In Europe we use litres. It's about €1.70 per litre. Which is about $2 per litre. There are 7 pints in 4 litres and a gallon is 8 pints. So that makes it roughly $9 per gallon. Are you girls envious? I think not!

I fill up every 10 days or so. That only does my work gas. If I use the car weekends I need to fill more frequently. It costs about €80 ($100) per fill! Ie €240 ($300) per month. Minimum.

I'm not glad that you guys pay more outside of the US, but I'm glad you posted about it. And this has nothing to do with any political affiliation but too many people always blame the President of the US for high gas prices, whether it be this President or any past President. They obviously aren't in charge of the world market of oil and gas prices. Perhaps there are decisions or policies that may come into play, but it's just one of those things I hear ill-informed people b*tch about and it drives me insane! Thanks for letting me vent. :-D

Oooh, I totally hear you on the "stupid things to blame on the President/Prime Minister" thing.

Surely there are enough legitimate gripes without adding things they have no control over!

I've been buying ethanol-free gas for the last month or so...$3.70/gallon but a)I'm definitely getting better gas mileage and b)the prices aren't fluctuating like the mainstream stations...

On our way to the game Friday night, my uncle and cousin kept looking at gas prices in Bristol (yep, the NASCAR Bristol :))...the farther we went into VA, the prices kept going up by 3-4 cents every station we saw!! Weird...

Why is it falling now? Obama is running for President! He's gotta look good when the race is so close!

Haha, Brooke! While I agree, it always falls this time of year and will go back up a few days before Thanksgiving. It went down to $3.37 here in town this weekend.

Yep - and the price around here always goes up in the spring/summer. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that travel is at it's peak then.

And of course it will go right back up for holiday travel!

I live in a rural area, equally distant from several towns. If I go 5 to 6 miles east, the Sheetz has regular unleaded for $3.43 (it was $3.57 yesterday). Six miles in the opposite direction, it's $3.25 ($3.39) yesterday.

Yes, plus more and more refineries will switch over to heating oil and propane as winter sets in. So far, this doesn't look like a friendly winter when it comes to heat, and it's technically still fall!

On Thursday, it was $2.95 here in Warrenton, but one of the stations that's been involved in the price war had moved theirs up to $3.05. I didn't notice what it was yesterday, I'm getting ready to go pick up a few things, it'll be interesting to see if they've all gone up.

How about the price of home heating oil? I think my last bill was about $4.30/gallon with a 5 percent bio-fuel discount. I'm looking into alternatives but the change is an added (exhorbitant) cost. In the words of my father: "Put On A Sweater!!!"
