I have some so-so pictures, I was WAY over on Bernie's/Tim's side, so dont expect much LOL I couldn't get any service from there so I had to wait until I got back to my hotel!

The setlist was exactly like Louisville so no surprises.

Ok I took like 20 pictures and I dont want to add them all seperately so i'm trying to figure out how to do all at once so this might take a while LOL

Edit; ok i've wasted enough time trying to figure this out and it isn't working and now i'm just pissed, my pictures sucked anyway LOL I hope someone else posts some!

Hi guys! Just got back and all I have to say is WOW. Absolutely amazing. Best concert I've ever been to, hands down. It was hot, and I was sweaty, and I screamed so hard that I got a headache, and my throat's sore, but I don't even care because I just saw the freakin' Eagles. And surprisingly - not really any drunk people in our immediate section. Very nice!

I'll write up a review tomorrow, because I'm exhausted and a good night's sleep sounds awesome right now. But I'm on a huuuuuge Eagles high right now! :D

Sadly, I am too hot and tired to go into a lot of detail tonight, or post ny admittedly shaky pictures, but wanted to pop in and say it was a GREAT show!! Great sense of gratitude from them all, and a lot of playfulness from Joe and Glenn. So hot for them-Tim pulled his hair into a ponytail! And Don soaked thru his shirt--but they seemed to have fun. Bernie absolutely rocked...

I felt the second half of the show flowed better than the first--the pretaped video bits of Don and Glenn aren't needed--I'd rather they just told those stories on stage, live. And the order of the Desperado songs could be better--the Doolin Dalton/Desperado reprise confused people--unless you know the album and it's layout, people seemed to think they were simply doing an odd version of "Desperado!"

And for those keeping track, at intermission, Glenn changed into a grey tee with "Power to the Peaceable" on it. And he looked quite fetching!!

I hope I didn't forget all the awesome moments I wanted to remember...Joe said some funny things, like "I dont know where we're going, I don't know where we've been and I dont know where we're going" (something to that affect!)

He stole the show, I think...everyone was on their feet during his solo songs, which is something that shocked me, the crowd sat for the first half of the show. I hate when people sit at concerts so I stood up anytime anyone around me did.

One thing I noticed and thought was AWESOME was how the crowd cheered super loud for Don, Timothy and Joe! Like audibly louder than they did for Bernie or Glenn. Did any of you notice that too, who were there?

I thought people cheered really loud for Glenn, actually. Don always gets tons of applause, though. (If anyone was sitting near Section 14 and heard lots of screams of "I LOVE YOU DON HENLEY", well... that was me.) Timothy's cheering was actually louder than I've ever heard it, Joe's was really loud too. Bernie's was a little less intense though, I agree.

"That led to some minor surprises; the band's second album — one of its few commercial disappointments — got a fairly extensive run-out with "Doolin-Dalton" getting reworked alongside vintage clips of the guys playing cowboy on some '70s movie set."

Not a bad review I guess but I really wish people would do 5 minutes of homework sometimes... Even if he had just watched the documentary, they would have known the story behind that.

The song wasn't even "reworked", it was exactly the same as the album version! lol

That was, by the way, one of the highlights for me. Doolin' Dalton is in my top 5 and I wasn't even expecting to hear it until I saw the Louisville reviews and knew it was coming! I expected more people to know it though, that was in the beginning before people even started to act like they were at a concert. I was the only one singing along in my area at this point.

Oh, just remembered, nobody else mentioned this but there WAS an opening act. I didn't catch their name nor did I know any of the songs they played, a few of which were covers of other bands but I still didn't know them LOL I don't think many people were paying attention anyway, they were too busy finding their seats and getting beer! :hilarious:

I didnt check my phone when the Eagles started but I'm guessing it was around 8pm and it was over at 11 so they played about 2 hours!

Soda said the same thing about the pre taped video bits, that they should have just said that stuff live, but it seemed to me that they used it as an opportunity to make some onstage changes, because in Louisville the lights were out during those times.

Thanks for the great observations, ladies! So glad you all had a great night.

