First, let me apologize for the lack of photos. We were RIGHT in front of security all night, and there was no way for us to get them. I even clutched the camera tightly in my hand for a few songs, but was never able to get a chance to lift it to take photos. I’m sorry!

Some overall comments:

Glenn wore an overshirt with three stripes: white, black, and gray. He wore blue jeans and had obviously lost weight. The shirt underneath was white. His hair was longer, too, which we loved.

He played a lot more guitar solos than usual, and he said about halfway through that his fingers were yelling at him for it. In fact he had them “talk” and whine, lol. All of the musicians were great, though. His band was Michael Thompson, Al Garth, Will Hollis, Scott Crago, Jonathan Clark, Danny Grenier, and Richard Mangicaro, and they were all “on.” We saw Michael, Al, and Scott at the bar later, and they talked about how much they’d enjoyed playing. It showed. The next night, timfan also got a chance to talk to Al, Will, Scott, and Michael to tell them how much she loved the show, too. (BTW, Michael was so sweet during the show the second night, waving and smiling at us a couple times!)

Some specific comments:

When introducing Lyin’ Eyes, he asked if anyone was a “repeat customer” from Casino Rama last year. A lot of people hooted and raised their hands. He sighed, “There goes the jokes.” He laughed and said, “You know, Jimmy Durante always used to say at every performance ‘goodnight, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are.’ I’m gonna say the same thing every night, too.” He took a deep breath. “I’m going to dedicate this next song, to my first wife…” and then most of the audience said with him – “Plaintiff!” That got a lot of laughs.

After Lyin’ Eyes, he said that he enjoyed playing for a “real” audience instead of a corporate one. He said that at corporate shows, it was difficult to do ballads because they talked loudly during them. However, he grinned, “I do ‘em anyway.” He added that they paid well, though – and that a lot of it went to the IRS. Doing an impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he added in a thick accent, “Arnold can spend more of my money.” Then he told his “Dammitall” joke, same as last year.

He sat at the keyboard for Some Kind of Blue, which was terrific, and stayed there for the next song, too.

On The One You Love, he went high on the chorus like I love to hear. His voice is so rich on ballads. The sax sounded really great, too.

We heard the first of the new album news after Tequila Sunrise. He talked about the fact that the new Eagles album would be a double CD with twenty songs and would be released on October 30. He then said that he was going to do four of those songs, to everyone’s delight – what a privilege to be in the audience these nights! He joked that if you counted the songs from Hell Freezes Over, that averaged about to one or two songs a year.

The first of these was I Love to Watch a Woman Dance. He did this without the guitar and sounded magnificent.

The next was I Dreamed There Was No War. Before he went on to that, however, he made a few jokes. He said that talking about songs was like dancing about architecture. Then he noticed some powder on his guitar neck that he commented “would really made his hands slide well – nice job, Victor,” then paused and added, “That reminds me of the 80s!” After the audience laughed, he said, “It’s like the old days with Joe Walsh…” [changing his voice to sound more like Joe] “I’m just gonna finish this gram and crash!”

He moved from that to talking more about the new album, specifically Don’s song Long Road Out of Eden. He said it was about ten minutes long and very “ponderous.” He stated that it “covered everything from Julius Caesar to Bush – I’m not joking – Don has really outdone himself this time” and that he wanted to write a short instrumental to “allow the mind to rest afterwards.” That, of course, was I Dreamed There Was No War. He played it on a gold guitar that I don’t remember seeing before (but then again I have a bad memory for such things). He pretty much played it all by himself, with very subtle backing. It was so gorgeous, and his face was very expressive as he played it. It was obviously not just another instrumental track to him; he really was “talking” through the guitar. We loved it.

Our third new song was You Are Not Alone. He introduced it by talking about how it came to be. He said that his son Deacon had acted in a short independent film in Germany and that he was asked to add a song to the score. He used this song, which he had originally written for his daughter Taylor (who was there both nights). He explained that she had gone through a rough patch and it was to comfort her – “I wouldn’t want to be a teenager nowadays,” he said ruefully. “It was a lot simpler when I was growing up.” The song was another moving ballad with lyrics straight from the heart, full of emotion. Again, we all loved it – and we’re not just saying that.

The fourth “new” song was actually one we have heard before – No More Cloudy Days – and yes, it’s going to be on the album (as we all know by now).

Another joke the audience knew was the intro to the next song: “Here’s a song my wife likes to call ‘The Credit Card Song’ – Take It to the Limit!” Since this is my favorite Eagles song and Glenn is my favorite Eagle, this is always so great for me. I adore it!

He played another “new” song that he said he had hoped would be on the album but didn’t make it. After the audience reacted with an “Aw,” he was quick to add that he had a lot of songs on the album, so he couldn’t complain. He said that Eddie Hinton wrote it and he just loved it – he even joked that it might be on his next solo album, Prelude to Obscurity. It was I’ll Come Runnin’ Back to You. He really does up the bluesy number right – tearing up the vocals and giving it the attitude, too. He was even dancing around!

He walked over to the keyboard again and said that it was time for the “urban portion” of the program. He went into You Belong to the City – again with Al doing terrific sax and Danny Grenier doing an exciting guitar solo.

Before doing the next song, he went over to the drum kit where various drinks and a plate of lemons had been placed. He grabbed a lemon with salt and took a bite of it, then he commented, “In the Beatles, Paul McCartney used to do that before Let It Be all the time!”

Then it was time for Smuggler’s Blues, which he introduced with the comment that he had done a lot of “research.” As usual, it rocked, both vocally and instrumentally. I especially loved the guitar parts, and Glenn’s guitar playing towards the end was really awesome.

He introduced Who’s Been Sleepin’ in My Bed by telling the audience that it was written by Jack Tempchin, who also wrote Peaceful Easy Feeling. He added with a smile that Temchin’s songs for the Eagles had paid for his beach house. Straight-faced, he also said that “This song was really popular during the Clinton administration.” After the audience laughed, he launched into the song. His vocals were so strong on this song; again, he can really do those bluesy growls. More great guitar here. Afterwards, he was a bit out of breath, and joked that he needed oxygen.

Before The Heat Is On, he told a few more jokes. He said that the Eagles were now selling merchandise “fashioned towards their fans” – meaning the older set. “We’re selling Hotel California lap blankets and Life in the Fast Lane walkers.” Then he repeated some of the “alternate titles” from Farewell 1 like “The Long Walk.” To those he added “Heartburn Tonight” and said that his daughter had come up with “Hearing Aids All in a Row.” Then, he said that Danny had told him one earlier (although we think it was Michael who came up with it)… “The Heating Pad Is On.” That got the biggest laugh out all of them!

And from that he shot right into the real thing – The Heat Is On. Since it was such a big hit and is still heard all the time on weather forecasts and such, even the old fogeys in the comp seats knew it. There was a bit of a mistake on a guitar part, but they just grinned and kept going. It still rocked.

You guys will be happy to hear that Old Black has returned. It was brought out for the rocker Heartache Tonight. At that point, somebody screamed something complimentary and he replied, “Thanks Uncle Dwayne!”

He got a standing ovation after Heartache Tonight, then he went off stage for a bit as the audience hooted, applauded, and called for more. When he came back out and started into Take It Easy, we were all moving to the beat and wearing big smiles. Everyone also enjoyed Desperado. He sang it while wearing the guitar. Michael Thompson was featured on piano. The audience sung with him that “let somebody love you” echo, which I always love to hear.

He got another standing ovation that lasted so long I wondered if he would do another encore – especially when the house lights went back down – but it was not to be. However, the show was so incredible we couldn’t complain. And there was more excitement ahead – we had another show to look forward to, after all!

After this show, I was absolutely speechless. You'll find out why when you read what happened! But to start....

The second night, he wore faded black jeans that were tighter than the denims the night before. He wore the candy-striper pink and white overshirt just like he did when I first saw him in Sacramento with the Eagles, and a black undershirt. Again, looking GOOD.

Although Glenn and the band were great the first night, the second night was even better vocally and musically. They hadn’t had much rehearsal time before performing on Thursday – as timfan posted earlier, Al had said that they hadn’t played the new songs EVER BEFORE! As in not even in practice! Naturally, the band were even more “on” the second night when they’d had a chance to go through the songs a bit more.

The crowd was a bit livelier that night, which was good and helped me feel a bit freer to rock out in the chair, although I could still see lips pursing in disapproval as I raised my finger for “one more time” during Take It to the Limit.

Here’s something that cracked me up – I don’t know if he did it the first night, but I think he did – he announced himself! As he stood off to the side of the stage, a spotlight hit him. Pretending to be hiding, he said in a modulated voice that sounded just like the generic announcer voice, “Ladies and gentleman, we are proud to introduce a founding member of the Eagles, member of the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame, member of the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and all-around cool guy… GLENN FREY!!!”

