Wooot! I'm waiting to hear it also!

It's a great album (imo). It's almost up there with Number of the Beast and Powerslave.

Right now, I'm listening to Horror Movie by Skyhooks. It's the only song of theirs that I'm familiar with. (One day I'll change that)

You're kidding. How did you even hear of them? I assume you know they are Australian?

Their first two albums, Living In The 70s & Ego Is Not A Dirty Word, are excellent as is a compilation called The Latest & The Greatest.

A few months ago, an online friend whose music knowledge is huge asked me if I had ever heard of them. Obviously, I said no. He then sent me a youtube link to Horror Movie and explained that they were a 70s Australian glam rock band. He thought that I would like the song, and he was right. I've been meaning to listen to more than just Horror Movie, but I'm very far behind on my "new" music listening. I'll listen to those 2 albums out soon.

I'm sure that that was a very pleasant experience GA.

Right now, I'm enjoying my kind of "therapy", which is being home by myself, on the computer, and the earphones in my ears. I'm currently shuffle playing my loved tracks playlist on Spotify. The song on now is Whipping Post by The Allman Brothers Band.

I'm listening to a band that was on a float in one of the Christmas parades, named Unbreakable Bloodline. They're a local rap rock group. Picture rapping over rock music. That's what they sound like. I liked their version of Rudolph, so I decided to look them up. From what I've heard so far (their new ep, Anti Gravity), I like them.

ETA: Here's a song in case anyone is interested.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by the Carpenters. My oldies station plays a Christmas song every few songs this time of year. It's nice, really. You don't get constant Christmas songs and get tired of them.

How is it? Do they have Mutt Lange back as a producer? I remember when Lange divorced Shania Twain, some people speculated that Def Leppard would be rejoicing. I guess Mutt had been working with his wife exclusively when they were married.

For some reason, I'm on a Latin music tangent today. Specifically, Latin music that I loved in 1999. WTF? Gotta shake it off with some Doors music in honor of Jim's birthday.

I'd give it between 3.5-4.0 stars. Not their greatest, but overall pretty good. Highlights for me are We Belong, Blind Faith(love the band with that name as well), and Broke 'N' Brokenhearted. The producers are a man named Ronan McHugh and the band themselves.

I'm now playing Wings Greatest because it's one of 2 records I bought from an online friend from that came in the mail today. (the other is The Allman Brothers Band's debut). I'll probably play the Doors greatest hits honor of Jim next, or Stevie Nicks' 24 Carat Gold.(I bought it used at FYE pretty cheap a few days ago, and have yet to listen to it).

I'm listening to a record that I got for free. A mutual posted on Facebook that the guy was giving away 20 copies of his album, Songs From My Parents Basement, which was limited to 500 copies. I have #330. It's definitely different from what I usually listen to. It's like dark and acoustic indie type music. Not bad, though.

My favorite "oldies" (60s and 70s) station recently switched to an 80s-predominant format, so I need to find something else. The 80s were my teenage and early 20s years, and I don't need those horrible memories brought back, thank you!

Most of the songs I'm not familiar with, except for ones like Ain't Too Proud to Beg, Papa Was a Rolling Stone, or My Girl, so I don't have any expectations of what the songs should sound like. "New Kid In Town"......sure makes me miss Glenn when listening to it. I don't care what internal problems went on in that band, these guys made really great music and had such tight harmonies. I'm glad that this is one of the songs that was on the "Farewell I - From Melbourne, Australia." That's one of my favorite tracks.

One thing that I wish they would release officially in it's complete form is the concert at the Largo Center in Largo, MD in 1977. The concert is on their "HOTE" DVD set but.....it's there in truncated (shortened) form. :(

Have always loved the Eagles (since the 70's) but never really got around to listening to all of Glenn Frey's solo records until today - beginning with one of Glenn's personal all time favorites:

True Love

The guy had soul - no doubt about it. :inlove:

FYI - if I'm not mistaken the video features Glenn's soon-to-be-wife Cindy Millican in a couple of short segments e.g 2:28-2:31

Let me know if that's not right - sure looks like her to me.

No, Cindy isn't in the True Love video, but she is in 2 of Glenn's video.

In Livin' Right, she's the dancer wearing purple. (This video is how they met)
https://youtu.be/o6-x6CQrLqY

In River of Dreams, she's his wife "Linda".

Regarding Cindy - I have read she was a dancer/choreographer featured in a couple of Glenn's videos but until today hadn't thought to look for her - whoever this look alike girl is in True Love - she sure had me fooled

Off to check out the videos you so kindly clarified.

Loved Field of Dreams!! Very poignant - Glenn was certainly the man of Cindy's dreams and she the love of his life.

Regarding the other video True Love - apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that's Cindy in the video others have left comments on different versions of the video on You Tube claiming it's her leaving me to wonder if she's got an identical twin sister or perhaps it's really her:confused:

Livin' Right was hilarious shows his acting ability and talent for comedy very well.

In any case all three videos serve to remind the world just how unique Glenn Frey was and why he is and forever will be deeply missed.

Thanks again for the links!

The lady in the True Love video has blonde hair. Cindy doesn't have blonde hair. I don't know who the lady is, but I'm glad that you like the videos. Indeed, he is very missed.

There is another lady in the video who has dark brown hair and is dancing. She is seen a couple of times but if you blink you'd miss her because they are short camera shots. Personally I am inclined to believe it is Cindy - the resemblance is just too close for it not to be unless like I said earlier she has a twin sister somewhere.

None, actually. I just live in an area with several cities less than 100 miles away,(Albany, Blakely, and Columbus, Ga Tallahassee, FL, Dothan AL, etc) so I'm able to get many stations in. There's 6 stations that I flip back and forth between.

Two out of the six are classic rock stations (Blakely and Tallahassee). One plays pop music from late 50s to early 80s, so it's a combo of rock, soul, folk, and disco(Moultrie, GA). Another is called Gen X radio because they play mostly songs from the generation x era, mid 70s- mid 90s(Dothan).

The last 2 are just rock stations. The Albany one (my favorite of the 6) plays mix of everything from the Beatles to the Foo Fighters, about 90% pre 2000 songs, but enough newer songs to make for wide variety of songs. The Columbus one plays about a 50/50 mix because of the age of their listening audience. Fort Benning is just south of Columbus, and the University of Auburn is about 40 miles northwest of Columbus.

The Shelters - Rebel Heart (Produced by Tom Petty and it sounds like something from the late 60s/early 70s.)

True Colors - Justin Timberlake & Anna Kendrick (Cover of Cyndi Lauper's song for their new movie. It's a live acoustic performance and they sound great together. I also really like Justin's new solo song too.)

Figuring it Out - SWMRS (Pronounced Swimmers and the drummer is the son of Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, which still freaks me out they have kids that old as I still remember when Green Day came out. Very similar punk rock style.)

Mayday - Cam (She's amazing and I just love this song. On my playlist for my fifth book I'm currently writing.)

Do you really think it would work with a man singing it? Not sure here. What makes the song so effectively sad is that the woman who's singing (the character, if you will) wants true love but men only use her for sex. I'm afraid it would have an unintentional comic effect if a man sang those lyrics, claiming women were only after him for his body :)

Don H. could re-work the lyrics to express the boredom and disillusionment of a playboy. JD Souther could teach a master's course on the subject, no doubt.
