Most recet Tweet about 2-3 minutes ago indicates "Desperado time". Their party is just about over. So sad for the fans there but lucky for us. It means they'll be coming home!

They thought the Dead Sea joke was funny! I liked 'same band, different desert'.

Love those Tweets. We can actually up together their set list from the posts!

'Same band, different desert' reminds me of my cousin visiting in Boston years ago. He was about 3 years old and we spent a week going all over the place. One day we headed north and went to Gloucester and the next day we went to Cape Cod. When he talked to Gran she asked him what he had been doing and he said, "Yesterday we went to the beach and I swan in the ocean." Then she asked him what he did 'today' and he said, "Oh, you know, same ocean - different beach."

Looks like the crowd really enjoyed themselves, and the Band seems to be In top form. I loved the 'same band, different desert' comment! Glenn  looks great on the TIE video. I saw quite a few people doing vids during SBR. So maybe some more will be posted on YouTube today?

Love the fireworks pic from twitter. Lovely end, and means they leave Africa and the Middle East on a high note.

You know, whosever idea it was to start with 7BR and go right into How Long, I think it was a good one. I liked the lights coming up and them starting right in to HL, but there is something very organic and 'forever Eagles' about 7BR. Plus it lets you hear those raw harmonies and gives you an idea of the harmonies to come!

The above review includes a set list that is obviously wrong or just out of order. His review says HC was the first encore and then he lists it 4th. So we still don't know the setlist.

Seven Bridges Road (Eagles Live 1980)
How Long (Long Road out of Eden 2007)
Take it to the Limit (One of these Nights 1975)
Hotel California (1976)
Peaceful Easy Feeling (Eagles 1972)
I Can’t Tell You Why (The Long Run 1979)
Witchy Woman (Eagles 1972)
Lyin’ Eyes (One of These Nights 1975)
Walk Away (James Gang cover 1971)
The Boys of Summer (Henley 1984 album Building the Perfect Beast)
In The City (The Long Run 1979)
The Long Run (1979)
Life’s Been Good (1978 film soundtrack FM. Joe Walsh But Seriously, Folks....)
Dirty Laundry ( Henley 1982 album I Can't Stand Still)
Funk #49 (James Gang Rides Again cover 1970)
Heartache Tonight (The Long Run 1979)
Life in the Fast Lane (Hotel California 1976)
ENCORE:

Take It Easy (Eagles 1972)
Rocky Mountain Way (Joe Walsh song 1985)
Desperado (Desperado 1973)

Nope! Gave me goosies! Again! They sounded wonderful! :smitten:

I noticed that the lights didn't come on for Steuart until he started playing guitar. And funny that they are all (except Tim) holding guitars only not playing. In preparation for How Long, I guess. Steuart, the work horse!

I'm not sure I understand this. Glenn always stands at the centre mic except when Don is singing lead down the front.

Except that they don't do the whole song. I know I'm in a minority here but in Sydney I didn't see the point of it.

I don't mind that they don't do the whole song. As a show opener and lead-in to How Long, I think the part they do serves it's purpose.

The point is that it displays their awesomeness.

Seriously, those a capella vocals are staggering. Would I prefer to hear the whole thing? Definitely. I'm with you there. However, to say that there's no point to it unless they do the whole thing... I can't agree with that at all. The vast majority of the audience (myself among them) is getting goosebumps when they hear the song, not fixating on the fact that the guys aren't doing the third verse. IMHO, starting the show like that is genius, even if they do shorten it.

I have been singing this song all day today...ever since I saw the vid last night..I've noticed Timothy always has his guitar slung around his back when he's not playing...I't just a Timmy thing I guess.

Sorry, FP, I missed this earlier. In Vegas, Don's mic was set up before they came out on stage and never moved. It was dead center and Glenn's was down more toward Timothy and never moved to center that I saw. It was a small stage, so he was close to center, but he was between Don and Timothy the entire evening. I thought I complained about this in my review, but perhaps I removed it before posting.

That's bizarre. Not even for Lyin' Eyes or Heartache Tonight?! Good grief. Normally they just swap their positions.

HH will remember better since she was right in front of them. In previous concerts, when Don was in the center, Glenn moved down towards Joe. Which is where I was sitting at Vegas, so I was not happy to see him stuck so far away from me.

Again, normally, when Don is in the centre Glenn stands next to Tim, not Joe, at least in my experience. During The Long Run for instance Tim & Glenn share the mic.

Right off the top of my head, I think Glenn and Tim share the mike when the band performs Dirty Laundry too. There are probably others where they share the mike as well, but that means I'd have to rack my brain to think of them and right now my brain happens to be dead.

I totally agree with PM and Soda here - the point is that most people would rather hear something than nothing of the awesome 7BR!

Sounds like it was a superb concert... Glenn made the same Dead Sea joke in Jo'burg... But I have to agree the choice to have a DJ 'open' for the band was an odd one. They had no support acts in SA. Out of interest, on the other side of the scale, when I saw Kings Of Leon at Soccer City at the end of last year, they had not one but four South African rock bands as support... First time I've seen that.

People that are recording need to learn not to sing along!!! Can that ever ruin those harmonies!

Hi Topkat, You're right about people recording! Did you see that white shirt with what looked like something striped under it? He wore it in Dubai and I think Johannesburg? There was some discussion about just what the heck the shirt was... I started calling it "Timothy's goofy shirt". But it really doesn't matter what heck he has on does it?:smitten:
