Enjoyed him as both "Deacon Frye" (something about that name sounds familiar ) & "George Jefferson". RIP

I guess he's movin' on up. RIP.

I was thinking the exact same thing, PM. He has moved into that big deluxe apartment in the sky.

Sherman Hemsley was a wonderful comedic actor and I adored the character of George Jefferson - that lovable little twit! I remember when they first introduced the character on All In the Family as the Bunker's neighbor. And GL - that name Deacon Frye does ring a bell, doesn't it.

My thoughts go out to his loved ones at this time. R.I.P. Sherman Hemsley.

Sherman Helmsley had that great timing in his delivery that made him such a fantastic comedy actor. He gave us many laughs on that show! Yes, movin' on up, was his song. RIP:angel:
