I don't have time for a full review but here's a quick note.

Tim looked great and if I hadn't known that he was recently recovered from surgery, I would not have been able to tell anything had ever been wrong. His backing vocals were flawless, he spoke to the audience without being hoarse, and interacted with the audience at times. However, he did not do any leads, and "I Can't Tell You Why" was dropped.

He seemed to me to be into it and happy, and showing no ill effects. The other guys also appeared happy and energetic. Joe was doing different things on the guitar, Don and Glenn were all smiles and telling funny jokes that weren't necessarily the same-old same old, and they were playful with the audience. I loved it!

My one disappointment was no "Funky New Year."

I wasn't able to get any good photos, but here are three from Zelda:

I haven't been able to sleep much tonight & figured I'd get up after reading my last message from Soda & see if anyone had been on. Glad I did. Can't wait to hear full review but these pics are wonderful! That last one is perfect. Good job Zelda!

Great to hear that our lads were in good form and that Timothy does not seem to be suffering any ill effects from his surgery. Hopefully he will go from strength to strength. Glad too that Glenn  and Don were in good spirits, although I had thought they WOULD have played FNY!

Willie! I couldn't sleep either at that time. We must have been with the girls in spirit!

I'm at the airport and have some time, but haven't given much thought to a review. Still in a Peaceful Easy Feeling frame of mind. It was a fantastic show from start to finish. As Soda mentioned, the guys were all in great moods and were in fine form. HH (and her DH) and I were front and center and in Eagle heaven.

In Nov. 2011, the ushers assured us that pictures were OK, but no video. Last night, the same ushers (yes, I recognized them) said no video and no pictures. They only said this to the first two rows that I could tell, but I'll be honest and say that I wasn't paying attention, I was talking the people behind us. They very definitely came up during the concert and told people to stop taking pictures. "No cameras" were the words used. They weren't as strict towards the end of the concert, but I've been wondering what our guys thought of pictures overall vs. pictures from the front rows and I guess I finally have an answer. Or not. Anyway, I never took my camera out of the bag, so I'm glad Zelda got a few good ones to help me remember the concert in years to come when I'm too feeble-minded to even remember my own name!

They all looked fantastic. As Soda said, it was good to see Timothy looking so good and talking so well, but they all looked and sounded great. I loved what Glenn wore (especially his stunning smile). I really wish these guys would pass along their secret to the fountain of youth. Joe was in incredible form and rocked the place. Don sang all his songs well, but did another great job with Desperado. Glenn, of course...perfect.

The concert flew by as they always do when it's a great one. I made notes on my phone about the setlist, and I'll transfer that when I can, but it was basically the same except without ICTYW.

This is the first time since the second week of March that I've not had an Eagle-related concert on the horizon, so this is a bit depressing. Glenn did say that they would be back at the MGM next year, we can count on it. Of course, he didn't say when. They didn't mention the DVD, I guess they aren't into giving themselves a 'commercial' during a show.

wow vA SOUNDS LIKE THEY WERE IN THEIR USual fine form and that it was a great show.

so they were only harping on no cameras to the people in the first two rows only?? MAybe the flash or cameras are too distracting.
from the one good picture that brenda got of the whole group they all looked happy and healthy and great...
thanks for the update have a safe journewy home...

VA Glad you had such a great time!! When you have a chance, I would love to see the set list. Did they replace ICTYW with another song since that was dropped last night??? I know you were hoping for the Funky New Year Song...but sounds like that one didn't happen.

Hope you all have a safe trip home!!!

Thanks for the pics & reviews gals. I was anxious about Timothy's well being too. So happy to hear & see that he looks so good. I was wondering if he would be up to singing ICTYW. I'm not surprised because, as of the announcement of his surgery, he hadn't even started to sing again. I can tell from the photo that he was singing some. Was he able to sing throughout the entire concert?

Thanks for posting so quickly and setting our minds at rest. I was so relieved to hear (& see!) that Tim is doing well. I'm sure Tim's leads will be back in the newly revamped show they're talking about (and, ever the optimist, I'm sure we'll hear something about time frames soon. Well, soon-ish. ;)).

Zelda, those are lovely photos, thank you so much and to Soda for posting them.

Relief has never been a feeling I've had after seeing an Eagles show...but boy it sure was how I would describe how I felt after Sunday night...seeing Timothy was a sight for these sore eyes!...I could tell though that he was not his usual self...I thought he seemed quieter on stage than in the past...it was subtle little things I noticed...if you weren't watching him closely, you might not even notice anything was different...but since I am always watching him pretty closely...ok really closely...I noticed....it was kind of an energy thing to me...it's like he wasn't quite 100%..which is totally understandable...was very happy to hear him talk...when he introduced Glenn..his talking voice sounded totally normal...no hoarseness or anything...I thought maybe he wouldn't try to sing at all and just play, but he was singing background all night...of course I missed hearing him sing "I Can't Tell You Why"...but wouldn't want him to push it...I was thinking...whatever he wanted to do Sunday night would be ok with me...I'm curious as to how he felt after the show...really tired?...hoarse?...I guess we'll never know...still saying prayers for him that he continues to recover and the next time I see them...I will hear that sweet voice sounding totally normal again!

I love that jacket & tie look on Glenn.

He really did look fantastic. His hair was perfect, too, these pics don't show it well. It wasn't as short as back in May and it wasn't curly. Wonderful waves. Also, the jacket wasn't as long in the back as the shirts he usually wears, so that worked out very well (for me) on several occasions.

TT: Hmmm, that about covered it!

TK: They most certainly didn't tell people to sit down. In fact, once again, Timothy was motioning people to their feet. I don't want to put words in HH's mouth, but it was a casino and some of those in comp seats didn't really want to be there. The ones next to HH left early and I'm not certain they knew who the Eagles were. Of course, the ones behind me were in heaven to have gotten the seats and were in total awe before the concert to be able to be there (I didn't talk to them afterwards). The VIP crowd was very sedate during dinner as well. I would imagine, they've played casino crowds enough that they expect this sort of thing occasionally by now.

I want to mention that before Funk #49, the guitar 'dueling' between Glenn and Joe was fantastic. I was in total awe of the both of them, perhaps because it was right in front of me. Watching their fingers and watching them make it look so easy, I have a horrid feeling I was watching with my mouth hanging open like some sort of guppy. I can hear my grandmother now telling me that ladies don't sit with their mouths open (of course, they don't comment on the lengths of jackets vs. shirts in the back, either).

The other thing I want to mention is something that's often overlooked and that's Don's drumming. I've mentioned after other concerts that he seems to truly get into LBG, but usually when he's really drumming or on percussion, someone else is singing, or Joe's tearing up the place on guitar, and one tends to look elsewhere. So they miss seeing how much of himself he puts into it, and with consistent and amazing results.

I take the post to mean (and correct me if I am putting words in your mouth) that not everyone around you were "eagles fans" or people who purchased their tickets through" LIVe NAtion" VIP.
Like some of the people who were there werent that in to the group that was performing before their eyes.

at least when we saw them in NJ at the revel...Sela ward was a big eagles fan and she was sitting right next to you. When Jahh took my picture with her, she told me how great they were and how much she loved them.(the eagles ) and that she was a fan for a long time.

I have to say the whole floor seemed to be rockin' the whole night but my section was a dud...nobody stood at all until maybe during the encores...people were actually getting up and leaving right before the encore...there was a couple right behind me who talked through the whole show..I felt like sayin' to them...if you want to have a conversation why don't you go somewhere else and have it...obviously they weren't Eagles fans...and when Glenn introduced Timothy...I was the only one in my whole section who stood up and cheered...wtf!

I am reading the reviews from Las Vegas 30th December.
I cannot believe anyone would go and not like The Eagles
Being in Australia I presume you mean people won tickets in Competitions.
I had Tickets in 2nd Row which I paid a fortune for for Novembers concert,I was travelling but had to return early.
I was so upset, being in the front rows is an amazing Experience.
I watched a little of the Concert and I agree Timothy wasn't quite his usual self, but who would expect him to be?
I think it takes longer emotionally to come to terms with these things and physically too!!
It is a different you who comes out the other side,& even if all is well, it certainly knocks you around for a long time.
A gorgeous guy, I hope he recovers well, I could sit in the Front Row and watch them every night of the week, wish I lived over there!!

L&T, sorry! We tend to forget not everyone understands everything. 'Comp' is short for complimentary. The venues, especially casinos, give out tickets to their important customers, usually those who gamble with a lot of money, people who may be celebrities, or people they owe favors to. The ones in the second row behind me simply knew someone that works there. Anyway, not all the people who get these tickets are fans of whomever's playing there.

TT, I think the comp tickets are face value tickets that didn't sell, so they give them to their top gamblers at the last minute. Don't forget that the "face value" are in the range of about $500- 1,000. for the first few rows. Not everyone wants to spend that kind of money for concert tickets. In Vegas, there are so many shows to see that people have plenty of choices. It's not like they are the only game in town.
I saw front row tickets for this show selling on Sub Hub for $494. / ticket, which is a pretty good price for the front row & this was the day before the show.

