I just got messaged by Helena. She says that the concert was "awesome" though "Glenn seemed a little sad." She said she saw his youngest son Otis a lot and that "he was actually standing right next to me for a while." She called him a "cutie."

She says the set list is the same and she will tell us more when she gets home.

Can't wait!

I don't blame Glenn  seeming a little sad. This must be a very emotional time for him and very upsetting too. He's wonderful to have kept the shows going. Great that Otis is there to support him. I really feel for him at the moment.

FBF I'm glad it was so awesome for you.

Looking forward to hearing everything from those who were there.

A so-so review:

http://htl.li/2A1iV9

The author spent most of the concert tweeting the same things that are in the article, so I'm not sure how much attention he actually paid to the concert. There were a LOT of tweets last night complaining about the humidity and lack of air conditioning. There were also a lot of tweets saying it was the best concert ever.

The STRIB always gives crappy reviews. It's like they don't want anyone to believe you can ENJOY something anymore without pointing out the negatives over and over (which last night the only one really was the lack of AC)

I'll post my full review with pics and everything tonight once I get them off mine and moms phone.

Still buzzing. A great show. Worth every damn penny we paid

"the bestselling American band of all time."

I wonder how that happened if everyone felt like this writer did?

Can't wait for your review FBF, one from a true fan!

I'm anxiously awaiting the reviews too! So glad GH & FBF had a wonderful time, as I was sure they would.

I'm not surprised Glenn seemed sad either. The fact of his mom's passing is probably starting to sink in. Glad to kknow that Otis was there. I hope that means that Cindy was there too.

Annnnnd...Here...We...GO!

The opening band was awful. No idea who they were, but they just filled the lace with sound. Some of the songs were cool, I guess they do music for movies and TV shows and stuff like that, but the lead singer kept talking like he was the smartest man in the room and he knew it all...Just..ugh.

Anyways, about 8:10 the lights dimmed and the cheering began. Don and Glen walked out and played the opening song, then joined by Bernie (Who being from Minneapolis got a HUGE applause) and sang Train Leaves Here. Tim joined in for PEF, and Joe came out for WW. Once the entire band was on stage...WOW. It was phenomenal. Seeing a true 5 piece Eagles band was something I never thought I'd get to experience and HOLY SHIT they rocked.

Every review I've read from the show has said that it looked like they were just "going through the motions" UM...were these people even at the SHOW? That is just the WRONG way to describe things. Glenn and Don were funny as hell, and Tim and Joe even got in on the action. It was an amazing night, and the second best concert I've ever seen. (Meat Loaf at Mystic Lake last year is my tops all time...but that's a story for a different time)

Highlights for me include Doolin/Dalton and the DD/D reprise. THE HARMONIES OH MY GOD. WERE AMAZING. ALL. NIGHT. LONG. I couldnt believe it. I caught myself with my mouth open more than once at how amazing they sounded together. Already Gone, Take It To The Limit, Hotel California, Life's been Good was AMAZING...had the WHOLE CROWD SHOUTING ALONG...Something Ill never forget...(Thank god I have video!)

The whole show just blew me away, and the first words out of my mothers mouth after the lights came up "This was so worth every penny". She hadn't seen them since 79 when she was 19 years old!!!!!!!

I'm still on a huge high. I probably will be for days, if not weeks to come. Pictures will come in a few moments!

Setlist was the same as another thread, so I nixed it:

Saturday Night
Train Leaves Here
Peaceful Easy Feeling
Witchy Woman
Doolin Dalton
Tequila Sunrise
Doolin Dalton / Desperado Reprise
Already Gone
Best of my love
Lyin' Eyes
One of these nights
Take it to the limit

Intermission

Wasted Time - reprise (canned, not live)
Pretty maids all in a row
I can't tell you why
New kid in town
Love will keep us alive
Heartache Tonight
Those shoes
In the city
Life's been good
The long run
Funk 49
Life in the fast lane

Encore #1
Hotel California

Encore #2

Just got home today from a truly, wonderful vacation...I must say people from the Mid West must be the friendliest people I have ever met...
Our hotel was situated just across the street from the Target Center...all day I could hear people talking about the Eagles...there was a radio station situated at the restaurant next door giving away some goodies...the city was a buzz of activites..
The doors of the center opened at 6:30 and it wasn't long before it was full..I had the "paperless" tickets on my VISA and I must say I would definatetly buy them that way again...no hassle whatsoever....

