I don't know the answer to shun's question, particularly as it involves rumour rather than fact. However to keep this going I will guess Don Henley.

You are correct, FP. He talks about it in this video. Even though he doesn't say her name and a few people have said it could had been her. That's why I said rumored. And Jack Nicholason did just finished a movie with her around the time Don was writing material for the EOI album.

Is it an organ? Always thought it was an electric piano on the HOTE DVD - there looks to be an (unused) organ behind him though... I know the guys used to be a lot more flexible in what instruments they played back in the 1970s, something sad about seeing them all at the front now in my opinion.
