I think, Don Felder is my favourite Eagle, because he play Lead Guitar,
so I open this topic for talking about Fender, Not only because I prefer Fender to the others Guitars, but because the Eagles always use Fender.
So.......

I'm a big fan of Fender guitars as well. The bass I want to save up and get is a Fender Jazz bass. I'd love to get one of the FJ's like Tim has, but they're a little out of my price range

I'd also like to get a Fender Tele and Strat......but those'll have to wait. ;)

but my favorite acoustic/electric is a Gibson Chet Atkins SST is black 8)

I am sorry to be pedantic here, but the Eagles also use Gibsons, and when they play acoustic, they use Takamine. Both Frey and Walsh also play Rickenbackers.

I forgot about the Telecoustic and Stratacoustic. They look really interesting, but I've never seen them in a music store around here to try out. Definently interesting though.

I like all of the electrics you posted, but one of my fav.'s is the Aerodyne Classic Stratocaster. Very nice guitar!

Freypower,

I know about the Rickenbacker GF 230, is the "Slide Guitar" of Joe Walsh.
About Gibson they have a lot of Gibson Les Paul. About acoustic Henley & Frey have Takamine, but Walsh have the Gibson Jumbo. I think Don Felder have a Gibson or a Fender, but not a Takamine. The song with Felder with an acoustic are Peaceful Easy Feeling & Heart Of The Matter, from HFO and The Sad Café.
Where can I buy Rickenbacker GF 230??

Timothy may use mainly the Fender Jazz bass now but for many years (1991-2003/4), his main bass was a Carvin bass specially made for him by Carvin. Since that time Carvin has turned his "one of a kind" bass into a line of basses and Timothy is one of Carvin's spokespeople. :)

Surely Felder's guitar in the HFO version of Hotel California is acoustic?

Frey uses a Gibson Les Paul but also a Sunburst. In fact when he plays solo shows he seems to have given up using the Les Paul.

I am not a musician so I am afraid I can't answer your question.

Marcox - I'm trying to teach myself bass and acoustic (and will eventually try the electric lol). Right now I have a Peavey bass, but my goal is to get a Fender Jazz. But in the meantime...I would LOVE to get a Squire, but need the money first

Tim is pretty much the one who inspired me to learn the bass, as I love watching him (and hearing) him play on F1. I know he has other basses, but I love the look and tone/sound of the Jazz bass that he seems to play quite often. I've looked at that one a lot, but I were to ever get one someday....I'd go with the black version ;)

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but here is Don Felder on his guitars:

"I play about eleven different guitars onstage - nearly one for every song. We try to play live the way we record, and with three guitarists in the band, that means everyone changes instruments a lot. we use different combinations of guitars to re-create our recorded sound." Among the guitars Felder uses are a 1959 Gibson Les Paul with a Sunburst finish, two 1957 maple-neck Fender Stratocasters and a 1955 Fender Telecaster.
"It's a Fender double-neck six and twelve string. Fender never actually made a double-neck like that, so I had one put together, mainly using Fender parts. I'll be using it on 'Hotel California.' If it works out, I'll suggest that Fender start making them - and they probably will."

Hubby got me a Fender Squier for Christmas! Its red with a white front plate. It may not be the King of Fenders but its my first experience with electric guitars, it looks well and IMO sounds great. As I don't gig, and only play for myself it suits my needs fine. I like it anyway!

LOL, GA!

You received a wonderful gift for Christmas, and I'm sure you will treasure it always. I still have my first guitar, which my parents bought me in 1990, and the one I currently use, a Cort acoustic electric, I purchased in 1999. Those are the only guitars I have, but my goal is to obtain a Fender Telecaster, like the one Glenn  plays, as in this picture:

http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z69/mrsfrey_photos/GFreyATB01.jpg

My friend and lead guitarist in our band owns a "Tele", but his pick-up is different from Glenn's . I knew it looked different, but didn't know the reason for the difference, so I described it to my friend, and he explained that Glenn's  is a "humbucker" pick-up. It's a double pick-up and apparently minimises the hum that the guitar gives off through the amplifier.
