Don't worry - all will be back to normal on April 2! If you truly can't stand it, just disable avatars for today in your user CP. Otherwise, enjoy the novelty of it! lol

It's not exactly an elaborate hoax, but fun nonetheless (at least for me). ;)

This reminds me of a question the Tim fans had recently about rotating avatars so they wouldn't know which one they would get. If you can do this for all board members could you do it for them & just make it Tim specific?

I wouldn't mind being able to rotate my own avatars but presumably I would have to give you access to them. The same obviously applies to the above question.

It took me several hours to code and implement this. What you are asking is possible, but HUGELY labor-intensive and complicated logistically. Without getting into too much detail, it's a lot more difficult for me to write code that only applies to specific users. That doesn't even count the time it takes to relocate and rename the images so that they fit the alphanumeric variable formula I used. It can be done, but only through a great deal of time and effort.

So, while I'm pleased you like the randomization, I'm afraid it's not feasible for me to do it for individuals.

However, if you'd like to make yourself an avatar that's an animated gif combination of several avatars, you can go to any free gif maker to do that and achieve a similar goal. That's what I did for Glenn's birthday.

I did try that once & I just wasn't that happy with the result. It just wasn't me (although I may try it again at some stage). That's why I rarely use the existing .gif avatars. I was just interested in how you did it.
