hearing about Don doing a meet 'n greet today made me curious about them...I don't remember hearing any of the guys doing one since I've been on the board...anyone been to one with them...how do you get into it?...I guess they don't do them very often...I'd love to hear more about these...

zelda, none of the guys do meet 'n greets as a standard practice. Joe used to do them occasionally for members of his fan club, but it's been several years since he's done one as far as I know. Nowadays, if any of the guys do them, it's usually a for a private event that the general public can't get into without some connections.

I have never heard of Glenn doing this, EVER, not even at a private event.

Glenn has done them on occasion at private events. I remember that several years ago, Soda was given a pass to get into one in Chicago (I think), but she let her friend go instead since she had already met Glenn.

I'm not sure Don had a meet and greet. I recall that tweet where Annabel came as being a few years old.

You noticed that, huh . . . . . Not to worry, when push comes to shove -- I think I'd "Get Over It" and manage to find my voice!

Me!!!! of course.
I'd go back stage and use my sparkling personaliy to get the rest of you losers -- I mean Ladies -- in!! And if it takes me three or four hours - not to worry. You just keep waiting by the stage door. :partytime:

Worded exactly the same? Not that I'd expect you to remember. The tweet before it is in Spanish and it seems to be from her cousin.

Dreamer, Joe did at least six Meet and Greets on his tour this summer. He did one at Wolftrap. I entered to win it, but didn't win. I posted how to enter the ones he was doing back in his thread somewhere, but it was on his webpage.

I thought it was Michigan, but I'm not sure. It was PinkCoatGirl, I think her name was Bree. There's a pic of her somewhere with him. He's wearing a throwback San Diego Chargers tshirt that hurt my eyes to see, which is why I remember it.

Wow. As someone who can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, I bow to the master. Your memory is amazing -- and a little scary!!

Didn't TBF meet Timothy at one a few years ago? Was it an official Meet and Greet, or did she just happen to see him?

Yeah, but do you remember --- Who is you're best concert-loving, easy-going, never an issue, Eagles-loving, best-travelling buddy ? If you say Dreamer -- you're done!

You might need to remind me in November! Heehee, of course I remember, silly.

However, about the 'never an issue'...I'm remembering 'Man up, Mary'.

Yes - it was the Michigan show on the Prelude to Obscurity tour. Glenn was doing a M&G for casino VIPs. A lady who was a casino VIP recognized me from a show earlier that year and gave me a backstage pass, but there were three of us - me, PLS, and Bree - and of the three, only Bree hadn't yet met him, so I gave it to her. She only got to talk to him for a few seconds and get the picture taken.

I'll let Willie give you more details, but basically she saw him walk out the door. He said he would come back but he never did. :(

That said, back in 2009, he milled about after his first show in Los Angeles. I don't know if you'd call it a "meet and greet" per se, but he signed things and talked to fans.

they shoud do like earth wind and fire

They sell vback stage passes and you get to go back to a designated area and have a professional picture taken the band. You get to shake their hands and say Hey but no autographs and they smile and the picture is taken and you get it and leave. The money raised goes to the bands charity for music in inner city school programs. its a win win situation.

one of my best concert memories ..everythime we have seen them we did it . LOved the expierence. The original band members (verdeen white,Ralph johnson and Philip Bailey are very humble people and thank you for supporting them and their charity.

Too late, I already saw it! It's burned into my memory on a permanent basis anyway, so it doesn't really matter. From the neck up, it's a great picture.

 VA - I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that Joe hadn't done any recent M&Gs - I was aware that he did these, but I guess I had one of those brain farts. I mean we were just talking about these on our recent trip to AC. Unfortunely, mentioning Atlantic City and Meet 'n Greets together makes me cringe. I can't ever go to AC without being reminded about the one and only M&G that I was ever supposed to go to that Joe had in AC a few years ago. Some of you newer members may not have heard the story, but it turned into a disaster and I totally missed the entire M&G. Here is the link to the story if anyone wants to read it, but, be warned, it is kind of a downer ...

And VA and HH - it looks like we have a few things to sort out on our next trip in November about pecking order, travel companions, etc. :hilarious:

I'm actually very surprised they did any Meet & Greets at all. I would not have expected that. There were never any M&G at any show I was at...I know they wouldn't do it at an Eagles show, but not at any solo shows either.

Wish that they still did these and it was so nice to read his comment about "just wanting to have breakfast with his kids"

Thanks, TT! Believe me I treasure that!

Yeah, remember back in the early 2000's they talked a lot about being tired of touring. Evidently something changed their minds (probably $$$$$) because then they came out with the LROOE cd and started touring all over the world! lol

Yeah---that's when I knew our relationship was over because he just left me there. Lucky for me, Nancy & Cathy took me home. :hilarious:

It was after the show in Chicago and we had heard he had milled around after a couple shows, signing autographs, etc, but hadn't heard anything about this one. He was walking right next to me & so I got brave and asked him if he would mind signing a picture I had with me (a publicity picture from the Tell Me The Truth era) and he said yes and to wait a minute, he'd be right back. Then they whisked him away and out the door never to return. :-( We found out later that he had a radio interview he had to do. I'm convinced that he came back looking for me but by that time, I had already left. He wouldn't have broken his word to me, right? ;)
