to keep at it when you really don't need to. I remember him saying at the first 2007 Niagara Falls show that his "fingers were screaming at him". As a matter of fact, he ended up having a doctor come in to treat him in the wee hours of the morning after that show. We were sitting right in front of the doctor at the show the next night. But I digress ...

Just checking in quickly! We arrived back in Oklahoma an hour or so ago, after driving all night. Vegas was SO much fun, and the concert was fabulous. I am still in awe of Jess's pictures. She did an amazing job. We've been flipping through them on the camera, saying "Willie's gonna love this one", "Cathy will like this" etc etc! They all looked so good and sounded great.

I made a joke of the grey shirt (you know, the one I've been saying I'd quite like to burn...) but I have come to the conclusion that I am fickle and I really don't care! He looks so super hot no matter what. :thud: It's pathetic how much I am sighing over these photos. It makes me even more determined to save up for a front row seat for next time.

Videos like that though, where you can't see much, force you to focus entirely on the audio,which in this case reminds me just how tight those harmonies are.

That video was posted April 29, 2010, says it's from Sacramento show on LROOE tour. I noticed that it was Don in the plaid shirt this time, not Glenn.
They sure haven't changed much, sounds really good though.

This looks like the right place for thoughts on this show. First time I have seen them in person, well worth it! Our seats were on the floor on the right side about even with the mixing board. Pretty good except for the two intoxicated women in front of us.

I have a few pics, they are of the whole stage with the different lighting backgrounds if anyone is interested. The close-up shots from sodascouts are quite impressive.

My favorite song of the night would have to Funk #49, Joe Walsh was especially good throughout. I also liked the solo trumpet intro to Hotel California. I noticed the G.F. wrist bandages too.

The guys seemed just the slightest bit tired, but I can't blame them. I think this was the last stop on the tour, right? Would certainly do it all over again.

Also have a question regarding tour shirts. I keep checking the official site but don't see them. Anyone know where to get the Las Vegas 2011 shirt? I somehow ended up with the wrong size....:scowl:

Thanks for your thoughts on the concert, Slate. Glad you enjoyed the Vegas show. I'm sure it will always be memorable since it was your first time! :wink: Anyway, you are probably out of luck on the tee shirt unfortunately unless you can buy/sell/trade on ebay. I believe all that Eagles merchandise sold at the shows is a private vendor.
