It is certainly a peculiar look. Another thing that caught my eye was the review. That has to be one of the frankest reviews I've ever read. They certainly didn't sugarcoat it!

AFAIK this hasn’t been posted; it’s a FB link from last year that shows Bernie backstage at the ‘74 California Jam. He’s with the little boy who appears on one of the video clips. What a cute pic!

I recall seeing it a while back on FB, maybe this post :shrug: but I thought someone commented that they thought it was Jackson Browne's little boy. Anyone here know?

Delilah - Thank You for the picture. Jackson's son Ethan was born in Nov. 1973. He would have been too young. I don't know who the adorable little boy is. Randy's twins would have been 4 in one month(May 1974). I would love to find out who he is. He is so damn cute. Remember the picture from 71/72 with I think Randy's eldest son in the picture with them at Bernie's house in Topanga Canyon.
PS -Aren't Randy twins the kids shown in some of the HC publicity photos ?

Ok, I found the picture. It was taken circa 1971, so his twin son would be about a year old. This little boy looks older than that.

Delilah - TY, that picture is so cute !. The little boy looks to be about 5 or 6 to me. Randy's son Dana would have been around six, so it could have been him.

Somewhere, I read that the boy in the Topanga Canyon photo was a neighbour's son, but I don't know if that's right. According to the photographer (Ethan Russell), it was taken before the first album was recorded.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that isn’t Dana, who was born in 1963 and had blond hair. Here’s a picture of him with Randy during his Rick Nelson days.

ETA: the Ethan Russell photo is indeed rare then, being taken before the debut album was recorded. It captures a moment when these 4 guys from different backgrounds and parts of the country, are still getting to know each other while sharing that common bond of music and bringing their respective talents and experiences to create magic and history. Thanks for that detail, UTW.

Delilah, thanks for that photo of Randy, Rick and his son. I thought he had blonde hair. There is a picture that has been posted in the Eagles photo thread of the guys in front of a hotel with Dana and two kids who apparently were relatives of Randy. Dana has blonde hair in that photo.

Yep - Thanks for the info, UTW. I'm pretty sure Ethan's photo has been posted and discussed on the board before, and I agree that the little boy is not Dana. I don't know where it would be though, and I'm sorry, but I don't have time to search for it. With all the Photobucket issues, the picture may not even display anymore, but the discussion would still be there if anyone is interested in trying to find it.

OT: Richie says that Val Garay is producing this album, which is being recorded in Nashville. Mr. Garay produced Randy's most successful solo album, 1980's "One More Song," as well as Richie's 1979 album "I Still Have Dreams"; the latter featured backing vocals of Timothy Schmit and The Meis.