Where did you get that idea? These are not unsold tickets. Maybe further back, but not these. Face value for front row is the same...for this show they were $225 plus taxes and fees. The good comp seats at places like MGM are held back from being sold. Trust me, front row center seats would have sold immediately through Ticketmaster. Some are held for VIP Nation and I believe some are held for other resellers. Trust me, these aren't seats that weren't sold. In general, the seats you see pop up on Ticketmaster in the last week or so are comp seats that won't be used.

Well Tk, I happen to know first hand from venue managers I have know over the years that there is a set group of seats that are theirs and they have to have available for their "high roller Guests". I dont even qualify for that..... when I have gotten "hooked up" for tix that I paid for in the past....there were ones that I couldnt have cause :

1)they were set aside for "the band " to give to their family and guests only
2)then there was the seats for "vip live nation types" and "commitments for fan club type things" per the bands contracts with the promoters
3) then the high rollers come in.
I have been told from the horses mouths of people I have know personally in the position from the box offices that "there are certain seats they can not sell that have to be available for the high rollers no matter what". They are not seats that per you "dont sell" .
Its their venue and they have their way of doing things and some of it is contracts with the aritists themselves what they require.
I had heard a long time ago that the eagles made the deals with vip nation so that even though the tickets were expensive they were contractuly bound to hold a certain group out to keep for die hard fans that want to pay $$ and not to fall in the hands of the scalpers..(another thing that pissed off dh)
NOw all this being said , when we saw them for the third time in 6 months...the unsold vip nation tickets turned up three days before the concert on ticketmaster ,,,,we bought them at face value and they were the exact seats we had paid preium from vip nation back in the summer .
Thats how it goes to the best of my knowledge from people "in the business"

OK, I'm a little confused. When the tickets for the Revel went on sale the front row was $995.00 with the VIP dinner & drink or what ever it was., but I was lucky to get a front row seat for that show for I think it was $280.00 two days before the show. The seat was a little to the side, but the people sitting right next to me said that they paid the $995. for the seats.

In Vegas, I didn't realize that the front row was regular price of the $225 + fees.
I guess every venue is different, & I guess the number of seats they give the high rollers is also different....Each show is a different situation I guess, so it's not predictable how many of the people up front are "comped"

It is a little confusing to me, but it is what it is. I was only able to get front row that one time because it was a decent price. I really can't pay $1000. for concert tickets, even if it is the Eagles, it's just not in the budget for me right now.
Anyway thanks for the explanations!!

If you re read what I said TK, You would see that I am right since your seat was one that didt sell at the preumum price through live nations vip package(the dinner drinks and gifts with everything) it went back in the pool for ticket master or the box office directlly and thats how we got to see them before thanksgiving that year..we bought them two days before since they didnt sell at the premium package price, the people next to us paid that premium $$ and we paid face value..only other difference was time tickets were purchased. When we saw ERic Clapton...we were club members and there was a whole section of tickets that only were made availabe in that section to those people
Now another thing to keep in mind is if youare purchasing only one ticket sometimes you get lucky and score a good seat cause there is an odd one since most are sold in pairs. (thats always my issue since Its me and JAHH lol)
One time we wanted to see a group at the Keswick in glenside and when we called and actually spoke with a box office person...we got beter seats cause we agreeded to take one in front of the other instead of sitting next to each other. Then when we got there , the eople next to me had one of their party who got sick and they had already paid for the seat so JAhh got to sit in the same row with me after all anyway...lol
.

So I think its Luck of the draw and timing and how many you want .
If you dont care about going ..you wait till the end when it gets closer and take your chances if you are a gambling gal....if you really wanna go , you pay $$$$ and just bite the bullit
Me..I like what hh said carpidiem...with tbs getting sick and all of us aging...I would just wanna go cause the future isnt promised to anyone.
peace

TT, It's not that I don't care if I go or not, it's that I just cannot pay $1,000 for seats. I am already in debt & I just can't.
I wanted to go to the Vegas show, but I didn't have the extra money for the whole Vegas trip & I don't love to fly, but I did see them in Sept & Nov. so I was ok with not going.
You know once you sit in the front row, you don't want to sit anyplace else, so we'll see what happens & what venues they play!
Let them announce a tour, then I will be happy! Maybe I will get to meet you next time.... because I think in AC, you were at the Sat. show & I was at the Sun show so I didn't get to meet you!

