OMG! Totally, freakin' awesome!!!!!!!!!! Total night and day from Wednesday's show. It was unbelievable, our guys were ON! Many pics and more details to come.

The setlist was the same as Wednesday night, but that’s the only thing that was the same. Both HH and I determined neither of us had ever seen them when all four plus Steuart were all ‘on’. They seemed to have such a fun time interacting with each other. It was unbelievable, so bear with us as we try to find the words to describe it sufficiently.



They walked out with big smiles, and a real sense of comaraderie that they maintained from start to finish. Individually they were outstanding. Collectively they were phenomenal. Glenn was Mr. Personality times twenty. Interacting with the crowd, more than just the jokes. He smiled a lot, and seemed very happy to be in that moment and in that place and he made the crowd feel the same way. He said the Dead Sea joke and the Plaintiff joke, timing the last with giving the crowd (with Joe’s animated assistance) to say it with him. When he was introduced, he did the normal bow, then did a little dance in a circle. He danced like that a few times throughout the evening.


Don smiled a lot as well, and seemed to be having a good time. He also seemed to be genuinely happy to be where he was. Very personable with the crowd and others. He again mentioned that this is their 40th year together, they cut their first record in 1972, then he grinned and said, “Who knew?” He said it was a long career, and careers these days seem to be short ones, and then Glenn mentioned ‘deservedly so’ (they said that on Wednesday as well). Then he was very sincere in saying that they are still here because we’re still here. Very sincere.


Joe was happy and smiling all night, he did the Chuck Berry shuffle across the stage, then back. Of course his guitar playing was phenomenal and he and Steuart interacted a lot. At the beginning of Funk #49, he and Glenn did the ‘dueling’ guitars.


At one point, Glenn and Steuart played together guitar to guitar and did the ‘twist and shout’ down to their knees and back up again.


Timothy interacted with the crowd, smiled a lot, and interacted a lot with the others and the crowd in front of him.


HH says she has never had so much fun at an Eagles concert and never had as much positive interaction with the band. I know I’ve never seen a better Eagles concert.


All of the back up musicians were smiling and interacting and looking like they were having a good time. There’s a shot of Steuart smiling ear to ear when interacting with the guys on the other side of the stage. Very genuine look of joy. The pic says it all for what the whole night was like.
For those of you who I know are wondering, Don was up front for LITFL.
At one point when Don stood next to Joe, while Joe was off doing some riff, Don stuck his finger in the strings of Joe’s guitar. Don looked like a kid who knew he was doing something bad and Joe did look at him in some surprise.


As we think of things, we’ll add more later. There are a lot of photos and it will take forever to get them up to Photobucket. I'll do a few, then the rest as I can.

It sounds like you gals got the absolute BEST OF THE BEST EVER. Pictures are totally awesome and I can't wait to see the rest. Defiitely sounds like one smoking hot show!

Not much of an article really, mostly whining about ticket prices but the video is from a show in New Zealand. I'm pretty sure I've seen this clip a thousand times before but have never noticed the look Timothy shoots across the stage at the 28 second mark. Honestly, if looks could kill.....

You're right, Zel. I'm trying to figure out if he was looking at Felder! As I was saying, if looks could kill....somebody most certainly would have dropped in their tracks. You catch another similar glimpse around the midpoint of the video but it's so quick that if you aren't watching closely, you miss it. But he has a habit of looking pretty intense during certain songs anyway so it's probably nothing.

I think Joe looks absolutely awesome...actually they ALL do, but Joe's clean-cut look during that era is one of my favorites. (I also enjoyed the clip he put up on Twitter from Thursday when he did the sports segment -- looking good!)

I don't know...I think that look was more about the horrific rainstorm than anything personal...He's probably thinking, I'm getting wet here, so I'm gonna back up a bit! Maybe he was pissed about that. Tim always looks across the stage at the others.:hmm:

Wow, ladies. Thanks for your review of last night's show. Glad to hear that the guys were in such good spirits and that all of you enjoyed your Atlanta trip. I would have loved to have been able to join you all. And a special kudos to our former Eagles virgins, Zelda and Lizzy - I know your first time will always hold a special place in your hearts. Am I the only one that can't see VA's pictures? I'm only seeing the white 'photobucket' box that says the image has been moved or deleted???

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experiences with us and safe travels to all of you on your trips back home.

Words just can't describe how totally 'together' they all were. This was the third time I've seen this particular set list performed (except in Vegas they also played ASWTDID) and even having just seen them two nights previous, I was totally blown away. Literally, HH and I just looked at each other with our mouths hanging open.

There is absolutely nothing that compares to seeing them up close and in person. Last show I saw was in Denver a few years ago with Mom, Bruce, my brother and sister-in-law. My brother got nearly 200 pictures that night and put them on disc. How I love looking at them and remembering the experience.

Several of Joe that I downloaded for my own backgrounds and av's. I'd put one up as my avatar here but I've pledged to keep my Analog Man avatar and sig until Analog Man comes out - the longest I've ever kept the same av/sig! :lol:

I see Joe is mainly using Strats, Music Mans, and Duesys. Great guitars. Of course Steuart pretty much plays Music Man exclusively other than the occasional SG, Strat, or Tele.

Sounds like a fantastic show, and if they're having so much fun, hopefully it means they'll keep doing them!

I've hijacked my friend Kathy's computer for a bit, so I came here. I will post more when I get home but I just wanted to say how this whole thing was pretty much one of the greatest experiences of my life! I don't even think that it has hit me yet that I was actually there, listening to such perfection and being at my first Eagles concert! The vibe was incredible and some bald guy called me Princess all night long. :steviesmack: My seats were a little further back than I wish, BUT I still had good seats compared to 75% of the crowd behind me! :thumbsup: But, I was able to sit up with VA and HH til the very last minute and enjoy the pre-concert anticipation and have a few laughs before show time. That being said, meeting VA and HH was a definite highlight of the entire concert thing too. Getting to hang out with them and feel the excitement was a real treat. And, I have lots of tips and help on future concerts! I'm really honored that they allowed me to take part in this with them... afterall, I am relatively new here, a complete stranger but I have felt welcomed from day one. I've wasted so much of my life and it feels good to be a part of something fun and obviously, worthwhile. :grouphug:

Awww, Lizzy - that was a very sweet post. I am thrilled for all of you who got to make this road trip because I know exactly the excitement you all are feeling - only wish I could have been there for the fun, too. I've hijacked my friend Kathy's computer for a bit, so I came here. I will post more when I get home but I just wanted to say how this whole thing was pretty much one of the greatest experiences of my life! I don't even think that it has hit me yet that I was actually there, listening to such perfection and being at my first Eagles concert! The vibe was incredible and some bald guy called me Princess all night long. :steviesmack: My seats were a little further back than I wish, BUT I still had good seats compared to 75% of the crowd behind me! :thumbsup: But, I was able to sit up with VA and HH til the very last minute and enjoy the pre-concert anticipation and have a few laughs before show time. I wouldn't change anything for the world!

We LOVED having you!!!! You are a hoot and a half, LP. Anytime . . . Anywhere . . . . I'm ready to do it again. I think you should try New York next time. Half the fun of going to these shows, is meeting new Borderers who share in the same excitement and anticipation. When you are lucky enough to hook up with people who love it as much as you do AND who are easy to travel and hang with -- that's the icing on the cake. Tons of Kudos to Zelda and LP on this trip. Not only was it their first Eagles concert, but it was Z's FIRST EVER plane ride (she got the "wings" from Delta to prove it) and LP drove for about 7 hours by herself in a "risky" car to be there. Well done, Ladies. You rock!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, VA for taking all of the pictures! I brought my camera but felt no pressure to actually use it because I knew you were on it. I had the pleasure of being in the moment without running the risk of disappointing fellow borderers, so thank you. I am (selfishly) thrilled that you can come to Glenn's Town Hall show on Wed to take the picture posting pressure off of me as well, but I promise to take a few pictures. I feel extremely relieved that I'll have you as back up.

