What to Wear for Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame?

So, as I said in another thread, I'm going to attend the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. I've got a seat in Section 6 (http://media.ticketmaster.com/tm/en-us/tmimages/venue/maps/ny1/53295s.gif) Row 16, which is kinda close to the stage, but not on the floor. Still, I thought I would dress up a bit. Not prom dress or anything, but just a little dressier than usual.

I've got it narrowed down to two dresses (sorry about the flash):

Note: If I wore the black dress, I would wear a strapless bra. I just didn't bother for this photo.

Now of course I will have my hair done and makeup on when I go to the show, lol.

Any thoughts? Or are neither of these good?

For sure the second one, Nancy! It is gorgeous and more night-timey, and is reminiscent of Stevie! The first one is really cute but more garden partyish, and doesn't have the same "gravitas" (?) appropriate to the event. I actually like the black bra strap showing, but I don't know what it looks like in back. [although the pic is missing something black, white and furry, haha] What an experience for you!

It definitely is Stevie-esque - people would be like "We know who you're here for" without realizing that I'm into Glenn too, and it was having both of them under one roof that got me there!

Both are lovely Soda and you could use either. I'm more in favour of the red one, think it's because it's a style I love to wear too. And lots of people will wear black!

As regards the flash, there should be a setting on your camera that will disable the flash if you don't want it to bounce off the mirror

From the pictures and seeing the audience, it looks like a black tie event. Some dress up in their suit and ties and some don't wear a tie.

I definitely don't think you will be overdressed. I think lots of people will be dressed up. You have a great seat, and the better dressed you are, the more chance of being able to mix and mingle with the VIPs!

I'm just going for comfort dressing, but I'll be back in the 100's and need to run for the subway afterwards :-)

I may see Glenn walking by beforehand from afar if he does the red carpet (no guarantee of that) and if I somehow get seen, I might get a smile and a wave if I'm lucky. I imagine that is the most I can hope for as a member of the hoi polloi. ;)
