It's not mentioned in the article they referenced (that I saw), but the Arthritis Foundation - Greater Los Angeles Office tweeted a little while ago that Glenn will be one of the participants in the walk this Saturday.

YAY Glenn:yay::yay::yay:

I'm sure lots of us would volunteer to be at the finish to put a towel around his neck! ;)

Good point. I wonder how many last minute participants they're getting? ;-)

That is totally something us Borderers would do (and then regret it during the entire walk!) Reminds me of the time I joined a lunchtime volleyball club because I fancied the instructor... I had NO interest in volleyball at all, and was horrendous at it. Looking flustered, sweaty and out of your depth is not the way to impress someone you like. ;) The worst part was, I dragged my eternally loyal best friend along, and she was even worse at volleyball than me. Every ball she hit went sailing behind her, over her head!

Oh, the memories...

HaHa, this is something I can relate to, even if not in volleyball. I was seriously addicted to volleyball for a long time. There's really no other way to word it. I played four nights a week minimum and tournaments on weekends. My knees decided I had to quit. My orthopedic surgeon, without me telling him why my knees hurt took one look at the x-rays and said, "You play volleyball, don't you?" Sometimes I dream at night about playing again... I could have given you pointers, Troub, and you wouldn't have been so out of your depth! Well, if you didn't live so far away...

I'm glad Glenn is doing this. RA isn't the worst thing to be diagnosed with, but it's still far worse than OA (which is why I had to quit playing volleyball) and a lot of other things. Too many people overlook it altogether or don't consider it to be something that needs to be cured. They've made great strides in managing it, but the meds have side-effects, and quite a few insurance companies won't pay for the meds anyway.

Apparently Glenn is getting an award! Below is a quote from "The Flutterbies" site:http://theflutterbies.com/tag/los-angeles-arthritis-walk-2012/

LET’S MOVE TOGETHER AT THE LOS ANGELES ARTHRITIS WALK!

"Sing and dance with us for a cure at the Los Angeles Arthritis Walk, Saturday, May 19th, 7:30am to 11:30am on the Santa Monica Pier, Lot 1 North. We know it’s early morning on a Saturday – but come enjoy the beautiful beach weather and meet The Eagles’ Glenn Frey, as he gets an award from Flutterby Maureen and the Arthritis Foundation for his tireless efforts to find a cure (Maureen will sing “Desparado”). We are donating our talents as part of Let’s Move Together, a nationwide movement that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability. Sign up to walk at 7AM. More info here: http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1001905
Here are the details:
SATURDAY MAY 19, 2012 – ARTHRITIS WALK LOS ANGELES"

Glenn is listed @ 7:30AM on the schedule. Another site I visited said he was to perform.

LOL Sounds familiar. I joined the Jazz band in college because of the long haired, blue eyed guitar player .

But anyway, hooray for Glenn! :yay:

Bless. :partytime:

The one where he's shaking the woman's hand makes me remember February when I stuck my hand out & can't really remember if he took it or not because it was overshadowed by what happened next.

(Entire Border membership chorus: 'yeah, OK, OK').

You know, if he does this again next year I might just raise the $1000. If it guarantees me a VIP meeting!

Killer????

It didn't show up on any Google alerts this year, either. If I hadn't seen the tweet, I wouldn't have known. I had to search Google for the pictures. I've noticed that you can find stuff on searches that don't come up in alerts (or a day or two before the alert).

Sorry for the delay in these! Found these on the same FB page (Los Angeles Arthritis Walk) as the others, but did not have an internet connection most of the day except Kindle and phone. However, these are worth the wait!