I don't think Soda has posted her review from Wednesday's show yet, but the difference between the Wed and Friday shows was extreme. I won't dwell on the negative but it was glaring. It seemed as if there was a storm cloud or a sort of pallor that permeated the Wednesday show. It just wasn't right. I won't give you any concrete, specific reason that would dwell on the negative, but the vibe was WAAAAAY off. On the bright side, as VA posted, I don't think I've ever seen a better show as Friday's. I've seen them where they have been individually on the top of their game, but I've NEVER before seen them where they were so collectively "on". They exuded enthusiasm and genuine joy. It was a pleasure to see. My cheeks still hurt from the joy of it all. Unreal. T

On a scale from 1 to 10 it was a 15. Thank you, gentlemen. It was outstanding!

Lizzy, I love having you here too! We were all strangers at first. It is amazing to me that so many Borderers (& I am sure many others) count their trips to Eagles' (and solo Eagles') concerts to be a highlight in their lives! Meeting up with fellow Borderers & sharing the experience with them takes the experience to an even higher level of enjoyment! I have experienced this myself & there is nothing like it!!! The excitement is extreme when a group of Borderers get together!

I feel the same way Lizzy...being newcomers and to be welcomed the way we were is awesome...Somehow even though I had just met VK, HH, and Soda, they made me feel like I had known them forever...kindred spirits in Eagles fans I guess...hopefully will meet more border friends in the future.

Of course you can ask! The review for the 5/02 show hasn't gone up yet and I think once it does it'll be more obvious. Or not. I'm not sure I can put it into words. Wednesday's show was vocally and musically perfect except for Don missing a cue at the end of In the City, and after that, they joked about the 'surprise ending'. Other than that, there were no jokes, only a couple of times when band members stood next to each other and interacted with each other. There wasn't a lot of interaction with each other or with the audience in general. It was still a great a show, but the show on Friday was so completely great, it emphasized that Wednesday's show wasn't as 'on'.

The entire 5 days in Atlanta went by so quickly, I am trying to piece together my memories of everything that I did. I had so many emotions at the concert, stemming from this lifelong wish of seeing the Eagles in concert about to come true, to the excitement of meeting HH and VA. Being my first time, perhaps I wasn't as observant of the little things, like some of you pro's are. I watched a lot of the concert from the big screens provided, and therefore I did miss a few interactions on stage if the camera wasn't focused on that part at that time. BUT, that's ok... I was THERE and that's all that mattered to me. I remember things like EVERYONE as far as the eye could see, was singing EVERY word of EVERY song, the entire concert. I remember there being just as many younger fans there as ones my age and older. I remember the songs being perfect, note for note and thinking that it was so spot on, they could have been lip syncing to the records. Of course I knew that wasn't the case, but it was just that perfect. I remember thinking that I was witnessing a part of history and for every 'jealous' moment I had of the fans in the front row, there were a hundred other people that were jealous of me, that I was THERE, in the crowd, living that dream! I wish that I could recall details but I simply can't. It was too overwhelming to be there. I wanted to cry, but I didn't. I probably would have if I had been sitting with the HH and VA but, I decided I had better stay composed around bald guy sitting one seat down from me. Music is my passion and I just can't put into words the way I felt that night. But, you guys already know that feeling....

Lizzy, so glad you had that amazing experience of seeing the Eagles live. The first few times I had seen them (in the 70's), they did not wow me the way they did at the HFO show...That show just had me completely floored at the perfection of the performances......They most certainly improved with age!!!

Lizzy, we sure do know how you feel. I kept having nightmares before "my" concert in Melbourne - that I would miss the plane, get sick, the boys would get sick, Don would lose his voice... you name it, I worried aobut it. And yet, it really happened, I was really there, and I'm STILL really, really happy I got to live my dream!. And then got to share it all with such a bunch of wonderful people here.

LOL Not quite! But we snagged one who was willing to break out of the cab line, do a u-turn at some apartments and gun the gas pedal to get us the hell out of Dodge! hehe I did indeed dive in head first... like a champ! ;-)

I was all for walking the mile back to the hotel. I ABHOR waiting in lines. Anything was better than that!!