TK, sorry to be so confusing. Yes, at the Revel, the front row VIP did not sell out. I guess $995 two nights in a row was too much $$. That is the price from VIP Nation, but the ticket says $225, and when they don't sell and go back to Ticketmaster, they go for face value, not the VIP price. Let's not forget, the VIP price includes a dinner, drinks, and a gift bag to help make up the difference in price. Haha.

However, the front row VIP in Vegas was $895 and was sold out within days. I don't know about the other 'resellers' that the band and/or FrontLine Management (or whatever name the management company goes by these days) has contracts with. People that pay the prices through Ticketmaster, VIP, or any reseller or other entity are typically big fans and are elated to be there. The other seats are held by the venue as comp tickets (in some cases there are comps for the artist and/or management company as well), and those all get put back into Ticketmaster if they elect not to give those seats away. The first night in AC, the seats beside us were comps, second row dead center, and I assume held back by Revel.

Yeah TK

When we go ...Its times two since its me andJAHH.
If it was me , I would do the 995 each time but my budget and marriage wont allow it...lol

I am blessed that JAHH made it happen for me three times in one year and we spent a lot of money that year.I had never seen them before..lol and he did it three times for me in one year a dream come true ...we joke lol that that was the year of the "eagles vacation".....(but hey I got a timothy b schmidt used by him guitar pic thrown right at me by tbs so it was aah like seeing the grand canyon or something cause it waas pretty special..)
I mean two shows were in one week one in philly and one in ac ..both are a short drive for both of us but we both felt like we didnt know if they would ever tour again....and I had waited a very very long time to see them...my whole life....I never had the resourses before to do it.
It is a tight budget dance to do it now when we do cause its always times two and I cant room with you gals cause I got him...lol
At the last show he was realizing that he pays the bills times two all the time cause we do it all together..lol..

If it was me. Id be on the couch or the floor with you gals...reminds me of me and my 4 copusins when we were kids....we 'd always push two beds together and all sleep together cause we always argued who slep in whose room last time so we always wound up together or take over my aunt and uncles king size bed..poor uncle would come home and find 5 little girls in his bed watcing tv and just shake his head and go down staris to sleep on the couch but I digress...
I find myself going between the "side of what the hell"....they or me could be dead tomorrow and being rational...trust me its a hard dance everytime we do it.
But I really have fun when we do things together...I mean he gave me GF at the sands for my bday last year..bling is nice but I would rather have that memory of a great show we have seen together and we have seen a lot of people...Steve winwood , Eric clapton, Chicago, earth wind and fire, Michael mcdonald, boz scaggs, hall and oates and the list goes on and on...Music is just a big part of the soundtrack of my /our life and our 31 years of marriage..
but again I digress.
Yep I couldnt do the vegas trip..Ihad health issues with blood clots last time I flew out there...too long a flight and too high altitude....Jahh has seen a lot for work in the travel dept...thats how are son learned the states..every place he went he brought home the magnet of the state and my sonknew them so well...but I digress again.

I really wanted to do both shows but it would have been too expensive for us tickets and hotel..I mean they were asking over 400.oo for the room at the shore not hawaii on the beach..lol
Yep once you have good seats you cant go back ...I agree again...
imagin that...lol
Boy its tough being an eagles fan..an a die hard one at that...

Well, I guess it wasn't meant to be for me to go to Vegas because I did end up getting sick, so it would have not worked out too well for me if I did have tickets for Vegas.....Still recovering from that flu, so best I didn't go.

Anyway, if the guys tour this year, I know I will be going, so I hope to meet up with you guys again sometime this year!

I thought of that after I bought the non-transferable ticket! When I got a cold over Thanksgiving, all I could think was, what if I got a cold after Christmas? I can't imagine sitting in the front and coughing through the whole thing without annoying a lot of people. Fortunately, I found that Zicam really does work if you start taking it immediately. My cold at Thanksgiving was about four-days long while those around me had theirs for over a week. Something to think about for when they schedule concerts during cold and flu season!

Yes, buying tickets in advance & making the travel plans for non refundable tickets is a little stressful.,,,But put it this way, if I had tickets to that, I would have gone, sick or not. Funny thing is that I almost never get sick & I haven't had the flu in over 10 years, which is why I never get a flu shot....well this year I got it. I hear there is a lot of it going around now!

HD, I wanted to take photos, but security was pretty adamant that those in the first few rows weren't allowed to take any, so I didn't even get my camera out.

I understand. I never get good photos at shows. It's just the photos of Tim at the start of the thread were so good I was hoping for more.