Most of the jokes were the same, as was the new album information. He didn’t do “Dammitall.” He did add a few other ones. I can't remember the details of one of them, except that it mentioned Michael Vic and a cast-iron house. He also said that Janet Gretzky had “a lot of balls" for some reason. Anyone know why?

He did that “strum” from the end of Lyin’ Eyes with Danny, just like he did with Joe on Farewell 1.

He introduced The One You Love with, “Here’s one that was a big hit for me, which was really exciting. Too bad it was 25 years ago.” More laughs. “I still enjoy doing it.”

When speaking about how You Are Not Alone wound up on his son’s movie’s soundtrack despite the fact that it was written for Taylor, he mentioned Part of Me, Part of You. He said, “You know, a lot of times, you write a song about something completely different and then it gets used for a soundtrack that has nothing to do with it. I mean, Part of Me, Part of You was just a song about friendship. When they approached me, I told them there wasn’t going to be any lyrics about women with guns!”

Before Smuggler’s Blues, he started talking a bit about Miami Vice. “This song was on Miami Vice… remember that? It was on NBC… it was wild. Can’t believe I did that” (or something to that effect).

Before Who’s Been Sleepin’ in My Bed, he joked, “This was from my Greatest Hits collection…” then he paused and just snorted and rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I just have SO MANY of those, I don’t have time to play them all, of course.” He’s so funny, and a lot of times throughout the night, he was cracking himself up!

He dedicated a song to a local rheumatologist who had helped him out Thursday night. He said he’d had a bad flare up the night before (indeed he had complained of his fingers hurting and also of a headache). What a trooper, to perform with such gusto despite feeling so bad. He hid it so well that I didn’t suspect the severity of it, and I felt so bad for him!

At one point, Taylor brought him his guitar and whispered in his ear, which I thought was sweet.

Towards the end, someone yelled out “WE LOVE YOU GLENN!” He replied, like last night, “Thank you Uncle Bob.” However, he added, “If you love me, I’m Glenn Frey. If you don’t, I’m Glen Campbell.” He then paused and launched into a commentary about celebrity mug shots. He said that if he ever got arrested, the first thing he would do is smooth his hair and freshen up. “I mean, come on, have you seen those photos of Campbell and Nick Nolte? Geez guys, get a comb.”

Before The Heat Is On, he commented that he thought he was the only Caucasian on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack, but that he was very proud of it – and it had paid for a lot of red wine.

Well, while it may be out of sequence, I’ve been saving our most personally exciting news for last. So here’s the kicker, folks. Glenn had seen us… and…

HE DEDICATED I LOVE TO WATCH A WOMAN DANCE TO US BY NAME.

Exact words: “I’d like to dedicate this song to some friends of mine – Lissa from California, Nancy from Indiana, and Kay from Virginia. They drove all the way out here to watch the old man sing.” Needless to say we were FREAKING. Oh my gosh, he is so cool!!!!!! Can I get a HOLY FRICKIN’ CRAP here? I think so! This is a man who obviously cares about his fans. What a guy! I admire and respect him so much (gush, gush, gush).

So, that’s our shows. Again, sorry there are no photos. I hope our long reviews helped make up for it!

Yes FP he did wear the guitar for Desperado the second night. The only song either night that he was without a guitar ( or in front of the keyboard) was I Love To Watch A Woman Dance.

GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!

This is completely awesome - he dedicated ILTWAWD to you!!!!! (Kath, he would have included you too if he'd known) What a man. I didn't think he could climb any higher in my estimation, but he just has. He is just the most wonderful, caring, thoughtful, talented, sexy, gorgeous person in the history of mankind - WHOO HOO - I am so pleased for you!!!

Thank you so much for these terrific reviews - we can almost feel we've been there with you. Kathryn, I look forward to hearing more about your encounter with Al in the lift, and it sounds as if all of you had fun with the other members of the band. Oh goodness, it looks like he's going to have a few more worshippers next year, come hell or high water.

Lissa, you are going to have to give your guardian angel a huge thank you!!!! :D

what a great time !!! The Janet Gretsky joke probably has something to do w/ gambling. I am happy for you Soda, Kay and Lissa as well, this is why the solo shows give you something that Eagles shows dont.

