I found a poster of Glenn opening for Tina Turner at the Meadowlands in July of 1985 (see poster (http://www.ebay.com/itm/CONCERT-POSTER-TINA-TURNER-Glenn-Frey-1985-Privtae-Dancer-Tour-New-jersey-/400806217191?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d51e985e7)), and I went back to my Glenn Frey tour archive (http://www.glennfreyonline.com/tour/1985allnightertour.htm) to remind myself how many shows he'd done with her. It was quite a few. It seems like a bit of an unusual choice. I wonder how that came about?

I have no idea. I knew that he had opened for Tina on one of her tours, but I can't remember ever hearing him talk about the experience. According to your archive, this was the setlist for the East Rutherford show, so I assume it was the same or very similar for the others as well:

I Found Somebody
Sexy Girl
The One You Love
The Allnighter
Partytown
Sea Cruise
Smuggler's Blues
Slow Down
The Heat Is On
Heartache Tonight

Ten songs probably means he had an hour set.

It does sound like an odd combination, however after thinking about it, The Allnighter and Private Dancer sounds like a winning combination.

Tina was super hot and big around that time with Private Dancer and the movie Mad Max and then Glenn was hot on the heels of Miami Vice and Beverly Hills Cop. I would had jumped at the opportunity myself to tour with Tina.

I saw Tina in 1985. I don't see it as an unusual combination at all.