I am absolutely loving the laid back vibe that everyone says this concert has. It's exactly the kind of thing I've always wanted to see from the Eagles! Just for them to loosen up a bit more and visibly enjoy it. Looks like Glenn was listening re: the t-shirt with no overshirt! Nice! I'm not even going to comment on Don's shirt... :brickwall::lol:

What an amazing show! Because of the stage configuration, instead of 5th row seats we were in the 2nd row! But, like ALA, off to the Bernie/Timmy side. We realized before the show started that the people in front of us were also from West Bend, in fact, my husband went to school with one of them. We had a blast with them. We seemed to be in the "party" section - up and dancing thru most of the show, when the other sections close to the stage sat politely.

We had an aggressive "camera Nazi" about 10 feet from us. He was constantly scolding everyone around us. I kept cautioning my hubby to be careful, but that's not Steve. After a few minutes, he said "I'm taking pictures-let him bawl me out-I don't care". We only had our small camera with us, but Steve took over 100 pix.

A few things I recall:
-The name of the opening act was JD and the Straight Shooters
-Don to the crowd: "Can I get a "Ja der Hey?" Crowd: "Ja der hey!!"
Don: "Good, just checkin'!"
-Glenn at one point stopped talking and said "Oh, I almost swallowed a bug!"
-During Joe's talk box solo of "RMW", Bernie sat down on a speaker and just
enjoyed the performance with the rest of us.
-We got the "Detroit, where mother is half a word" joke, much to the delight
of my husband who thinks that's the funniest thing he ever heard.
-At the onset of "Doolin Dalton" there was some confusion with Timothy sort of putting his hands up like "I don't know". A roadie hurried over and handed something...Glenn said, "slight delay, we were missing a very important instrment"...Timmy's harmonica!
-During "LBG" the video board showed a cute video of Joe dressed as Godzilla. Glenn faced backwards much of the time and really seemed to enjoy the video-laughing and shaking his head.
-Thanks to the guy sitting next to my hubby...the "warm smell of colitas" was very much in the air last nite!

OK...I just can't be finished, I'm looking at the schedule and seeing where a road trip may be in order!

Here are a few shots from last nite:

I haven't frequented the message board (or Eagles news) in quite some time, so this bloke appeared on stage at the beginning and I started exclaiming, "Is that Bernie? It looks like Bernie. Doesn't that look exactly like Bernie?!" Blank stares from my friends. Turns out, eagle-eyes, right here! Awesome to see him play the break of "Take it Easy"!!!

I loved the slight suggestion of "Desperado" just before "Already Gone." One line stuck out - "Stole your dreams and paid you with regret."

The "Ya dere hey" quote from Don that Molly mentioned... OMG. Someone did their homework on the tour schedule, but ugh - so embarrassing.

What's awry with Randy? Guess I'll poke around the boards, as I'm certain you've all mentioned it somewhere. I hope he's alright.

Great show! Joe looked like a bloody RAWK STAR, too, between that shirt and the hair.

Well, here's my review!

My mom, sister and I got to Summerfest at around 6:00 after taking the freeway flyer that consisted of all middle aged people going to see the Eagles. I kid you not, my sister and I were the only ones our age there. We walked around the grounds for a bit, sipping water and eating grapes. Meanwhile, the line to get into the Marcus was freaky long. Like, imagine the longest line you've ever seen and double it. It was insane. While waiting for the gates to open, my sister and I waited in a slightly less insane line to get a tour t-shirt. Once we got into the amphitheatre, we were looking over this railing that overlooked the load in area - where all the crew was working and where all the trucks were for their gear and where a bunch of fancy cars were that I assumed were for the guys. I just commented on how awesome it would be to be part of their crew.

We found our seats and watched JD and the Straight Shot perform for a while. Most of this time was spent freaking out that I was about to see the Eagles! Although, soon before they started, a warm smell of colitas rose up through the air... literally. Someone was smoking weed a few sections away and everyone in our section was like, "Put it away!"

At about 8 o'clock, Don and Glenn came out to do Saturday Night. I was screaming and shaking and flailing so hard! I was so excited! It sounded beautiful.

When Bernie came out for Train Leaves Here, he got some great applause. I gotta say, he was lookin' good! I don't really know the song, but sitting there and enjoying his voice was nice.

Doolin Dalton was awesome, due to the fact that Tim played harmonica and I did not know he could play harmonica :p The DD/Desperado Reprise was also amazing because it was one of those songs I never thought I'd see the Eagles do live. My sister and I were sitting there harmonizing to it, haha. I think a lot of people thought it was going to be actual Desperado, so it got a good amount of applause.

I absolutely loved the video clips during Already Gone. So cute!

I'll admit, I was singing Best Of My Love straight back to Don. :inlove: Take It To The Limit was once again dedicated to Randy, and that song was amazing. Afterwards was intermission, and most people got up to go to the bathroom or to get more beer. My sister and I just stayed there and chilled out, or tried to since it was so hot. It did drizzle a little bit which felt nice. My exact words from my notes were: "Intermission. Hot as hell and sprinkly, but I don't care. I smell weed, ewwww."

Hearing the Wasted Time reprise was nice, even though I would've loved to hear the actual Wasted Time along with it. It's one of my top 5 favorite Eagles songs, so hearing it would've been spectatular... but Pretty Maids very easily made up for it. Hearing it brought be right back to being a wide-eyed seven-year-old watching my Hell Freezes Over VHS tape in the basement and crushing on Don. Such a wave of nostalgia! They sounded a bit like they did on HFO, too, so that made me very happy. :)

My mom freaked out when Tim performed ICTYW and LWKUA because Tim's basically her favorite Eagle. He sounded great! It did sound like he had to use a little more head voice at times (for the less musically inclined: head voice is when you sing and your voice resonates more in your head rather than your chest or throat - basically, using a higher, breathier voice).

New Kid In Town was amazing to hear live. Heartache Tonight had the newer acoustic intro and seemed like it might've been bumped down an octave or two so Glenn could sing it better. But everyone was up and dancing during it!

Those Shoes was extremely sexy. Before doing The Long Run, Don said, "Can I get a Ya Der Hey?" Aaaand then he started laughing, and he looked so adorable, and I basically died of happiness right there on the spot.

A couple songs later was the first encore and one of my favorites of all time... Hotel California! I got the whole thing on video. We all did our stupid little things during the song like pelvic thrusting right after "Mercedes Bends" and doing the triple-knock right after "running for the door". I felt so awesome during the end guitar solo. The whole crowd was on their feet for Take It Easy and Rocky Mountain Way, and most people just stood there and swayed for Desperado.

And then it was over. My sister refused to leave until the guys were offstage. We got out of our section, and as we were walking out, my mom decided to tell me that she saw my grandpa's neighbors at the concert, and apparently the neighbor's cousin works as a roadie for the Eagles. So I guess I gotta get in contact with this guy... :P

wow, this is a long post! All in all, it was absolutely spectacular. Best concert of my life so far, and I'm gonna see if my far fetched dreams of going to another show in Chicago might come true. Anyone who can, must go. It's something I'll never forget!

I was there last night in Milwaukee at SUMMERFEST. I knew the set list but it was still a surprise how wonderful the band sounds! I was especially surprised that they played so many JOE WALSH songs. I am seeing them again in September in Minneapolis, so will see if they change that set list up again as the tour goes on. I wish I could follow them around the country on their tour, but my teacher's pension isn't going to support tickets to all those concerts!

Very professional and 10th row was a great view!

Tori, thanks for the lovely review. Thrilled to hear you had such a good time.

I was going to make my shallow "doesn't Tim look hot" observations on the Louisville thread - first thing I noticed was the tight jeans & then how good the t-shirt looked on him - and he looked hot at this show too. Yum. :nahnah:

Just wanted to let y'all ll know I haven't forgotten to post my pics and review--at work today, so will do tonight!

Also had to drop by and say that my older sister has become OBSESSED with Timmy since last night show. She's utterly besotted by him. :hilarious: So charming. I've sent her links to the board here and TBSOnline--she'll be occupied for hours.;)

There is something about that man that makes him extremely "obsessable." If you want to get your sister really spooled up, direct her to some youtube videos of TBS singing with Poco in the early 70s...:inlove:

We seemed to be in the "party" section - up and dancing thru most of the show, when the other sections close to the stage sat politely.

I was trying to see if the people down there in front were standing but my eyesight is bad and it was far from me so it looked like everyone was sitting but apparently you guys weren't! :) I wish I was able to get those seats too, guess I was too slow on ticket release day!

-Glenn at one point stopped talking and said "Oh, I almost swallowed a bug!"

LMAO!! so THATS what was so funny! I knew I missed a joke!

-At the onset of "Doolin Dalton" there was some confusion with Timothy sort of putting his hands up like "I don't know". A roadie hurried over and handed something...Glenn said, "slight delay, we were missing a very important instrment"...Timmy's harmonica!

Ahhh...you cleared that up for me too, I was wondering what he meant by that!

None of your pictures are showing up for me, can anyone else see them?

Also, did you get my text message I sent? I thought since you didn't reply that your phone must have died or maybe it didn't send in time or something.

You got there about the same time as me! And yeah wasn't that line CRAZY?! I walked all the way to the front of it to make sure it WAS the line, before getting in it. I don't know why they couldn't have opened it a lot sooner...or was there another show there earlier in the day?

Although, soon before they started, a warm smell of colitas rose up through the air... literally. Someone was smoking weed a few sections away and everyone in our section was like, "Put it away!"

Damn, I was in the wrong section! :hilarious:

When Bernie came out for Train Leaves Here, he got some great applause. I gotta say, he was lookin' good! I don't really know the song, but sitting there and enjoying his voice was nice.

I was also enjoying his voice, I never liked that song much before but hearing it live did something to me. I wish he had sang more often! His voice is as good as the others'!

And then it was over. My sister refused to leave until the guys were offstage.

Same here!! lol I kept taking more pictures of them bowing and waving to the crowd, I NEVER leave concerts until I see them all leave the stage!

We got out of our section, and as we were walking out, my mom decided to tell me that she saw my grandpa's neighbors at the concert, and apparently the neighbor's cousin works as a roadie for the Eagles. So I guess I gotta get in contact with this guy... :P

Ooooh, yes you do!! Lucky, you got a connection now!

Awww you're so lucky, i'd be at the Mpls show too (since I live somewhat closeby), but i'll be back in North Dakota at my job. I'd love to follow them around too, I get 2 weeks off every other month but I'd spend all my savings if I did that! lol

Hola--the night has gotten away from me and I don't want to rush in posting my thoughts/recollections, so I'll do that tom. nite. But I will post my photos--keep in mind my best vantage point was the screens--it wasn't that I was ludicrously far away from the stage (in the yellow-covered section), but very much at an angle from it, so all I would have gotten was wee profiles with my iPhone!

I think a guy yelled out something to the band and they kind of blew it off. Maybe someone that was there can clarify. Probably was a a song request....

In the beginning there was really bad reverb; it made things all muddled so it was hard to hear briefly. It almost sounded like a motor, and Lake Michigan is right behind the Marcus, so Glenn made the joke about it being a "big boat" going through...

The guy just made comment it was hard to hear music over reverb, I believe.

Hi Guys
I loved the concert. It was so cool seeing them again and with Bernie to boot. It was great. They sounded awesome and I was so happy to see TBS singing again :) I loved the new background videos they were so fun. I loved Joe as supermen and Godzilla instead of destroying hotels he is taking out cities lol. My dream finally came through and I got to hear Doolin Daltons and the Reprise. I was on cloud nine. I never thought it would happen; my mom and friend had to hold me in my seat, I wanted to float away. .. It was cool hearing them start with Saturday night with only Glenn and Don. I liked how they slowly added band members but didn't get why they brought TBS on before Joe. Bid thank you to those who told me about the shuttles they worked great. My only complaint is I hated the venue. It was a joke trying to get seat because my door in was in front of the bathroom so I got in literally 5 minutes before the band started. If I had missed the start, I might have lost my mind. All in All though the concert was so great that I will forget the venue and focus on how great the guys were.

Finally, my thoughts...,what to add to what others have already said so well...?

I have to say, it exceeded my expectations, in quality, in charisma, in everything, performance-wise. I had a coworker who tried to bring me down by saying the last time he was them in concert they just "phoned it in" and no one moved or interacted and it was like watching "strangers in individual bubbles" on stage, so I had tempered my expectations on what to expect in their stage presence--I mean, as long as they sound great, what do I care if they're (to use Don's phrase in the doc), "loitering on stage?" ;) But I really found them to be cohesive, intimate group on stage, and I felt they came off very much as a unit, as a united band. (And they moved!) Joe and Glenn, especially, seem to have a special bond--they exchanged a lot of cute smiles and playful shrugs and laughs between songs, especially after "Heartache Tonight" and "Life's Been Good"--they seemed to be having a good time together. And I loved seeing Tim and Glenn share the mike at times to do harmonies. They were both so passionate and into it all--lovely to see after all these years.

And I have to agree with others here--it was a very "pro-Timmy" crowd. I think die-hard Eagles fans keep track of things RE: the band, esp. in this age of the Internet and social media, and knew of his ailment and recovery this past year. So I sensed a lot of extra warmth when he was introduced and for his songs.

Also, I seemed to be sitting behind a one-man super fanclub for Bernie--anything Bernie did, this man stood, hoot and hollered for--it was cute! You could genuinely tell Bernie was jazzed to be there and his musical additions to the band's sound were easily felt--things just had an extra buzz and richness when he was on-stage. And after seeing the doc and hearing of the great beer-over-the-head incident 'tween Bernie and Glenn (and reading some comments over the years of their very different personalities), I was happy to see a certain bond between Glenn and Bernie on stage. In the bows, Glenn and Bernie were side-by-side, and after the rest of the group, broke, they kept their arms around each other and shared a small conversation, a laugh and a mutual smile. It must be so trippy to be back together after 38 years apart, but there seems (at least now, and on-stage) to be a genuine rediscovery and reunion going on that is pleasantly surprising them all.

Don's voice astounded me--strong from start to finish, and boy, did he nail the high parts when needed--especially in "Witchy Woman." He just knows his phrasing and what to sing, and how, and when--ultimate vocal control, just like the way you recall from the recordings. I think his voice has stayed pretty much similar to it's quality in their "heyday," while Glenn's has deepened a bit over the years. But the way they've reworked the songs really suits his voice now, and still preserves the integrity of the songs. When you think about it, he thad the most solo vocal songs added back into the mix, with pretty new arrangements, and he really tackled them well, IMHO. And I do think his work on "After Hours" has given him extra richness in his tone and technique. He was really belting things out loud and strong and clear on "Already Gone" and "NKIT" --very impressive. And he's such a clown on stage--perhaps even more than Joe. I felt bad for him that he swallowed a bug, but it didn't seem to inhibit his great intros for the band--surprised he had a voice left after those enthusiastic introductions!

Joe was Joe, of course--a guitar god, and I have to add, my favorite dresser of the night--that black buttondown with the flowers was damn nice on him!! He does indeed kick things up a notch on stage, and just brings a looseness to the proceedings that is needed. He didn't talk a lot to the audience this night, but he still created quite a bond with us through his virtuosity. His exuberance and talent just....pours right off stage and into your soul--and could you tell he loved getting out those vocoders/voiceboxes again! "Those Shoes" just oozed sensuality and danger. Great performance for a humid night...

So, what can I say, it was a great evening. I sensed a lot of fun and gratitude on the band's part to the audience, and I hope they felt it back from us, too. (And I hope Glenn could sense how happy I was that he broke out the black tee and nice-fitting jeans for the first half--well-played for the weather and the rocking-out, Mr. Frey, well-played.) ;)

I love Glenn in T shirts :fainting::) TBS in plaid was good too. :partytime: They all looked awesome though I spent a good part of the second half trying to read Glenn's shirt LOL :hilarious::hilarious: I also snorted my water when poor Glenn said he swallowed the bug. At my last concert it was Don who did that as you can tell from my favorite quote from my last concert listed in my signature lol Though with a new concert maybe it's time to change it to a new quote

"Those Shoes" just oozed sensuality and danger. Great performance for a humid night...

I totally agree! That song "broke" me, so to speak... the sheer sexiness reduced me to incoherent muttering! Easily one of my favorite performances from the night.

I have been loving these videos.

I do have one snarky thing to say so please forgive me.

ON OOTN EVERONE knows that Timothy b has a kick ass bass solo at the beginning of the song. So WHY wasn't the camera on him duirung those sexy slides? I LOVE HIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

My dream finally came through and I got to hear Doolin Daltons and the Reprise. I was on cloud nine. I never thought it would happen; my mom and friend had to hold me in my seat, I wanted to float away. ..

I was the same way!! Nobody around me was singing along or standing so I felt like I had to contain myself but I was singing so loud with a huge smile on my face during that song!

I liked how they slowly added band members but didn't get why they brought TBS on before Joe.

I wondered about this too, then I stood there second guessing myself going 'wait, WAS Timothy in the band first!? Nooo, they're doing this wrong!' LOL

Bid thank you to those who told me about the shuttles they worked great.

i agree, I was so worried and nervous about it but it worked out perfectly, I didn't even have to wait for the bus, both times when I was ready, it was there waiting and left within a few minutes of getting on!

Necessity, probably. You can get by without Joe for the acoustic stuff, but somebody still has to play the bass.

Milwaukee is a great put to see concerts, but make sure you study the place your preferred band will play in earlier than you make the tour and buy the ticket. Milwaukee concerts that get place at the Pabst Theater Milwaukee or the bank Milwaukee Theater always end up life form great Milwaukee shows.

Ok--I've been trying to watch as many of these videos as I can the last several days, including these really wonderful ones that Austin posted overnight. I think I've finally seen them all. First and foremost---THANK YOU AUSTIN!!!! You have gone above and beyond to keep us happy here. You are the man!!! Now get some sleep please!!

I've been taking notes of some of my observations while watching these. For what they're worth, here's my random thoughts.

--The Randy dedication in TITTL was a wonderful touch and I believe very heartfelt.

--I can't get enough of watching the videos for Those Shoes. I just didn't think they'd do it and I'm beyond happy that it's in the setlist.

--Does anyone else find themselves waving people to get out of the way of the camera's view in these videos? :hilarious:

--Joe's hair in Milwaukee cracks me up. The humidity was making it so wavy. And is it my imagination or is he just going backward and getting more youthful? I'll have what he's having!

--Will's hair seems so much shorter than I'm use to. And Scott's also. I miss Scott's hair from a decade ago. :p

--Timothy's sounding absolutely perfect. And during his portion to talk, he just seems so genuine when thanking the "wall to wall" crowd.

--PMAIAR is AWESOME!!!! So glad to see it here also.

--How cute is Timothy as he really gets into the song at 2:10 of OOTN? Love it. Went back to it a half dozen times when watching the last OOTN video Austin posted.

--The video of the band intros had me yelling at Glenn to open his eyes. LOL And his joke about the witness protection had me cracking up again. What can I say, I still laugh at all the jokes, even the old ones.

--Timothy calling Glenn the "illustrious master of ceremonies"... Love it!!

--Saturday Night... :smitten: It gave me chills and then when Bernie came out for Train, I about cried. Did we ever think we'd actually see this happening? I'm still in disbelief. It's still killing me to know I won't be seeing them but I'm still holding strong.

--This last point, I would like everyone else's opinions on also. Maybe it's just me? Maybe it's the bad quality video? And I don't wish to upset ANYONE with this observation and wasn't even going to mention it but I really want to know what everyone else thinks. I didn't notice it in the Louisville video of NKIT and am anxious to see if we get a video of it from Cleveland last night. BUT NKIT for Milwaukee just sounded, for lack of a better word, off a bit? Glenn seemed to struggle in spots. I first noticed it in the line "so don't let them down" when he sang the word "down". Anyone who was there, did he seem to struggle? I'm hoping it was just the bad videos and he's not struggling. But all I could think about was maybe he knew what he was thinking (of course he did-he knows his own voice!) and that's why he really didn't want to do it in concert anymore.

That's my 2 cents. Hopefully I didn't bore any of you to much. Bear with me during this tour because I'm living vicariously through the rest of you and I won't be able to get enough info. :p

Thanks so much Austin for truly awesome "man on the scene" coverage. I was suppose to be going to the Cleveland show but our proposed relocation didn't happen. I hadn't said anything yet either, but I thought Glenn really seemed to struggle with a couple songs in Louisville. I haven't had time to listen here yet. I chalked it up to first show jitters or sound in the venue or the recording. We've heard After Hours. We know he's way better!

I will put you out of your misery here & say that watching the video, yes, I noticed the word 'down' was off & there were a couple of other notes that were off. But he has not sung the song for years. It will take him some time for him to regain the sheer perfection of the thing. In any case, Joe gave him a little smile after he finished. Was that 'great performance' or 'well done getting through that'? I don't know; all I know is, I will take it.

