Let me say first that for you this is WAY overdue. You will love it! If you can do Australia too, please let me know.

I will try to do both Sydney shows. I do have a slight concern in that the SMH article made no mention of Bernie being involved in this tour; it specifically listed Glenn, Don, Joe & Tim.

MaryCalifornia
05-21-2014, 06:56 PM
FP, you should e-mail the author of that article and ask him if he has any specific info re: Bernie. He is quite specific with the phrase, "The touring lineup will be..." which would be a little disconcerting if that is how Eagles PR instructed the local PR companies to word the release. But, you also don't want to be worrying about it if he is simply attempting to name the current members of the band.

Will let you know if Aust works out.

In an "exclusive interview with Don Henley" the nzherald.co.nz site specifically states that Bernie will be joining them in both nz and aus. Can't figure out how to post the link on my iPad, but the article should be easy enough to find.

Why do they use that old picture of the guys in the newspaper articles? I wish they'd use the nice new one from the HoTE tour materials. That must be the pic that Eagles PR is providing. Maybe they want people to buy the concert program.

Thank you, FP, and thank you for putting it on Facebook, I shared it with the masses.

This was a great interview. I keep thinking back to the interviews done in the documentary, the part where they are kicking off their European tour for HFO, and they say that if they ever did break up again, they'd not tell anybody. Similar to that, I think they just might do that with touring. Because they've learned to 'never say never' and they don't know what might come up, I think it's very possible they'll decide to stop touring and just let us figure it out on our own. Fortunately, even if they stop 'touring' they could still do shows like in Vegas or wherever as 'residencies' and not count that as touring.

In listening to this interview...I really hope the guys know how much we fans truly appreciate the hard work they put into everything they do. I hope they know that the hard work shows, and the amazing quality product they give us is extremely appreciated.

I like that these interviews are all slightly different. Aside from promoting the show, they're doing a good job with the documentary and even the Selected Works box set (that was reissued in the UK last year and made it onto the supermarket shelves).

The one is fairly relaxed. Keep listening after the interview - the co-presenters give the interviewer a hard time.

Thanks to Channel 9 for being a bit more respectful than Channel 7 were.

When Glenn talked about 'watching the audience' I thought... here we go. I don't know where else to say this (I don't want to post in the Sydney threads yet) but I'm very nervous about these shows. Some of you may remember the events of two years ago. It will be weird.

It was interesting that Glenn mentioned Felder when talking about the HC solo. He could hardly not, admittedly, but what a contrast.

I think there was only one interview where the interviewer said Don was still in the US while everybody else didn't say anything. And watching the little clips of Don singing made me miss seeing him with the guys. I hope he made it safe to Australia. I know he should be there by now.

Speaking of one of the interviews. I can't remember which one, but. You know something. I was remembering what Joe said about he didn't know if Don liked him until he saw the documentary. I know Joe jokes about this all time about Don, but some reason I felt he was seriously. I know they had bad blood in the early 90s, but Don said nothing but nice things about Joe. If Don wasn't happy with Joe in the band or didn't like it, he showed didn't show it.

I don't think they mention solo projects when they are on Eagles duty but if you go back a few years, to before the HOTE tour started:

Henley was working on two albums simultaneously, Glenn wanted to do After Hours II, Joe was working on a blues project, something with the James Gang, probably more solo stuff plus Barnstorm are getting together once the Aussie jaunt is over.

Timothy was working on new material, as he was promoting his last album, Felder's working on new material, not sure about Bernie but his manager will be saying the sooner the better and don't forget Joe mentioning that the Eagles had new material "in the can"

I think there is room for optimism.

Australasia first!

I really like Glenn's analogy regarding digital vs. analog. Analog is the oil painting and digital is the photograph. That's brilliant! If could add to that, I'd say that MP3 music is the photograph in a lower resolution.

Angela Bishop tweeted the interview right after you posted it, and I replied and said no one outside of Australia could see it, and all the other news stations had interviews we could see. She replied two days ago with that link and I just saw the reply when I powered on my tablet. No idea why the computer and phone don't show the notifications!

I agree about the comment Glenn made. It brought on yet another coughing attack as I tried to ask him what he was thinking by saying that.

I also agree. It raises the question - yet again - as to why they ignored LROOE when it's part of their history! Those of us who have been life-long fans would have welcomed a tour with or without "Eden" but it's release and the success of that tour introduced a lot of people to what we already knew was the greatest American band of all time. I still scratch my head over the exclusion. It seems to me that a logical choice would have been to include No More Cloudy Days OR to use I Dreamed There Was No War as an interlude during a set change at the very least. In spite of the fact that 'History' is a remarkable show, it was a disappointment that they didn't acknowledge Eden and Glenn's statement brought that home.

At least freaking "How Long" - I mean, it's absolutely perfect in terms of closing the "History" circle; it's a song they played on their first tours and released on their latest album. At least we got at one show... and it was awesome! WHY did that encore with SBR not last? It was AMAZING!

Two days from now I'll be on the way to Oz :partytime: Hopefully I won't be visiting the local hospital like I did in Singapore last month :)
Does anybody know if the frow tickets with ticketek have early admission or a reception before the show? It only says on my ticketek account to collect the tickets at the venue from 2 hours prior.

There is nothing like that, sorry.

There was no reception/pre show party in Ireland either Flojo, and the one in London was not worth writing home about!!

That's right it was just early entry in Dublin and Amsterdam, maybe I'm getting mixed up :) The ones in the states were great, it's nice to get in early and be able to get to the bar without standing in a queue for ages!
I am so excited, today just can't go fast enough, I haven't even started packing yet...

To be honest, I'd rather just pay €200 and be right at the front for the night than have to fork out for food and drinks that I really dont need. I love the NYC VIP package, but thats about it really. North America can do it in style!!