Lissa, you are going to have to give your guardian angel a huge thank you!!!! :D

Oh, believe me, I have been profuse with my thanks and threw in a great big hug as well. lol

This came about very last minute, but since I was able to purchase an unused comp the night of the show last year I figured I'd be able to do the same this time around. The first night I was sitting in the 5th row, house right in the isle seat. The view was absolutely perfect. Well...I couldn't see Michael Thompson, but everone else was unobstructed. When Glenn walked out it almost killed me not to be sitting next to the others. He looked sooooo fantastic! I was expecting a suit as it was a casino show, but he came out in jeans. The show was great! All the guys were so obviously having fun. They were really into the music. Glenn was so full of energy, dancing around and giving a little kick with his foot when he hit a certain guitar part that I was surprised when he said towards the end that he was going to play a couple more before he left to take care of his headache. I was so excited when Glenn said he was going to play some new stuff for us. I loved the little instrumental piece called I Wish There Was No War. You can hear the guitar actually talking. A week or two ago I was perusing copyrights and came across You Are Not Alone, but there wasn't much info about it. It brought tears to my eyes, especially knowing it was a daddy talking to his daughter. I wish I could remember more of the lyrics. It talks a bit about teenage angst as in ..."sometimes you feel so isolated"...and in with the "you are not alone" chorus is..."I will always be your friend". But it's done so that it's not obviously from daddy to daughter. You could easily "give" this to a friend going thru a tough time. After the concert, I mentioned to Scott how much I enjoyed Glenn doing the number of guitar solos he did and he said that he had also enjoyed it as Glenn usually doesn't do that. The second night I was also in the 5th row but on the other side of the room, in the center of the row. The good part about that is I was right behind the others that night so I could lean forward after ILTWAWD and say "OHMYGOD" to them. lol I found out when Glenn gave his shout out that I had lucked into the seat right beside the good doctor's wife. I don't know whether they were fans or not but the did enjoy the concert. I noticed them moving to the beat quite a bit. Or at least as much as I noticed anything that wasn't on stage. lol Glenn didn't dance around quite as much the second night, which is not surprising with the flare up. His voice was fantastic, of course, and he looked great. (lol another "of course") I'm so glad that I went. I had so much fun hanging out with Dreamer, Timfan and Soda. I don't get to do that very often, except for the couple times a year that Soda and I get together. Oh and I got to walk down to see The Falls. It's the first time I've ever been there. I think it was the second night that Glenn told us his mom remarried when he was three and they took him with them on their honeymoon to Niagara Falls. There's a picture of him in his little raincoat and hat, smiling while scared to death. He gave the circa of that pic as 1953, however. My math doesn't match his.lol Sorry if I'm repeating things Soda has already said. I just had such a fantastic time. My feet are still not touching the ground after friday night. Lol, I didn't even hear him say Dreamer and Soda's names.

Now you have to tell us how he knew you were there!

When I read these wonderful stories I remember why I am a Glenn Frey fan. He is so caring and has such a great sense of humour. Then there is his talent.

Perhaps he doesn't have the highest profile, and is not always that visible, but I'll remain a fan of his for life.

I liked the 'celebrity mug shot' bit. Someone should have shouted out 'DUDE! We've seen your mugshot! You looked hot in it'!

Just one comment - POMPOY is about friendship? I see that, but the word 'darling' is not often used in such songs...

I assume Glenn caught sight of PLS, Dreamer and Soda in the audience. We were third row center the first night and fourth on the left side the second night; so we were pretty easily visable. :D

In terms of my encounter with Al, there isn't much more to tell.. I entered the elevator and turned around... and there was Al ( he had gotten on behind me) I literally half yelped AL!! When he looked up I introduced myself. We shook hands and talked about the show earlier in the evening and the new songs. I asked how long they had been rehearsing them and Al told me they had only rehearsed them that day.