I think part of it was the quality of the video and the person in the crowd singing on top of Glenn because it didn't sound that noticeable when I was there at the concert; he might have had to reach for notes but that was really all. Though with as excited I was with the new set list, I probably was to happy to care:grooving: It was the first time in my 3 concert I got to hear NKIT. :iloveyou:

I have never heard of getting up during a concert! In these videos, I can't believe how many people are just walkin' around during the songs! They need to run the venue like for hockey or tennis - the ushers don't let you go to your seat until there is a break in play, which I guess would be between songs. I would be so pissed if I were in the band and saw people coming and going. Maybe its taking place farther back in the crowd, and the crowd is so big that they don't notice. I'm surprised Don hasn't yelled at these people!!

He really seems to enjoy playing with Bernie! How strange it must be for TBS to have someone playing guitar and singing to his right on stage!! I like it because it seems like he is standing a little closer to Glenn than he usually does, and it makes them more cohesive and interactive. In older videos of concerts, sometimes it looks like Timothy is doing his own thing, wandering off way to his side in the shadows, looking at Jean backstage!!

This is something I keep forgetting to mention. In Louisville, when we started hearing background music on SN, Hubby and I looked at each other and said, "Where is that coming from?" I kept thinking the lights were going to come up and the backup band would be there, but that didn't happen.

This bothered Hubby more than it did me. He said they lose credibility when they do that kind of thing. He said if they play recorded music to the song, how do we know they're not lipsyncing. Of course, we know they weren't, but he was trying to make his point.

Was anyone else bothered by the background instrumentation on SN?

I didn't notice that, but I was shocked at how many backup musicians they had, did I count 3 keyboardists?! Why would you even need more than one? What song has 3 different lines of keyboard?! lol And I always wondered this about the guitars too, a few times Don, Glenn, Joe and Steuart were all out there playing at the same time, but I've never heard any song EVER by ANY musician that had 4 different guitar parts going at once. They didn't have all those backup musicians when they played live in the 70's, did they?

It was only night two of the tour, so I wasn't too shocked or disappointed by any warbles or off-notes. To me, they all had them a bit during their solos, and I expect that sort of thing at a live show--let's you know it's not being synced. And truly, it was so damn hot in the audience, to say nothing of what it must have been like on the stage, under those lights...that humidty has to fuck with the voice and breathing a bit. As well as all the bug swallowing. ;)

...that said, Glenn's voice has changed quite a bit since the 70s. The tones he hit then he can't hit anymore--it's hard for a man to maintain a tenor like that over the years. Aging has probably affected it; on-and-off-smoking, medications. And I'm sure the sinus issues/surgeries he's had over the years due to aftereffects of drug use have affected the timber and tone of his voice, too. But I thought the new arrangements and powered pitches suited him and the songs well. I think he's had the most songs added back into the setlist that feature him on solo/co-lead vocal, so it has to be a bit more vocal pressure on him and his voice. As he settles into them, it will all iron out.

(I felt sorta bad when he said after his warm reception during band intros that he's been feeling "fragile" lately and he appreciated the love--is this his usual schtick, or is the poor man truly feeling down and out? C'mon, over, Glenn, I'll cheer you up.)

Not at all to say he was the "weak link" in the show that night--in fact, I thought he picked up steam, vocally, the second half (he ruled "Heartache Tonight) , while poor, sweaty Don seemed a bit beat by the time HC and Desperado came along (the poor man needed to take off that 3/4 sleeve, non-breathable fabric-looking work shirt--he was soaked by show's end!) And you could really hear him anchoring the harmonies in BOML and HC, among others.

As for the people sitting most the show--I've been to shows at the Marcus where people have stood the entire time, and others where people choose to sit and relax. You can never tell. Toward the end my section was standing a bit more, which was nice. There was an uber-wacky woman by herself in front of me who stood the whole show and flailed about, which pissed off the bank of people sitting in wheelchairs behind her seat, who said she was obstructing their view of the stage. So they kept yelling at her to sit down once in awhile, then an usher would come over and talk to her, and she'd pitch a fit and keep be-bopping about everywhere. I wasn't in their line of sight to obstruct their view, but it made me paranoid to strand too much! Finally at the end everyone was standing so I felt I had nothing to lose by getting and getting down to the music!