JD and his band were already playing when we got in...(I read in the paper the next day that this guy "Jim Bolan" is a business partner of Irving)...
We were sitting in the 17th row..not a bad spot...all nice people around us...but halfway through "Train leaves here this morning", 3 "drunk as skunks" couples took their seats right in front of us...One guy missed his seat and fell on the floor and one of the girls fell in my husband's lap...You have NO idea how badly I want to strangle people like that...but what can you do???

SO out comes Glenn and Don..Glenn in a nice blue shirt and I believe Don's was gray...
"Saturday night" was perfect, and it was Don, not Glenn, who interacted more with the audience....
Bernie came out to loud applause (he's from Minnesota), and again, the song was perfect...Bernie really sounded great.
Then came my favorite "Peaceful easy feeling"...Glenn told the story of how he got the tape from Jack in the mail, and said CD insteat of tape and people took to laughing...to which Glenn responded that this wasn't a joke..and that he'd tell us when to laugh....lol
Loved the new intro to Witchy Woman....was happy to hear "Doolin Dalton" live....and SO glad that "Tequila Sunrise" and "Already Gone" are back on the setlist....Of course, these delinquents in front of us all got up when they played "Already Gone", but to my surprise, sat back down.
Poor Don had some voice issues with "Best of my love" and shied away from the high notes, but still got through it...I must admit this was never one of my favorites anyway.
The crowd went wild for "Lying Eyes"...Glenn did NOT do the plaintiff joke...but when he introduced "Take it to the limit" he did mention that Randy's health was improving...good news indeed.. and I thought that Glenn did a particularly excellent job on this song....and Don did an excellent job as well on "One of these nights"....then there was the intermission....where our front neighbours left to get even more drunk...and they stood and staggered for the rest of the show.
Now I am only 5 ft tall so I told my husband that I was gonna go stand at the end of our row, which I did and had a pretty clear view for much of the 2nd part...and I must add that the security people were totally and over the top friendly to me...They made people standing in front of me sit down...One of the security guy actually said "I wish I could let you stand on your chair"..lol....
Joe absolutely steals the show in the 2nd set..."Pretty Maids all in a row" was beautifully done...and Timothy sounded great in "Love will keep us alive" and "I can't tell you why" in which Glenn played the piano :p..I had never heard "New kid in town" live, so that was aboslotely "chilling" for me..
Joe had everbody on their feet for all of his songs...he was amazing...Loved hearing "Those shoes" which was perfection..
The 2 encores were spectacular...nobody wanted them to go..though I must say that "Hotel California" was a little off...Don was having voice problems again...and whether the key wasn't quite right, the guitars sounded a little off too...though I'm sure nobody noticed..
It was a first Eagle concert for my husband...you should've seen the smile on his face....and we're so looking forward to seeing them again in November in Montreal..
As I mentioned to Nancy before, Glenn seemed a little sad...I guess I should elaborate and say he looked tired and he didn't speak a whole lot...He did an amazing job with the introductions, of course...and he did do the "Mother" joke about his hometown which was the only joke he did all night.
Ooops..I almost forgot....while we were sitting, waiting for the show to start, a kid with a small flashlight went by and I told my husband..."I'm sure that was Otis, Glenns' son"...sure enough, he comes back down the aisle, stops by me and looks around then chats with this middle aged woman, whom he obviously knew, and goes back behind the stage...then he's helping set up after JD is done, and I can see he's joking around with the rest of the crew...I know he's the boss' son, but they seemed to genuinely like him...they were all smiles....He looks a lot like Deacon, but has his Mother's colors...He seems like a very sweet young man...
I wish I could go to every show they do..."If I had a million dollars"...I would follow them around for sure...lol..

GH & FBF, glad you enjoyed the show, as I knew you would. So cool about seeing Otis. Saw him in 2010 in Aspen. Befire the show he wandered around the stage talking to the techies & then came out to the side of the front of the stage & played there for a bit. He was so adorable!

Can't wait for Montreal!