FP, you asked for more on You Are Not Alone. It is an understated ballad with a prominent violin part as well as acoustic guitar and piano. It's short and sweet, clocking in at about two and a half minutes. Here are the lyrics:

Say goodbye to all your pain and sorrow
Say goodbye to all those lonely nights
Say goodbye to all your blue tomorrows
Now you’re standing in the light

I know sometimes you feel so helpless
Sometimes you feel like you can’t win
Sometimes you feel so isolated
You’ll never have to feel that way again

You are not alone
You’re not alone

Never thought I’d find the road to freedom
Never thought I’d see you smile again
Never thought I’d have the chance to tell you
That I will always be your friend

You are not alone
You’re not alone

Hi all - Well, I am back home, but Cloud 9 followed me to Virginia. Wow - what a good time. What a treat to have been in the audience to hear Glenn perform those new songs publically for the very first time. I can't really think of much else to add that Soda, PLS, and timfan have already mentioned. OBTW - has anyone mentioned that the new songs were AWESOME! I'm pretty sure Glenn spotted us on the first night in the audience. I honestly can't remember the details though because my mind is totally blown, but he did look our way as he was singing and I think he kind of bowed his head. I can't say positively that it was for us, but I'm pretty sure it was.

One other thing I wanted to mention is that Soda, PLS, and I all decided to order a screwdriver one night in honor of Glenn.

I scarcely know how to articulate my feelings after reading Soda's reviews, and most of all, reading about Glenn's  dedications to Soda, PLS and Dreamer. If I weren't sitting in the office right now I think I would be in tears . I feel so emotional.

Girls, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! :D 8) To say that it is COOL that Glenn  remembered not only the three of you, but where you are from, too, would be the understatement of the last two centuries! Glenn  is an absolutely WONDERFUL person to be so attentive, caring and appreciative. I thought, after being such a huge fan for the last 6 months, that I couldn't be more in love with him. Oh, how wrong I was. I absolutely ADORE him, and I hope and pray really hard that I will one day experience the joy of seeing him live in concert.

To have Glenn  announce the new album, and perform some of the new songs as well is really special, and must have been such a thrill for all of you, having waited for a new Eagles album for so long. "How Long" indeed! Glenn  has such a great sense of humour too. Oh, how I regret having been introduced to him so late in my life. How I love him. I love him SO much... :inlove:

Soda, Dreamer, PLS and TF: thank you SO much, girls, for sharing your amazing experiences with us. It is so much appreciated, and I know Glenn  greatly appreciates all you have done to keep his flag flying high. GLENN  FREY RULES!!! :iloveyou:

Now that I've managed to catch my breath, I just want to thank you all again for sharing this experience with the rest of us. I'm intrigued about Deacon's acting role - does he take after his daddy in that respect as well as his guitar playing? EF, I'm putting you on the case to find out more about this film! The dedication to Taylor was poignant - I do hope the fact that she was there means that she has worked through some of her troubles.

PLS, I loved the story about Glenn's mom's honeymoon. Somehow, I had missed that episode in his childhood. Did they show that photograph on a big screen, or is it available somewhere else?

Kath, thanks for elaborating on your encounter. Al sounds like a really nice guy. I would have been too shy to chat.

Oh, and I love all those little details, such as the mugshot business, and the Glen Campbell joke! What a man. Now I think I'll have to check those new screenshots again...

He told the Glen Campbell joke in 2005 at Foxwoods when I though he seemed a bit down.

I just wanted to comment about I'll Come Running Back To You. I'm glad it isn't on the album. Two cover versions are enough surely and Glenn's love for old R&B songs is not necessarily what the band wants to do. I would hope that his apparent desire to record it means we will in fact see Prelude To Obscurity at some stage.

I agree with Soda - it was extremely touching to think that Glenn would go out of his way for fans. Who knows why he did it - he certainly didn't have to. But the fact that he made the effort to do that is something that I will never forget as most of you can imagine. I didn't think that I could admire and respect him any more than I already did, but I was wrong.

I really do think he considers you as friends as much as fans, and you thoroughly deserve that!

The surgeries and family stuff just kind of naturally came up when we were talking about seizing the day and appreciating what we had after that tree fell. Anyway the shows were truly amazing, both of them. He is such a great performer. I'm not sure when he'll do another open-to-the-public solo show now that the Eagles are touring in 2008, but I plan to be there if he does! And I hope some more of you guys can join me!

Well I don't have anything to add to this thread. I was just sitting here at the PC reminiscing. At this time last one week ago, I was in Niagara Falls trying to pick my jaws up off the floor while listening to an awesome show.

I went to the Friday night show and it was so great that I decided to do an internet search for Glenn, and found this place on Google. So you were the girls he dedicated the song to! Cool!

He really sounded and looked terrific. What a show! I can't wait for the new Eagles album!

Hi there GG - Glad you found us and hope you enjoy yourself here on The Border. Yes, and I too enjoyed Glenn's shows immensely.