No, this is not his usual schtick, although it reminds me of the line in Brisbane when he said the audience could help out 'an old soldier who's losing his voice'.

And truly, it was so damn hot in the audience, to say nothing of what it must have been like on the stage, under those lights...that humidty has to fuck with the voice and breathing a bit. As well as all the bug swallowing.

...that said, Glenn's voice has changed quite a bit since the 70s.

Well I asked for opinions. :hilarious: I can see you really thought it out.

Any more thoughts on this? I guess it wasn't Bernie then?

I have been loving these videos.

I do have one snarky thing to say so please forgive me.

ON OOTN EVERONE knows that Timothy b has a kick ass bass solo at the beginning of the song. So WHY wasn't the camera on him duirung those sexy slides? I LOVE HIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Because these are not professional videos. The person filming doesn't know this. We are lucky to get all these videos because they were not supposed to be filming during the show, so please just be thankful for whatever we are getting. There are always going to be people walking through the videos on YouTube, so please just keep in mind who is filming & that this is a huge stadium.

oh, I am very thankful. However, diehard Eagles fans know that OOTN starts with that very sexy bass.

Maybe I am just biased :nahnah:

I do LOVE these videos:love:

I'm getting my concerts mixed up! Either in Louisville or a band intro video I saw, Glenn motions with his hands to the audience that he'd like more applause. After he got it he said he was feeling fragile. It was a joke.

Golly, I wasn't trying to imply it was a "cry for help" or dire declaration on his part--I assumed he was tying to get the audience on side. ;). I was justvcurious if it was a line he trotted out on a regular basis as concert patter.

And God knows it was warm enough that he could have been feeling as fragile as wet tissue paper--I read RRHOF a couple members of an alt. band performing Sunday were hospitalized for heat stroke/exhaustion after their Sun. Night shows, so kudos for Glenn and Co. for soldiering on!

Okay, so is it just me, or is anyone else having major Post Eagles Withdrawal? It's been almost a week and I'm finding myself looking at Chicago tickets on StubHub. I'm feelin' it bad, guys... :???:

OH.MY.GOD. You have peered into my sister and my mind! We keep saying how we wish we could rewind and go back to that night, just to linger on favorite moments, catch ones we missed, and just wallow on the atmosphere again. Chicago would be the easiest to go to-jut take the Amtrak and stat overnight one night....can our bank accounts take it, though? --probably not. ;)

I keep hoping maybe they'll hit Milwaukke again at the Bradley Center---but that's a longshot, and even if true, it wouldn't be for 2+ years.... Gotta get a fix sooner than that...

I keep hoping they'll play the Resch Center in Green Bay because that's where I first saw them for Farewell 1, and they also played there for Long Road... so why not this tour? Green Bay is much more doable for me than Chicago, which I'm doing serious research on right now. I keep telling my family that I miss them, and how ridiculous is it to miss a band that doesn't even know you exist? :p

I never thought about Green Bay...? We need to send vibes out to the universe to make them want to return to our neck of the woods.

(And I can't tell you how many texts I've sent to my sister and cousins saying "I miss the Eagles...." or "Remember when...?" We're trapped in a fog of Eagles euphoria.

Green Bay was pretty convenient. Only about three hours away and I handled the late hours, long drive and loudness of the concert pretty well as a seven-ish year old kid. Although the Bradley Center would be ideal too. It's all a matter of getting really good seats for me!

I could see them hitting Green Bay before coming back to Milwaukee. The Bradley Center sucks (my opinion) and I recall them saying how much they enjoy
the Green Bay area. Don even mentioned how they used to go to Sister Bay and/or Egg Harbor. ??? Seriously, there's like a bait shop, an antique store, a church and 6 taverns there and that's about it. :hilarious:

Ooh, I'd like to read that! You don't mean they performed there, do you? Just hung out, right? We've vacationed in Door County, WI twice several years ago, and enjoyed the laid back vibe.

I'd hit Chicago if I wasn't going to be at work. The only dates when i'm home are too far away to drive to and I can't afford a major vacation right now.

Molly did you get my message? I haven't seen you on here since the day of the concert!
