As you can see, you can download her single 'So Uncool' on iTunes now. Give it a listen, I think it's quite good.

And today the song has received a review in Billboard:

'Forget that Lucy Walsh is the daughter of Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh. the 24 year-old singer/songwriter from Santa Barbara, Calif., isn't relying on celebrity lineage to get noticed. Trained in piano, voice and music theory, Walsh played keyboards on Ashlee Simpson's 2004 "Autobiography" tour, and signed a deal with ISLAND after a series of New York showcases. "So Uncool," the first single from debut "Lost in the Lights" owes more to Walsh's idol, Cyndi Lauper and'80s freestyle than the Eagles. This uptempo, synth-heavy ode to relationship insecurity picks up where top 40 confections like "Toxic" left off. Radio can look to "So Uncool" as a way to fill the dance-pop void created when Britney met Kevin.'

Thanks for that JF. I gave it a listen and I agree with you. Lucy is quite good - good genes I guess. :D No matter what we sometimes think, I'd bet it really is difficult for the children of rock 'n roll legends to try to make it on their own. I wish her much success and am glad to see favorable reviews from Billboard for her.

I think she gets a lot of her "STYLE" from Cyndi Lauper. She's nicknamed herself or been dubbed "Neon". No matter, listen to her talent! The lady can sing and lordy can she ever play keyboards. She's learning guitar now too. No question in my mind as to where she get's that!

Her mom raised her pretty strictly on classical music and it is a heavy influence on her.

Lucy is definitely one to keep an eye out for. I think that with her exposure on TV in the Reality series and with the "name recognition" she can't avoid, she is going to be a force to recon with in the music industry.

Thanks for the find, Mike and I agree with what you said. Lucy is a very talented lady. I tried to watch the video but it keeps cutting out everytime she starts singing Lullaby for some reason. Oh well - I saw enough of it to get the idea.

Unfortunately, it's true that Joe cheated on his wife with Stevie. Those two hooked up off and on from 1983-1986. Stevie used to have a bad habit of "dating" married men. It takes a bit of the sheen off of her "grand romance with Joe" talk, at least for me.

Don and Stevie's relationship came first; it was off and on from about 1976-1979. They remain close to this day.

I'm happy that it's being mentioned that Joe was married during the time that Stevie talks about him being the "greatest love of her life". I think people thought Joe was being insensitive about Stevie on the Howard Stern show. However, I think he was just trying to show some respect to his then wife, mother of Lucy. Lucy credits her Grandmother, Joe's Mom, for her piano playing. Her Grandmother was always playing classical and Gospel music.
She is on Criminal Minds "Sandman" show. Joe is on the end of the show playing his self and playing poker with the cast.
Did you know that Joe Vitale is her Godfather. Her Godmother is Maria Daily, Joe's friend who got him involved with Santa Cruz Island.

A bit of trivia Lucy's Mom, Jody, and Joe were married on Santa Cruz Island in Dr Stanton's garden. She was baptized in the little chapel on the island and is on the SCI board. She goes back with her Dad and sings in the chapel with him. There is a celebration every year in May There is a YouTube with the end of the ceremony and them walking out of the church singing Amazing Grace in 2019

I read an article sometime back where Joe said both boys were good guitar player but aren't interested a music career. I've seen pictures of the boys and one met with Joe on the video when he was in WA on tour. It's in one of his wrap up videos on his page. The other boy stays out of the public eye
I believe they are named after their gr grandfathers.

I saw on the Santa Cruz site that Lucy was one of only two people baptized in the Little Church that she's playing in. I know Joe an her mother were married in Dr Stanton's rose garden. She also has Stanton as one of her middle names.