My favourite Glenn song is one he didn't do Friday night called That Girl. That is an old song from his first solo record. I bought it when it was newly released and I loved it immediately. I may have a new favourite though with I Love to Watch a Woman Dance. His voice sounded so sexy on that that I wanted to be the woman he was slowdancing with... badly. I don't want to get too personal but Glenn was so sexy on Friday that by the end of the show I was fantasising about him doing some very naughty things to me. My husband reaped the benefits of Glenn's charms. LOL. The way his voice got this growl in it on rockers and bluesy numbers, then would be so smooth on ballads... he can still sing with the best of them. His playing was great too and it was a treat to hear new Eagles music. I am mad at myself that I missed him when he was at Casino Rama last year. If he ever comes back here I will be there!

Welcome GG! Saturday my sister was over and I was going on and on about what a wonderful time I had in Canada. At one point I sat down next to her on the couch and told her, "I know you don't give a damn, but you have to see what I got when I was there". She started cracking up and made the proper noises as I showed her my goodies. lol I even made sure she got my new shot glass when we did tequila shots. The show was so great....Glenn was so "on". I love it when he tears it up and gets that growl going, too. Somehow, I think you're going to fit in here just fine! lol Re: I Love To Watch A Woman Dance, when I heard it last year in Michigan I had to get a tissue from Soda when he was done as I had tears dripping off my chin from his performance. He puts so much emotion into his songs...Ok, I'll stop now. lol I'm glad you made you're way here.

btw, not that anyone care, lol but here's the glass. I just love the leaf.

That Girl is one of my favorites, too. It's so romantic. I love that way he sings it in this vulnerable, yearning, yet strong vocal - the kind of vocal that makes you realize there's no one who sings like Glenn. And lines like "the raindrops are falling, and I feel like calling that girl" are so... Siiiigh. You know, lyrically, that doesn't look so remarkable but it's the emotion in his voice that sells it.

In case you didn't notice, GG, I think Glenn is ALL THAT and a bag of chips! But don't get me wrong, I love the other guys, too.

GG, I welcomed you in another thread, but hey, I can welcome you again! It's great to have you here. I've just quoted your whole post here because even though I couldn't be at his shows (how I longed to be there... :sigh:  ), I can just imagine how wonderful it must have been. How far from the stage were you sitting? I haven't had the pleasure of hearing "I Love to Watch a Woman Dance", but I know what you mean when you mention how sexy Glenn's  voice was singing that song. I've experienced that listening pleasure in many of his other songs, and believe me, my thoughts have been pretty impure as well  . I'm single, though, so I don't feel guilty! Okay, Glenn  is attached, so I'm a bad girl, I know...

I absolutely agree with you regarding the versatility of his voice. He is simply a great singer, and I can never get bored listening to his voice range and the variety of songs he sings. He blows me away! And then he's so gorgeous too... the whole package. They don't make 'em like that anymore...

I also love "That Girl". It's beautiful, gentle and romantic, and I wish he was singing it for me! I think "No Fun Aloud" is probably my favourite Glenn  album, although it's a difficult choice. I also love "I Volunteer" and "She Can't Let Go" - equally aching and romantic. The song I'm playing to death at the moment is "Love in the 21st Century" from "Strange Weather". I just love his performance of it in "Live In Dublin". He is just super-sexy, and that guitar solo is something else.

Soda, I love your description of Glenn  - all that and a bag of chips indeed! Maybe Glenn  would prefer a more "livin' right" description: perhaps "all that and a basket of fruit"? Nope, doesn't have the same effect...

I think "That Girl" is one of the best songs on NFA, I've been trying to learn the triangle parts.

I love That Girl as well. Actually, I like every song on NFA - it's almost tied with Strange Weather as my favorite solo album. However, my favorite of all the ballads on the album is I Volunteer. I just melt everytime I hear it.

Mrs. F, I'm afraid I can't take credit for the slang expression - it's really common in America. But I feel it does fit him, lol.

Zermie - I think I saw a transcription of the triangle part for That Girl on Ebay for $9.99 - you better hurry and get it before someone else snatches it up. But be careful about sniping - triangle players can get downright vicious. I think it comes from that whole "my instrument isn't as big as yours" complex.

Dreamer - his voice when he sings "But you still don't know, you don't that it's me who really loves you so desperately" has such anguish in it that it makes me go "aw" every time! And No Fun Aloud is right up there with Strange Weather for me, too - a close second.
